Dental and oral disease can become a risk factor of other disease, such as the focal infection of tonsilitis, otitis media, bacteremia, tocksemia, systemic disease like diabetes mellitus, and can also manifest with the oral cavity. Diabetes mellitus has a very close relationship with abnormality in periodontal tissue in which DM patients who has poorcontrol over oral hygiene and high sugar level is a good medium for the development of bacteria in the oral cavity. Therefore, the researcher is interested to study this with the objective of knowing the relationship between the risk factor (age and gender) and the condition of periodontal tissue of DM patients.This study used cross sectional study by analyzing secondary data of the condition of periodontal tissue of DM patients which was conducted in RSUD Gianyar in June 2014.The finding shows that there is a relationship between age and periodontal abnormality in DM patients with p value of 0.0025 (p 0.05). There is no relationship in DM patients with p value between gender and periodontal abnormality with p value of 0.193 (p 0.05).The conclusion is that there is a relationship between age and periodontal abnormality in DM patients. DM patients are recomended to visit dental clinics to consult and aget dental or oral care.

Smoking has become a habit that is very common and widespread in the community. Efforts to improve the oral health is an effort being made to change the behavior of a person, group of people or community, so as to have a habit of healthy living behavior in the field of oral health. In smokers tend to form more plaque and tartar that can lead to gingivitis (bleeding gums, swollen).This study aims to determine the relationship of smoking with the calculus index in teenagers in Banjar Dukuh Pesirahan Pedungan Denpasar Selatan 2015. The research method is cross cectional, the research data is secondary data from Yudhistira study research about illustration of OHIS in teenager smokers in Br. Dukuh Pesirahan Denpasar Selatan 2014, using Spearman analyses test . Results showed there is significant association between smoking and calculus index.

Chlorin calsium is solid white substance which is ready to be decomposide in water to subsequently release oxygen and chlorin. Basd on the research result, chlorin water contibutes to the riskof dental caries development. Dental caries caused by chlorin water starts with demineralization on the email layer. Email becomes fragile and will develop cavity on the dental surface. The objective of this studyis to identify the impact of the chlorin water towards the development of dental caries in Lingkungan Dasan Cermen Utara in 2015.This research is comparative study with a sampled 50 respondens. The tecnique of sampling is simple random sampling. The methode for data collection used is questionnares and intra oral examinations. The location of the study was among the people of Lingkungan Dasan Cermen Utara.The data analysis used SPSS independent sample t-test. The finding shows significance as seen from the sigma value of 0.00 which lower than 0.05.The conclusion is that there is a significant different of impact between those people using chlorin water who are more vulnarable to dental caries than those using deep well water.

Caries is a disease of the hard tissues of the tooth, namely email, dentin and pulp are fermented, the sign is the demineralization of dental hard tissue which is then followed by the breakdown of organic matter resulting in infasi bacteria and dead pulp and periapical kejaringan spread of infection that can cause pain (Kidd , 1991).What factors are affecting the high incidence of dental caries in children orphanage Yataama Al Firdaus and seeks to improve health in the form of activity with the approach of promotive, preventive, curative, which is implemented in an integrated, holistic, and sustainable.To determine the factors - Factors Affecting Higher Case Dental Caries in Children Orphanage In the PHC Ngesrep Work in 2011.Objective: Knowing the incidence of caries figures DMF-T and def-t, the level of knowledge, attitudes and behavior towards dental health and an action plan Knowing promotive, preventive and curative simple to be performed on children orphanage Yataama Al FerdowsiDescriptive survey research methods to perform data retrieval Yataama In Children Orphanage Al-Ferdowsi In the region of Puskesmas Ngesrep, to see cases of caries and the factors that influence the high incidence of dental caries seen from the health status and oral hygiene by way of examination in children and the administration of the questionnaire. In children deciduous teeth caries was found that about 1 - 5 teeth in 39 children, or by 36.11%. Still finding of caries in primary teeth show that there are factors that lower knowledge about dental health lower resulting in the occurrence of dental caries.Permanent dental caries is widely found in damages 1 - 5 teeth by 67 children or 62%. This incident shows that the high status of dental caries in children orphanage Al-Firdaus as a result of the low level of knowledge on dental health of children.The low level of knowledge, behavior and attitude of the orphanage on the health of the teeth and mouth can be seen from the data processing through questionnaires given in the orphanage.

Aging is a process that can not be avoided by any human being, where there is a change in the process is a very complex body tissues as well as in the oral tissues. Knowledge is an impression in the minds of human as a result of the use of the five senses. Dental and oral health maintenance is to maintain oral hygiene from food residue and other debris in the mouth, with the aim to keep teeth healthy. Referring to the results of the survey in Hong Kong, the Asian countries with similar socio-cultural and Indonesia obtained for 12% of the elderly are not toothed and still have an average of 15 teeth to function. This study aims to gain an relation of knowledge about oral health care and the number of teeth that function in the elderly in the Home Care Elderly Wana Seraya Biaung Denpasar in 2013. This research is a descriptive study by using the total population. The study of 42 elderly suggests elderly who are knowledgeable about oral health care found that most of the elderly in the Home Care Elderly Wana Seraya Biaung Denpasar have less knowledge of the criteria are as many as 21 people with percentage 50 %, The average teeth of function in the elderly is as much as seven and average teeth of function based on the level of knowledge of dental and oral health maintenance by good criteria was 18.12. Knowledge level of elderly is positively connected with the amount teeth of function on elderly as big as 0,351 (r=0,351) with relation power as big as p=0,023 ( p-value 0,05 ).

Dental nurse’s activity has risk in doing their job. The risk of the disease can be a danger to health (health hazard) or a danger to safety (safety hazard). Prevention of risks must be made by all parties by means of adjustment between workers, work processes and working environment with an approach called ergonomics. Occupational diseases that often occur dental nurses are generally derived from physiological factors. Diseases that often arise are: Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs), lower back pain, hernia nucleus pulposus ( HNP ) , and Carpal Turner Syndrome . Prevention is usually done by a nurse to avoid these diseases is to adopt a healthy lifestyle, exercising regularly, and do some engineering or changes in the work environment.

The behavior of smoking is one of cause of some disease especially cancer. Oral chamber is first place of contact of the cigarette smoke with the human body. The cigarrete smoke which flows as the result of the influence of particles of cigarrete smoke. The objective of this study is to identify the correlation of gingivitis with the behavior of wood carvers in Mas Village of Ubud District Gianyar Regency.This study is an observational reseach with cross sectional approach. This size of the sample 30 persons. The analysia being deployed in this research is univariate analysis in the form of frequency aan percentage which subsquently is performed bivariate analysis with Kendalls Tau.Out of 30 respondenDari 30 respondents, it has been found that majority (60%) of the respondents suffer from medium inflammation and none of them have healthy gum.The result of the bivariate analysis show that there is a significant correlation bettwen gingivitis and the quality of cigarettes being consumed in a day with significancy rate 0.000 and correlation rate of 0.516. There is significant correlation bettwen gingivitis with length of smoking time with significancy rate of 0.022 and correlation rate 0.304.There is a significant correlation bettwen gingivitis and behavior of smoking among wood in Mas Village of Ubud District Gianyar Regency.

Results of Population Census 2010 indicated that Indonesia among the top five countries with the number of elderly people (elderly) in the world, reaching 18.1 million in 2010 or 9.6% of the population. This encourages us all to be ready to face the logical consequence of the existence of problems - problems that arise due to this elderly population explosion. Elderly often have problems of malnutrition, even though they do not look thin. Increasing age, the higher the risk of suffering from malnutrition. The purpose of writing is to provide information that the teeth play an important role in the digestive process to nutrition to support the health and quality of life of the elderly. Elderly is a natural process that can not be avoided. The function of the teeth is not only limited help chew or speak, but also aesthetics or appearance. Aesthetic functions and still be considered normal talk with the number of teeth at least 20 pieces. In the group of elderly is expected to have a minimum of 20 dental work. Nutritional problems faced by elderly people closely related to the decrease in the biological activity of the body. Less balanced food consumption will worsen the condition of the elderly who naturally was already declining. Reduced ability to digest food due to damage or missing teeth is one of the factors that influence the nutritional needs of the elderly. Plaque consists of a thin layer of a variety of microorganism that forms on the tooth surface sometime after the teeth come into contact with saliva. One of the work done in controlling plaque is by brushing your teeth. This study aims to determine the differences in plaque index brushing with a toothbrush hairy soft and brushing with a toothbrush hairy medium. Scope of plaque index, brushing, tootbrush hairy soft and toothbrush hairy medium.Studies using experimental design methods to design one group pretest posttest. Research conducted in public elementary schools 07 Air Camar Kecamatan Padang Timur on 29 to 30 Januari 2014. Samples are 32 people with a sampling technic that judgment sampling. Data collection is done by direct examination on the subject of research using independent t-test.Result of the study showed plaque index before brushing teeth with toothbrush hairy soft has a value of 3.0 to 4,2 and after brushing teeth with tootbrushing hairy soft has a value of 0.2 to 0.8, while the index of plaque before brushing teeth with tootbrush hairy medium being has value 3.1 to4.2 and after brushing teeth with toothbrush hairy medium being has a value of 0.08 to 0.3. results of independent t-test values obtained tH tT which means no significant difference.Conclusion of the study, there were significant differences between brushing with a toothbrush hairy soft and brushing with a toothbrush hairy medium. Advised to pay attention to the sample texture and a bristle brush is recommended to use a tootbrush hairy medium dental hygiene in order get maximum.

Oral and dental diseases are commerly founds as a community diseases which are found in both children and adults since they affect deciduous as well as permanent teeth. Oral Health constitutes an integral part of health in general with important aspects in relation with the mastication, speech and esthetic functions. The objective of this research is to identify the impact of dental and oral health counseling service towards dental and oral health of elementary school students in the working area of community health center in south Denpasar in 2011.The design of this research is observational, cross sectional study. The sample are 128 persons, and in determining the samples the systematic random sampling was conducted. The result of this research shows that the counseling service has an impact to the OHI-S status with OR score of 9.930 and there is an impact between the counseling service and DMF-T status (p=0.000) with OR score of 5.942. Based on Chi Square test, it is found that the X2 value is X2 = 1.312 with p is at0.252 bigger that a=5% (0.2520.05). This shows that there is no impact between the knowledge of dental and oral health and OHI-S status of the students. There is no impact between the attitude and OHI-S status (p=0.120) and there is no impact between the attitude and the DMF-T status (p=0.209). There is an impact between the behavior and the DMF-T status of the elementary school students in the working area of Puskesmas in South Denpasar (p=0.001) with OR score of 5.800. The conclusion of this research is that in addition to the counseling service program, the behavior of the students also plays a significant role in the improvement of the dental and oral health of the elementary school students. It is suggested that dental health personnel in their dental and oral counseling service include not only the students and teachers but also the parents of the students as the persons who are closest to the students. In addition to that, the activities emphasize more on the promotional and preventive activities so that it can improve the level of the dental and oral health in order to prevent new carries.
