Abstract

This research seeks to explore the role of Maujana Nagori (BPD) in implementing village government in Merdeka District, Karo Regency, Indonesia. The BPD is a crucial institution in the decentralized governance structure of Indonesia, tasked with representing the interests of the local community, advising village heads, and facilitating decision-making processes. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods to gather rich, nuanced data on the BPD's functions, effectiveness, and challenges within the local governance structure. The findings of the analysis reveal that the BPD plays a critical role in promoting participatory democracy, fostering inclusive development, and strengthening governance institutions at the grassroots level. However, the effectiveness of the BPD is hampered by challenges such as limited resources, capacity constraints, and bureaucratic hurdles. Based on the findings, several recommendations are proposed to enhance the effectiveness of the BPD, including capacity-building programs, access to resources and expertise, transparency and accountability, and promoting community participation and engagement.

Abstract

This research examines the impact of government policies on foreign investment, focusing on their effectiveness in fostering sustainable economic growth and development. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature and empirical analysis, the study explores key policy instruments such as fiscal incentives, regulatory reforms, and sector-specific strategies. The findings highlight that well-designed policies can significantly enhance a country's attractiveness to foreign investors by reducing investment risks, improving infrastructure, and promoting technological innovation. However, persistent challenges such as political instability, corruption, inadequate infrastructure, and regulatory complexities continue to pose barriers to effective policy implementation. Case studies and comparative analyses illustrate successful policy interventions in countries like Singapore and South Korea, where strategic investments in education, infrastructure, and innovation have driven economic transformation. Abstract

This research investigates the impact of government policy on poverty alleviation, focusing on the effectiveness of various policy interventions and their influence on reducing poverty levels. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study combines quantitative analysis of statistical data with qualitative insights from surveys, interviews, and case studies. The research explores key areas including social protection programs, healthcare and education policies, economic reforms, and efforts to address systemic inequalities. Abstract

This research examines the effectiveness and impact of various government policies on drug eradication, focusing on punitive approaches, harm reduction strategies, and decriminalization/legalization efforts. The study reveals that traditional punitive measures, which emphasize criminalization and severe penalties, have been largely ineffective in reducing drug use and availability. Instead, these approaches have contributed to mass incarceration, social and racial inequalities, and significant economic and social costs. In contrast, harm reduction strategies, such as needle exchange programs and supervised injection sites, have shown substantial success in improving public health outcomes and proving cost-effective. Additionally, decriminalization and legalization efforts, particularly those involving the regulation of substances like cannabis, offer promising results, including increased tax revenues and reduced enforcement costs. The research highlights the importance of shifting towards evidence-based, public health-oriented approaches and addressing underlying social determinants of health. The findings contribute to a more nuanced understanding of drug policy effectiveness and offer valuable insights for future research and policy development.

Abstract

This research evaluates government policies aimed at improving the quality of basic education in urban areas, focusing on their effectiveness and impact on student outcomes. Through a mixed-methods approach, the study analyzes quantitative data from standardized test scores, attendance records, and teacher quality metrics, alongside qualitative insights from stakeholder interviews and focus groups. The findings reveal significant positive correlations between increased funding, professional development for teachers, and enhanced curriculum relevance with improved student performance and engagement. However, the evaluation also highlights persistent challenges, including inequities in resource distribution, high teacher turnover rates, and limited access to technology, which continue to hinder educational equity. The study underscores the need for comprehensive, multifaceted strategies that address systemic barriers and promote equitable educational opportunities for all students. Recommendations include sustained investment in urban education, enhanced support systems for teachers, and strengthened community partnerships. By integrating insights from this evaluation with existing literature, the research contributes to the ongoing discourse on effective educational reform in urban settings, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts to create an inclusive and high-quality educational environment for all learners.
