Abstract

Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) of fishery workers about forbidden food additives are explained. The study is aimed to know forbidden food additives (formaline and borax) by qualitative experiment and to conducted KAP fishery workers about adding forbidden food additives into salted fish that produce. The data were collected by using of questioner that are arranged and developed systematically. The results haved showed that 20% of salted fish processing unit (UP) produce salted fish which indicate formaline and borax. Most of fishery workers agreed that formaline and borax are forbidden and danger adding into salted fish. The side effect factors that influence adding food additives into salted fish are Attitudes, Practice, working periode, age, and education.

Abstract

Tanjungbalai terletak di pesisir pantai timur Sumatera Utara yang memiliki kelimpahan berbagai jenis udang. Umumnya udang dimasak dengan pengolahan suhu tinggi, marinasi udang kecap asin merupakan salah satu diversifikasi udang.Udang mentah dimarinasi dengan direndam dalam kecap asin dilakukan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat penerimaan panelis terhadap produk marinasi udang kecap asin. Metode ekspresimen digunakan dalam penelitian dengan 3 (tiga) perlakuan dan 3 (tiga) pengulangan. Perlakuan jenis udang yang berbeda yaitu: A1, Udang Swallow (Metapenaeus affinis); A2, Udang Vannamei (Penaeus vannamei); dan A3, Udang Galah (Macrobranchium resenbergii). Parameter penelitian adalah uji hedonic. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan SNI No. 2346: 2015 uji hedonic dan ANOVA. Hasil penelitian diperoleh marinasi udang kecap asin diterima oleh panelis pada perlakuan A21, dengan perolehan skor 4.96 pada level suka. Pada parameter setelah rasa (after taste) menunjukkan hanya perlakuan A31 berbeda nyata (p>0.05) pada perbedaan jenis udang pada marinasi udang kecap asin.

Abstract

The Japanese Bandar Sei River is one of the rivers in Tanjungbalai City with a width of 5.1 km and a width of 6 meters. The river flows into the Asahan River. The river flow can be used as a source of electricity by constructing dams on the river. This is used by the author as a form of studies research. The technique used on this studies is the M.J Mock method to find the value of reliable water discharge and Flow Duration Curva for the probability of water discharge. Based on the findings of the research, the analysis of reliable water discharge calculations obtained from the analysis is 4.93 m3 / second. The potential for water power generated is Theoretical Power: 94 kW, Turbine Power: 130 kW and Generator Power: 116 kW. The average value of evapotranspiration is 150.88 mm.

Abstract

Teacher performance affect the students’ learning outcomes. End of semester instructional process evaluated by teacher and students. This study aimed to analyze the effect of Pedagogic, Professional, Personality, and Social as Teacher Performance on Students’ Learning Outcome in Applied Chemistry course. The population of this study is student’s took Applied Chemistry course which academic year is: 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 in Polytechnic of Tanjungbalai. The sampling is total sampling. Research method using Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modelling (PLS – SEM). Questionnaire evaluation in the end of semester as instrument for Teacher Performance and Student’s assessment sheet as instrument for Students’ Learning Outcome. The result showed that there is a direct effect of negative and not significant correlation between Pedagogic and Social Teacher Performance on Students’ Learning Outcome Disclosure and there is a direct effect of positive and not significant between Professional and Personality Teacher Performance on Students’ Learning Outcome Disclosure. Abstract

Ikan Tenggiri atau nama latinya (Scomberomorini) ialah ikan laut yang berada di kelautan di Indonesia dan banyak di temukan di lautan Pulau Sulawesi dengan iklim tropis sangat cocok pada habitat ikan tenggiri. Ikan  Tenggiri salah satu sederetan ikan tongkol dan ikan tuna yang mempunyai kandungan gizi asam lemak omega-3 yang dapat mencegah penyakit kanker. Ikan ini memiliki karakteristik daging warna putih dan tebal dan duri dalam tubuh ikan tidak lengket/menyatu dengan daging, berdaging putih, tebal. Banyak olahan ikan tenggiri seperti empek–empek, bakso dan kerupuk ikan yang di sukai masyarakat Kota Tanjungbalai yang termasuk kota pesisir pantai dimana berdekatan dengan lautan memiliki potensi besar dalam produksi bidang perikanan. Untuk tahun 2019 jumlah tangkapan ikan pada Kota Tanjungbalai sebesar 39 734,60 ton. Hal ini bisa dijadikan acuan untuk bisa dijadikan pemanfaatan sumber bahan untuk pendapatan keluarga. Untuk itu diperlukan pelatihan pembuatan bakso bagi kaum ibu-ibu untuk menambah ketrampilan dengan tujuan dapat menunjang penghasilan rumah tangga. Metode yang dilakukan pada pengabdian masyarakat ini metode waterfall yaitu penyuluhan, pelatihan dan hasil. Dari hasil pelatihan ini didapatkan bahwa kaum ibu-ibu sangat antusias dalam kegiatan tersebut dan diharapkan peserta mempunyai sikap enterpreuner.

Abstract

Tanjungbalai City is one of the cities located on the coast, with some of its people working as fishermen. Therefore, some ordinary people do not know the electricity system, both household and industrial electrical systems. This is deemed necessary to do an understanding of electricity. This understanding is intended to provide training in household electrical systems so that it is expected that they can carry out maintenance and repair independently and gain life skills to find work and create jobs. The training method is carried out in 3 steps, namely the delivery of basic electrical theory, demonstration exercises from drawing diagrams, making simulations assisted by the Electrical Control Techniques Simulator (EKTS) application, and testing the installation series starting from measurement, checking wire connections, troubleshooting the installation so that it is good and safe and evaluation through pre-training and post-training assessments. The data were analyzed by descriptive analyses and T-test SPSS 22. The result showed that participants’ understanding increased.

Abstract

In the post-COVID-19 era, the government continues to move so that education continues to run with facilities and infrastructure as one of the supporting factors. Quality improvement is very important to increase the quality and quantity that exists in the form of literacy and numeracy as a form of basic understanding to evaluate the form of texts and problems that exist in society. The Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) is a type of quality improvement for both students and schools. For SMP 4, Tanjungbalai City, which conducted the AKM Simulation Exam with a total student population of 42 people in class VIII, To carry out this research, the PLS-SIM model was carried out to determine the analysis of the influence of student satisfaction on taking the simulation exam. From the data obtained and data processing carried out, the results of the validation show an average value of AVE student satisfaction of 0.638, an R Square value of 0.844, an adjusted R Square value of 0.831, and a T-Statistic value of 1.049 for users, a T-Statistic of 4.947 for testing, and a T-Statistic of 1.672 for network system

Abstract

Pandemi COVID-19 yang masuk tahun 2019 telah merubah tatanan kehidupan sampai saat ini. COVID-19 menyebar dari manusia ke manusia melalui droplet atau tetesan kecil dari hidung atau mulut. Berbagai upaya telah dilakukan dalam menurunkan penyebaran COVID-19. Peran masyarakat sangat penting melalui tindakan pencegahan dan pengendalian untuk memutus rantai penularan agar tidak terjadi penularan baru. Salah satu di antara pencegahan adalah melalui desinfeksi. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan pada tahun 2021, metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah dengan pendekatan ceramah, demonstrasi melalui pemaparan materi dan pelatihan pembuatan desinfektan dengan menggunakan bahan-bahan yang ada di rumah serta dievaluasi melalui kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan. Data nilai jumlah dari nilai pretest sebesar 37 dari 14 peserta dengan rata-rata 2,61 dan jumlah nilai posttest sebesar 48 dengan rata-rata sebesar 3,71 dan selisih 1,09 antara posttest dan pretest. Data hasil dari pretest dan posttest secara keseluruhan dari 14 peserta menunjukkan nilai persentase posttest jauh leih besar dengan nilai 58,98% dan nilai pretest sebesar 41,59% dengan selisih 17,39%. Pelaksanaan pelatihan ini meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat dalam desinfeksi pencegahan virus di rumah dan fasilitas umum serta cara pembuatan desinfektan
