Abstract

This research discusses the definition of blended learning model, classification of blended learning model, benefits of blended learning in Islamic religious education learning, implementation of blended learning model in Islamic religious education learning, and challenges in implementing blended learning model in Islamic religious education learning. This research uses literature review method to analyze the concept of blended learning model implementation in Islamic religious education learning. Data collection was conducted by tracing various literature sources related to blended learning and Islamic religious education learning that included empirical research, theoretical studies, and practice reports from various educational contexts identified through searches in digital academic databases, as well as through cross-referencing of relevant articles. The data analysis used a content analysis approach. The results showed that the implementation of blended learning in Islamic religious education learning offers an innovative and flexible approach to improve the quality and effectiveness of learning. However, the implementation strategy of blended learning must be designed by considering the advantages, disadvantages, and challenges. Such as access to the internet, teacher and learner skills, and digital security. If implemented wisely and adaptively, blended learning in Islamic religious education learning has great potential to enrich learners' learning experience. Therefore, it is important to continuously evaluate and develop, as well as ensure that any challenges are addressed with appropriate and innovative solutions, so that the benefits of blended learning can be felt by all parties involved in Islamic religious education learning. Keywords: blended learning, learning strategies, Islamic religious education learning.

Abstract

The difficulties in reading the Qur’an experienced by children with special needs did not receive adequate attention. There is a gap in the ability to read the Qur’an between children with special needs and normal children. This research aims to describe the use of plasticine media to support the learning of Hijaiyah letters for a down syndrome child. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected through observation and interview. The data analysis included three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results show that learning Hijaiyah letters using plasticine has a significant impact on a child with down syndrome. The three-dimensional letters formed using plasticine media are more recognizable to a child with down syndrome. Before using plasticine, the child could not recognize and pronounce the Hijaiyah letters independently. However, he could recognize and pronounce the Hijaiyah letters independently without assistance after using plasticine. The child's understanding of the Hijaiyah letters also improves. He can differentiate one letter from another, such as noticing the number of dots in the letters Ba, Ta, and Ṡa. Using plasticine media in the learning process can increase the child’s enthusiasm for learning, develop his imagination, and support his memory. Keywords: Hijaiyah letters, media plasticine, down syndrome

Abstract

Despite being the medium of instruction at all levels of education, English fluency remains a challenge for many Nigerian undergraduates, especially considering English functions as a second language in the country. This highlights the need for effective learning strategies for undergraduates. Hence, this study investigated the potential of Flipgrid, a video-based discussion platform, to improve speaking skills and reduce speaking anxiety among Nigerian undergraduates. The study employed a pre- and post-quasi-experimental research design and selected a class of 25 third-year undergraduates at a university in Nigeria as participants. The study results reveal a significant positive impact of the Flipgrid platform on the participants' speaking skills in fluency, pronunciation and accent, vocabulary, accuracy, and comprehension. The study also found a significant reduction in participants' speaking anxiety post-intervention. The results suggest that the platform not only contributes to skill development but also plays a crucial role in overcoming anxiety related to the student’s oral communication. Therefore, the study recommends the integration of Flipgrid into English language teaching as a valuable tool for improving Nigerian undergraduates' speaking proficiency and reducing speaking anxiety. Additionally, the study suggests further research to explore the long-term effects of the Flipgrid platform on language learning in different contexts.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the teachers' and students' perceptions of the implementation of the Cambridge curriculum in English subjects along with the obstacles experienced and alternative solutions to these obstacles. This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach. This research was carried out in the following stages: initial research and data collection, transcription of conversations and interview results, data analysis, and reports.Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation, with research subjects consisting of eight students, two Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) English teachers, and one representative from Assalafiyyah Language Center (ALC) who oversaw the implementation of the Cambridge Curriculum at MTs Assalafiyyah. To analyze the data, this research used Miles and Hubbermans cycle. The results of the study show that teachers and students have positive and welcoming perceptions of the implementation of the Cambridge curriculum at MTs Assalafiyyah. However, there were obstacles experienced related to delivery, the materials, and the facilities. Then the proposed alternative solutions can be implemented by increasing teacher training, giving students opportunities for extensive learning, and providing some required facilities to maximize the implementation of the Cambridge curriculum in MTs Assalafiyyah.

Abstract

The embedded STEM approach is currently the most easily implemented in Indonesia compared to other types of approaches. This approach requires a context to be delivered in the learning process. The context selection must consider its relevance to everyday life and be closely linked to process competencies. This study conducts a scientific content analysis of Light Emitting Diode. It investigates its potential application in high school physics embedded-STEM learning. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative methodology using the Model of Educational Reconstruction as the research framework. Data were collected through a literature review of three scientific references on LEDs. The scientific content analysis of LEDs was performed using the hermeneutic analysis method. The literature analysis of these subthemes revealed that the significant Physics concepts relevant to LEDs include energy and its transformations, direct current electricity, electromagnetic radiation, electronic systems, and quantum physics. Consequently, LEDs hold significant potential as a context for embedded STEM learning in high school physics. The results of this study provide a foundation for the subsequent phase of constructing embedded STEM learning designs with the topic of LEDs, such as the development of textbooks, learning strategies, and their evaluation. Keywords: contextual physics, LED, embedded STEM
