Abstract

Laboratory education is an academic support unit at the college, which is used to carry out educational activities, research, and community service; using 1) the equipment and 2) materials, 3) based on certain scientific method. laboratory is defined as a place to hold a trial, investigation, and so related to physics, chemistry, and biology or other science fields. Broadly speaking laboratories in the educational process has the functions are as follows: 1). As a place to practice developing intellectual skills. 2). Develop motor skills. 3). Provide and cultivate the courage to seek the essence of scientific truth of the object in something of an environmental and social nature. Some role of laboratories in education, especially in the field of skills among students, among others: (1) To train students to be skilled in conducting the practice of engineering skills for the various sub-fields of skills, (2) Assemble and install the equipment / laboratory equipment engineering skills, (3) Creating and designing components specific-component in a wide range of expertise by using laboratory facilities engineering skills, (4) Serving students and the community in conducting educational practice through laboratory equipment engineering skills as a medium, and (5) Maintain and repair equipment / laboratory equipment engineering skills

Abstract

Most frequently found oral disease in dental caries, periodontal disease, trauma and injuries and heredity lesi. School children is a group which is vulnarable todental and oral disease, especially dental caries. This study aims to know the profile of dental caries in first year student of elementary schools within working area of Puskesmas I Denpasar Utara in 2015.The research method used in this study is survey, which was conducted in 16 elementary schools within the working area of Puskesmas I Denpasar Utara with 1104 respondents (all first year students). The data was alayzed with univariate statistics to generate frequency and avarage.The finding shows that the highest occurarence of caries wasin Saraswati 2 Elementary School (45 teeth), and the lowest on was in Elementary School 20 Dangri and Dwijendra Elementary School with 9 teeth. The avarage of caries among first year students in working area of Puskesmas I Denpasar Utara was 0.3.The conclusion of this study is that the occurance of caries among first year students of Elemantary School in the working area of Puskesmas I Denpasar Utara in 2015 was relative low. Based on the conclusion above, it is suggested to refer student with dental caries to health service facilities available in the area.

Abstract

8.5 % of the  Gianyar regency population have  the teeth and  mouth problem. The knowledge of oral health care needs to be improved. The Oral health is a fundamental part of  public health and well-being .The purpose of this study is to know the differences of oral health care knowledge level of SDN 2 Singapadu Kaler students before and after given education. The total population of  this experimental sudy were 40 students. Data was based on the answers of the questionnaire before and after given education.The results of this study showed that the oral health care knowledge level of SDN 2 Singapadu Kaler students before and after given education were different significantly (p0.05). The mean of knowledge level after given education had changed from 63.87 to 91. Conclusion of this study is  the oral health care knowledge level of SDN 2 Singapadu Kaler students after given education has increased.

Abstract

The improvement of people knowledge  demanded a satisfying health quality for the consumers. Satisfaction is a happy feeling of person after comparing between the reality and their hope. The purpose of this study was to describe the satisfaction level of the patient through the service at Poliklinik Gigi Puskesmas Sukawati II in 2015. The study is a descriptive  using cross sectional and using qualitative method. The population of this study was all the patients who have visited Poliklinik Gigi Puskesmas Sukawati II from  20th – 27th June 2015, the level of satisfaction was measured by the grade for health service. As the result from 45 respondents shows reliability dimension, hope value 559 : reality value 563 and satisfaction value 4 , so it can be categorized as very satisfied. From responsiveness dimension, shows the hope value 411 : reality value 411 and satisfaction value 0, so it can be categorized as satisfied.  Assurance dimension shows hope value 555 : reality value 559 and satisfaction value 4, categorized as very satisfied. Empathy dimension, shows hope value 419 : reality value 419 and satisfaction value 0, categorized as satisfied. As the conclusion, all of the five dimensions which is measured from the respondents shows very satisfied with the health service at the reliability, assurance and tangibles dimension. Meanwhile, for the responsiveness and empathy dimension, the respondents feel satisfied. So, as an advice for the Poliklinik Gigi Puskesmas Sukawati II to keep improving their health service for the patients by giving them a better responses

Abstract

Pulp necrosis shown to be associated with heart disease. The spread of diseases of the teeth to other organs can be explained by the theory of focal infection. The impact of dental disease on the heart may be a coronary heart disease, inflammation of the heart muscle and valves. This study aims to describe the knowledge about heart disease in patientswith pulp necrosis in Badung District General Hospital 2016. This study is descriptive study. The sample was 50 people. The result of this research is the level of knowledge about heart disease in the category fail to reach 5 people (10%) and the majority of respondents in this category junior high school education. Whereas in the excellent category reached 16 people (32%) and the majority of respondents in this category educated to degree. The average knowledge about heart disease in patients with necrotic pulp was 67,6 with enough categories. Suggestions in this study is the dental and oral health professionals are expected to increase promotional efforts through therapeutic communication to all patients who visit and give an explanation to patients with necrotic pulp so that patients understand the consequences caused by the necrosis of the pulp is mainly to do with heart disease.

Abstract

Smoking is a risk  factor of patholigic diseases of both locally in the oral cavity and systemic diseases. Oral cavity is the first point of contact of the cigarrete smoke so that it is easily exposed to smoking effect. To inhale cigarrete smoke is the same inhaling more than 4.000 chemical substance dangerous to our health. The aims of the literature study is to identify the various effect of the smoking habbit toward dental  and oral cavity. The local effect due to includes dental caries, dental hygiene, periodontontal  diseases, dental lost, recovery slow down, lesi pre-cancer and cancer within oral cavity. Relevant health personnels need to educate the community members obout the danger of smoking and to motivate the community member to quit smoking and to suggestion to maintain their health.
