Abstract

Calcium is one of macromineral that needed by fish for physiological processes such as osmoregulation, enzyme regulation, ossification and cell permeability. This study aimed to determine the optimum concentration of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) at 3 ppt salinity of media and evaluated the effects of adding calcium to physiological conditions. The study was conducted in two stages; the first stage was determined the optimum concentration of calcium, the second stage was evaluated the effect of calcium on the physiological condition of fish. Randomized completely design with four treatments and three replication; 3 ppt + 0 mg/L CaCO3, 3 ppt + 50 mg/L CaCO3, 3 ppt + 100 mg/ L CaCO3, 3 ppt + 150 mg/L CaCO3, were used in this study. The results showed that the salinity of media with the addition of calcium can reduce levels of osmotic performance, oxygen consumption, and blood glucose levels. Treatment 3 ppt + 100 mg/L showed the best physiological condition among other treatments.

Abstract

This research in two sub-districts and District Bantan North Rupat Bengkalis District, Riau Province. The purpose of this study was to analyze: The potential of fishery resources, the condition of waters, eklpoitasi level of fishery resources in the arrest of three zones Bengkalis. The study states that the sustainable potential of Zone I to 1287.09 tons / year. The rate of exploitation in 2013 amounted to 113.04% with the condition have been over fishing, sustainable Potential Zone II is 4444.48 tons/year and the rate of exploitation in 2013 amounted to 90.46% with very keritis conditions, sustainable Potential Zone III for 3181, 38 tons / year by the rate of exploitation in 2013 amounted to 81.67% with the condition of the waters have started critical

Abstract

Shell of blue swimming crabs is an potential source of glucosamine as their producttion is abundant and not yet economically utilized. In tis study glucosamin was extracted from chitin and chitosan of blue swimming crabs shells by HCl of various concentrations (33%, 35%, 37%), and the products obtained were evaluated for rendement, quality characteristics. The results indicated that the highest glucosamine rendement was obtained from chitin extracted with 33% HCl, but the best purity, Lod and melting point was produced from chitosan extracted by 35% HCl. Compared to standar, glucosamin purity, Lod and melting point extracted from t kitosan was slightly lower. The purity, moisture, Lod and melting point of glucosamin extracted from chitosan of blue swimming crabs shell as well as standart was 65,543%; 5,208%, 0,856%; 186°C; and 95%; 5,194%; 0,767; 190°C respectively.

Abstract

The research was conducted on February 2016 in Nagari Sikucur , V Koto Kampung Dalam Sub District, Padang Pariaman District, West Sumatra Province.The purpose of this research was to 1) Describe the form of local wisdom as a effort of aquatic resource conservation in Nagari Sikucur , V Koto Kampung Dalam Sub District, Padang Pariaman District, West Sumatra Province 2) Find out the effort of county to institutionalize lubuk larangan as local wisdom 3) Identify the strategy and policy of sustainability local wisdom. Lubuk larangan is a part of the river or the lake which is rather deep, sheltered and preferred by various fishes as a place to breed, allowing them to grow and reproduce naturally, and is banned for hunting in a given time period. The method used in the research was the quantitative research method. The result showed that the local wisdom in Nagari Sikucur is formed as lubuk larangan, the management of lubuk larangan is in form of surveillance, regulation, and sanction. The strategy undertaken is by keep doing the mutual cooperation once in a week

Abstract

The aims of this research was to knows the effect of probiotic bacteria additon which isolated from giant river prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii, de man) with different dose in artificial feed on growthand feed efficiency of green catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus). This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor, four treatments and three replications. The treatments were addition of probiotic bacteria in artificial feed with different dose is, P0 (without addition of probiotic), P1 (5 ml/kg of feed), P3 (10 ml/kg of feed) and P3 (15 ml/kg of feed). Probiotic given throught in artificial feed with 35% protein content. The results showed the treatments in P2 (10 ml/kg of feed) were the best treatment with digestibility of feed 51,46%, feed efficiency 29,02%, protein retention 71,57%, specific growth rate 2,18% and survival rate 91,67%.

Abstract

This study was aimed to Analyzed the Fe supplementation on gonadal maturity of selais, then to Analyzed the effect of culture system to accelerate gonadal maturation of selais, and the last aimed was to Analyzed the interaction between culture system with Fe amount. The method used is an experimental method. The design with two factors: the Fe Supplementation and culture system. Factor 1 is the feed formulation with 4 supplementation levels of Fe (synthetic), Fe From shell, Fe supplementation from anchovies and control without the Fe supplementation. Factor 2 is culture system which are stagnant ad flowing water. The results showed that Fe supplementation and culture systems affect the fish growth, but their interaction was not significant. The best treatment was obtained in the treatment of Fe supplementation from shellfish and water flowing systems.

Abstract

This study about activity of antioxidant aimed to determine the chemical characterization of sandfish, sandfish meat and sandfish powder, determine the best formulation in manufacturing Holothuria atra tablet based on DEPKES RI standard and to determine the antioxidant activity and the active compounds that act as antioxidants in the extract of Holothuria atra tablets. The method used in the manufacture of tablets is the direct compression method using 6 formulations to treat the kind of powder substance that is the ingredient of sandfish are intact and substances from the meat of sandfish. Tablet chosen based on the standards of the Ministry of Health that includes the physical characteristics of the test tablet and shelf-life stability. Tablet rivet sandfishtested the antioxidant activity by the method of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). Tests to determine the active compounds that act as antioxidants with thin layer chromatography (TLC) and bioautography antioxidants and also to determine the functional groups using analysis of Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). The yield of sandfish powder is considerably low. Yield of sandfish powder are 10.26% and sandfish meat powder are 9,82%. The protein content of sandfish powder are 60,89% lower compared to sandfish meat powders of 63,57%. Formula elected from the sandfish tablet test based on physical characteristics and stability test of the shelf life of the tablet is the formula A2 with the composition of the powder formulation Holothuria atra (25%), Ac-Di-Sol (2%), L-HPC (2%), Aspartame (0.5%), menthol (0.2%), talk (1%), magnesium stearate (1%) and lactose: mannitol (67.8%) and has antioxidant activity with IC50 value of 97.22 ppm. TLC test and Bio-autography showed that the class of antioxidant compounds are steroid, and suspected compounds at FTIR test, that act as antioxidants compound has similarities to the sterol class.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know efects of soybean meal subtitution with leucena leaves fermented trial in the diets on the growth, feed efficiency , feed digestibility and protein retention of gouramy.Five experimental diets was formulated to contain 0,10,20,30, and 40% fermented leucena leaves meal and 100,90,80,70, and 60% soybean meal (P0,P1,P2,P3,P4, respectively). Completely randomized design (CRD) was used in this experiment.The result of this research showed that a diet containing 30% fermented leucena leaves meal and 70% soybean meal (P3) support a good specific growth rate (2,13%), feed efficiency (34,82%), feed digestibility (64,91%), and protein retention (30,37%). It is concluded that 30% soybean meal can be substituted with fermented leucena leaves meal in the diets for gouramy.

Abstract

Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) of fishery workers about forbidden food additives are explained. The study is aimed to know forbidden food additives (formaline and borax) by qualitative experiment and to conducted KAP fishery workers about adding forbidden food additives into salted fish that produce. The data were collected by using of questioner that are arranged and developed systematically. The results haved showed that 20% of salted fish processing unit (UP) produce salted fish which indicate formaline and borax. Most of fishery workers agreed that formaline and borax are forbidden and danger adding into salted fish. The side effect factors that influence adding food additives into salted fish are Attitudes, Practice, working periode, age, and education.

Abstract

Research on development strategy of fireflies (kunang-kunang) ecotourism is carried out in the mangrove forest Bokor village, district West Rangsang, Meranti Islands of Riau Province in October-November 2015. The purpose of this study is to see the public perception and composing development strategy of Firefly (Kunang-Kunang) ecotourism in mangrove forest Bokor village. The method used is a survey method and interview. Processing data using Respondents Perception Index (IPR) and SWOT analysis. Respondents Perception Index (IPR) are in the neutral category with score of 0.48 and the same perception Bokor village societies are in the category of being with a mean value of 2.25.Based on the SWOT analysis mangrove forest area Bokor village the potential for firefly ecotourism development with the position of matrix grand strategy in quadrant I.
