Abstract

This research is motivated by the use of language in the Indonesia Lawyers Club (ILC) event on TvOne. Focusing on four episodes at the Indonesia Lawyers Club (ILC). Debates and discussions at the Indonesia Lawyers Club (ILC) show the opinions of each invited resource who convey ideas to strengthen their arguments in various ways of conveying. This study aims to describe speech acts. assertive in the Indonesia Lawyers Club (ILC) on TvOne (pragmatic study). This type of research is qualitative-descriptive by collecting data using documentation techniques by downloading videos on the official TvOne website. Furthermore, using the listening method with the basic technique of listening to the free to engage proficiently because the researcher listens to the use of language during the discussion and the technique of taking notes on the data inventory table. The data that has been collected is then analyzed in three steps, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion or verification. In the data analysis, the researcher also used the equivalent method, the change method with the dressing technique, and the markup reading method to determine the classification of speech acts.

Abstract

This study is conducted to answer Language errors in Malay and their solutions. This study deals with difficulties coped by the teachers in planning, conducting and evaluating the learning.  Methods of  collection data  using the interview method. The technique of data analysis is done by using reduction, presentation, conclusion drawing and data verification. The amount research respondents are around 8 people, namely the teachers at Tadika Al-Hidayah Bendang Jerambung, Southern Thailand. Based on the results of the study, it shows that there are still language errors in Malay, such as the use of the word contamination of the Patani area in Malay, the illogical use of sentences, the use of inappropriate punctuation marks, and errors in the use of prepositions. The factors that cause language errors in Malay are the lack of literacy activities, the habit of using everyday language, the lack of seriousness in learning time in class, and the Malay language learning curriculum cannot fulfill. Based on the perspective of learning in Indonesia, the solutions that can be offered are the implementation of the School Literacy Movement, the preparation of good learning plans, and the application of text-based learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the imperative mode of directive speech acts of students in the Indonesian language learning process at SMK Negeri 5 Jember. Speech acts are used as the focus of the study by utilizing the learning process in the classroom. The data used in this study are speech segments containing directive speech acts with the imperative mode of students and their context. Observation technique is a data collection technique used in this study. The source of the data used in this research is directive speech acts with the imperative mode of students in the learning process. The results of this study indicate that in the process of learning Indonesian at SMK Negeri 5 Jember, various types of directive speech acts with imperative mode are found, including directive speech acts of advocating, requesting, prohibiting, and urging imperative mode. Then it was also found that the function of the directive illocutionary act with an imperative mode which includes the function of the directive illocutionary act of asking, ordering, requesting, and giving advice. In addition, it was also found that the strategies used were direct literal and indirect literal speech act strategies with imperative mode.

Abstract

Indonesia and Egypt have close relationship and cooperation in several fields. One of them is education and culture. In Egypt there are thousands of Indonesians who are studying, especially at Al-Azhar University. In addition, there are also hundreds of Egyptians who are learning Indonesian language and culture both in Egypt and in Indonesia. The Atdikbud office of the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo has opened the Indonesian Cultural Center (Puskin) in the Dokki area, for Egyptians who are interested in Indonesian language and culture can study and practice there. At Puskin, Egyptians can learn Indonesian dances, traditional music, and its martial arts silat. This platform is not just for locals but for other nationalities too. Apart from Puskin, the Center for Indonesian Studies (PSI) also opened at the Canal Suez University in Ismailiah City and the Al-Azhar BIPA Office at Al-Azhar University in Cairo. Recently, the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Indonesian Embassy in collaboration with Al-Azhar University opened an Indonesian Language Study Program at the Faculty of Language and Translation. This study program is the first program in Egypt even among Arab peninsula. This paper discusses the spread of Indonesian language in Egypt; Egyptian BIPA learning implementation plan; The characteristics of BIPA learning from two perspectives, namely the point of view of Egyptian students who have studied Indonesian language in Egypt and in Indonesia, and the point of view of BIPA teachers whose teaching Indonesian language in Egypt and Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the use of vocabulary for self-image by users of social media facebook. This study aims to: (1) describe the form of exponential vocabulary for self-image on social media facebook; (2) describe the form of relational vocabulary for self-image on social media facebook; (3) describe the form of expressive vocabulary for self-image on social media facebook. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach by using a type of critical discourse analysis research. The critical discourse analysis model used is Fairclough's critical discourse analysis model. This study uses qualitative descriptive research design that focuses on the research process and results. The data in this study were sourced from posts by Facebook social media users. Data collection techniques were carried out in two stages, namely: observation and documentation. The results of the study reveal that the forms of the expansive vocabulary found in this study are classification, ideological words that are fought for, lexicalization, synonyms, antonyms, hyponyms, and metaphors. The forms of relational vocabulary found in this study are euphemistic expressions, formal words, informal words, greetings, names, and personal references. The forms of expressive vocabulary found in this study are in the form of positive evaluation and negative evaluation. The use of vocabulary forms for self- image is used to support efforts to build self-image carried out on Facebook social media by Facebook social media users.
