The ease of information variable is the dominant variable in the referral patient visit. It is necessary to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the Referback Program, to conduct more intensive socialization regarding the Referback Program, to Health Facilities or participants about how useful this referral programs.

Abstract

Preterm birth is the leading cause (60-80%) of neonatal morbidity and mortality worldwide. Every year, approximately 15 million babies are born prematurely in the world, more than one in 10 births. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal age and the incidence of prematurity at the Syekh Yusuf Regional Hospital, Gowa Regency. The design of this research is quantitative using an analytical survey method through a cross sectional approach where maternal age is the independent variable and the incidence of prematurity is the dependent variable. This research was carried out at the Syekh Yusuf Regional Hospital, Gowa Regency on 16 February – 10 March 2023. The population in this study were all mothers who gave birth at the Syekh Yusuf Regional Hospital, Gowa Regency with a total sample of 67 respondents obtained using random sampling techniques. The results of this study showed that of the 67 respondents there were 43 (64.2%) respondents who were at risk and experienced prematurity, 4 (6.0%) respondents who were not at risk and experienced prematurity, 6 (9.0%) respondents who were at risk age and did not experience premature events, and 14 (20.9%) respondents who were not at risk age and did not experience premature events. Based on the results of statistical tests using Chi Square with a significance level of ? = 0.05, the statistical test results were c2count > 2table or 26.998 > 3.84.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the causes of death in women in Indonesia. Many studies have been conducted to determine the anti-cancer effects of natural ingredients. Pomegranate peel contains ellagic acid which has anti-cancer effects. In this study, the anti-cancer activity of pomegranate peel was examined against HeLa cell lines. Pomegranate peel was obtained from Malang, East Java, extracted using 70% ethanol. Cell viability and IC50 values were examined using the MTT test after incubation for 24, 48, and 72 hours. The percentage of living cells was calculated using a hemocytometer using Trypan Blue staining. DNA fragmentation was examined using electrophoresis as a marker of apoptosis activation. The IC50 value in pomegranate peel extract was at a concentration of 450 µg/ml. The results of the percentage of viability cells using hemocytomete at an IC50 concentration of 52%. Smears in DNA fragmentation examination were seen in samples incubated for 24 hours, indicating apoptosis activation. Pomegranate peel extract has anticancer activity against HeLa cell lines, with a mechanism involving apoptosis. This potential indicates that pomegranate peel extract can be further developed as a natural anticancer agent

Abstract

Background: Obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are global public health challenges that frequently coexist due to overlapping metabolic and inflammatory pathways. This narrative review examines the bidirectional relationship between these conditions and evaluates multidisciplinary strategies for integrated prevention and management. Using literature from Scopus and ScienceDirect (2014–2024), the review includes studies that explore pathophysiological connections, lifestyle-based and pharmacological interventions, and public health policy innovations. The findings highlight the central role of visceral adiposity in insulin resistance and beta-cell failure, necessitating integrated treatment approaches. Multidisciplinary programs that combine dietary, behavioral, and technological interventions show promising outcomes in both weight and glycemic control. Policy interventions such as sugar-sweetened beverage taxation and front-of-pack labeling have contributed to improved population-level health behavior. Furthermore, community-based strategies, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), offer culturally relevant and scalable solutions. Despite these successes, challenges remain in achieving sustainability, ensuring equitable access, and adapting interventions to local contexts. This review underscores the need for harmonized clinical, behavioral, and policy approaches, and calls for further research into long-term outcomes, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of integrated strategies for addressing the dual burden of obesity and diabetes
