Abstract

Sengon (Paraserianthes falcataria Linn) wood is widely used as a particular furniture and craft materials due to many supply and low cost. But Sengon wood has a color that tends to be white and has a low-grade durable IV-V. Mean while the bark of Rhizophora apiculata Blume mangrove was unutilized and made a huge waste, so its need optimal handling. Staining of sengon wood from mangrove bark extract is expected to provide new innovations in increasing the value of environmentally friendly wood decorative and can increase the value of wood sengon timber. Natural dye extract of mangrove bark waste using concentration of 2.5%, 5%, 7%, and 10% dye solution applied on Sengon wood. The results showed that the color endurance at concentrations of 2.5% to 5% was quite good compared to the concentrations of 7.5% and 10%. This is proved by evidence of the value color change before the test with the color of wood after testing using hot and cold water. The highest termite mortality value occurred at a concentration of 10% and the lowest weight loss of the colored test sample was found at a concentration of 10%. At concentration 5% has shown the optimal result in increasing the durability value of Sengon wood which initially with class durable IV-V become class durable II. Dye extract of mangrove bark waste Rhizophora apiculata Blume can be used as dye and increased the durability value of Sengon wood with optimum concentration for the purpose of staining and durability of wood is at concentration 5%.Keywords: C. curvignathus, Concentration, Natural Dye, Sengon, Waste Mangrove Bark

Abstract

Common wood that used as a building material perceived increasingly difficult to obtain now. Therefore the need for efforts to overcome this condition partly by utilizing low quality wood (IV-V) like Mahang (Macaranga hypoleuca (Reichb.f.et Zoll.) M.A) in which quality can be improved by densification. There are two factors that have conducted in this research, first is steam time (40 minutes, 60 minutes and 80 minutes) and second one is temperature felts (160oC, 180oC and 200oC). Samples was made from Mahang beam with dimension is 30 cm (L) x 8 cm (W) x 4 cm (H), steamed in autoclave with temperature 120oC and hot pressed with a 30% target thicknes, the pressure felt 60 kg/cm2. Physical and mechanical process was conducted based on British Standard Methods No.373 (1957). The measured parameters are physical properties (moisture content, density and dimensional changes) and mechanical properties (MOE, MOR and MCS). Experimental designed that use in this research is 3x3 Factorial Experimental Design in a Completely Randomized Design with 3 replications. As the results of the research show that densification Mahang wood was improve the physical and mechanical properties. Abstract

Rubber is a forestry plant producing sap. Rubber latex is needed for various industrial purposes. Rubber is a side business as well as additional income for the community besides farming in Banua Tengah Village. The method used is a survey method with interview techniques. Sampling was done intentionally (purposive sampling). The number of samples taken was 61 respondents who were ; rubber farmers, married, worked tapping rubber and owning rubber plantations. Data analysis consists of calculating total income and multiple linear regression analysis. The analysis results obtained total income / Tr received by farmers around Rp. 390,000 - Rp. 2,840,500 / month, when compared to the UMR established by the Government in 2018, UMR Kapuas Hulu Regency is Rp. 2,204,650.00 / month, there are 2 (two) farmers who have an income above the minimum wage while 59 other farmers are still under the UMR There are four factors that influence the income of rubber farmers in Desa Banua Tengah namely land area, work experience, rubber age and workdays, of the four most influential factors are land area and workday variables, while the work experience and rubber age variables are not very influential. Factors of land area, work experience, rubber age and working days together greatly affect farmers' incomes with the equation of total income of rubber farmers as follows: ln Y =  9,817 +  0,397 ln X1 + 0,098 ln X2 + 0,061 ln X3 + 1,194 ln X4 Correlation value R = 0.928 and the value of determination R2 = 0.861 From these equations obtained a constant value of 9,817 which shows that income from rubber farmers (Ŷ) in Desa Banua Tengah is Rp. 9,817 if X₁, X₂, X3 and X4 are considered zero. Ŷ is positively correlated with X₁, X₂, X3 and X4.Keywords: Influential factors, Latex, Rubber farmers, Total income
