Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the history of Islamic minorities in India. The Muslim minority in India, it can be said that the development of Islam there is still facing big obstacles and challenges from Hindu groups, Hindus are very well known for their caste system from the highest caste to the lowest caste, for the lowest caste they give To the Muslims who were there, who were very influential in their social life, it was clear that the treatment of the Hindus towards the Muslim minority was only underestimated. In the political field there are only very few opportunities for Muslims, the remaining 1% is controlled by Hindus, while in the field of education, Muslim children are very far below even many who are illiterate, this is influenced by the Muslim minority economy. there which is very concerning and also the lack of assistance from the government, because they are Muslims it is very difficult to find work, they even disguise themselves by wearing Hindu clothes in order to get a job to meet their needs.

Abstract

Despite being a minority, Panamanian Muslims have the longest historical history of any Central American region. Based on this, this article aims to explain the process of the entry of Islam into Panama, and explain how the development of da'wah civilization and the Muslim community in Panama, especially after the construction of the Panama Canal mega project. This type of research is qualitative research using historical research methods, with the following steps: 1) Heuristics or source collection through library research; 2) Source Criticism, namely comparison activities and selecting the validity of sources; 3) This interpretation or analysis stage has occurred either at the beginning of the research or during the post-research analysis process; 4) historiography or the last stage of this research in the form of historical scientific writings. The results of the study show that Islam entered Panam through Mandika slaves brought during the Spanish colonization there, but the development of Islamic da'wah only began to be intense during and after the construction of the canal, this da'wah was intensively carried out by Arab and South Asian immigrants, and reached its peak in 1850-1860's. Panama's constitution provides for religious freedom. Catholicism, Islam, Judaism, and several traditional Panamanian religions coexist in harmony. So far, Panama has given a positive picture of the Central America region which is very conducive and open to religious differences, especially in Islam.

Abstract

Tanjungpinang, one of the cities in Kepulauan Riau province in Indonesia, has been inherited with potential cultural heritage buildings. These buildings are witnesses of events from hundreds of years ago. One type of the heritage building is houses of worship such as mosques, churches and temples. The ancient house of worship is still normally visited by its believers and also becomes an alternative tourism attraction. This study aims to deal with the historicity of houses of worship and cope with the potentiality of cultural heritage becoming a heritage tourism destination. Rooting in a case study approach, this research explicates the potentiality of cultural heritage in Tanjungpinang as a heritage tourism destination. Further, a historical research method was employed to delve into the historicity of ancient houses of worship. The results indicate that the ancient house of worship in Tanjungpinang is potentially developed to be one of the heritage tourism destinations. The development of this tourism attraction is an effort of preserving cultural heritage buildings and the values therein

Abstract

This article examines the activities and motives of pilgrims at the Grave Pilgrimage Tradition ceremony at the Mausoleum of Puyang Muaro Danau, Mande Rubiah and Sheikh Burhanuddin. The tradition of visiting the grave is a tradition that has existed for a long time, even indications that this tradition existed before the arrival of Islam. Although eras and times have changed, the tradition of visiting the graves has not been eroded by the times, the interest and intention of pilgrims to visit the existing tombs continues and is even more crowded. The method used in this research is a field research method with a qualitative-descriptive approach, the data collection tools are participatory observation, interviews and document studies. With the finding that the tradition of visiting the graves, both the activities and the motives of the pilgrims to several tombs were found to be different.

Abstract

The Iranian Revolution was a revolution that changed the Iranian government system from a monarchy to an Islamic republic led by Imam Rahullah al-Musawi al-Khomeini. Imam Khomeini is a figure in Iran who is also known as the father of the Iranian Revolution of Fundamentalism. His mindset is heavily influenced by mystical, philosophical, and Sufism based on the Qur'an and Hadith. So from Imam Khomeini's thought, the occurrence of the Islamic revolution in Iran on February 11, 1979 brought changes in Iran itself.

Abstract

This research aims to interpret pattern of integration of economy-maritime in Muaro Sakai Port and describe historical and political-economic link between Indrapura Sultanate and Dutch Company. This research is library research with historical research method, they are: heuristic, verification, synthesis and historiography. Result of the research, prove that Indrapura Sultanate and Dutch Company had integration to raise maritime economy southern coast of Sumatra. They contributed for the trading in regional and international links with other company. Muaro Sakai Port had the biggest role from the transaction of trading such pepper, gold, and other spices to distribute untill foreign out of Sumatra certainly. The conclusion is effect of their cooperation, finally made Indrapura Sultanate reduced its sovereignty in coast of West Sumatra especially in political and economy. But in the other hand, Indrapura Kingdom become one of the success kingdom in Nusantara in international trading
