Creativity and collaboration are known as one of learning objective in today’s teaching and learning process. However, creativity and collaboration have not been highly promoted in students’ activities in developing learning media. Regarding that there are many people, especially English teachers and students, in Indonesia who have not been aware of how developing learning media contributes in the development of creativity and collaboration, this research is aimed to focus on describing the creativity and collaboration of the sixth semester students of English department in developing their learning media. The base of this research is using descriptive qualitative as research design. The data were gained through observations and interview. The result of this study figure out that most of students are demanded to think creatively and collaborate in developing learning media. Combination of ideas from various sources, understanding of the material, problem solving and the use of learning media itself were creativity indicators that always appears in developing learning media. While discussion, sharing task and help each other are prominent collaboration indicators in developing learning media. In addition, the results of this study stated that by giving assignments to develop learning media, students are greatly helped in practicing creativity and collaboration and have a better understanding of the material.

Pada era globalisasi, Bahasa Inggris telah menjadi salah satu Bahasa yang cukup sering digunakan. Bahasa Inggris bahkan telah menjadi Lingua Franca atau Bahasa penguhubung antarnegara. Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris kepada anak usia dini sangat penting untuk melahirkan generasi yang lebih cemerlang. Namun, tidak semua guru dapat menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang mendukung. Padahal, menciptakan suasana yang baik sangat diperlukan untuk menunjang hasil pembelajaran yang maksimal. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melakukan sebuah studi tentang pengembangan media pembelajaran untuk anak usia dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran tentang proses pengembangan media pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. FIBO Game dapat digunakan oleh siswa kelas 5 jenjang Sekolah Dasar untuk memperluas pengetahuan kosakata. Dalam pengembanga FIBO Game, peneliti menggunakan metode Design and Development Research. Pengambilan data untuk percobaan media dalam penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah 10 siswa kelas 5 dari beberapa sekolah dasar yang berbeda di Tuban. Sebelum di uji cobakan, FIBO Game telah mendapatkan pengesahan dari para ahli media. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa FIBO Game dapat menarik minat siswa untuk belajar Bahasa Inggris. Dalam penggunaan FIBO Game, beberapa siswa masih memiliki kesulitan yang meliputi materi yang belum dipahami. Sebagai kesimpulan, FIBO Game telah terbukti memenuhi kebutuhan siswa dalam pembelajaran kosakata. Implikasi dari penelitian ini dipertimbangkan untuk pendidik agar dapat menciptakan suasana belajar yang menarik dengan media.

This study mainly discussedteachers’ experiences related to the implementation and problems while using kid animations on YouTube as one of the learning media in the context of teaching vocabulary to young learners. Indeed, kid animations are suitableto be implemented by teachers in this advanced era because ofthe technology’s development. On the one hand, teaching vocabulary to young learners belongs to a significant matter since vocabulary itself is the main foundation for a person who wants to learn a language, especially for young learnerswho have an audio-visual learning style.So, this study was designed as qualitative researchby using 2 instruments, which were: observation, and open-ended interviews with 2 English 5thgrade teachers in one of Islamic school in Sumenep, East Java, Indonesia.The result of this study revealedthat the 3 stepsof the implementation of this learning media starting from: Pre-implementing, while-implementing, and post-implementing couldbe utilizedso wellin the class. Furthermore, the study showedthat the teachers have solutive ways when they face several obstacles in using thislearningmedia. Therefore, the researcher claimed that this study will help and inform the readers when they want to apply kid animations on YouTube as attractive learning media in teaching vocabulary to young learners.

This study aimed to determine whether the Jamboard can improve the reading abilities of senior high school students. This research employed a quantitative approach. This research was conducted using a pre-experimental design. This study utilized only one class group. Hence there was no experimental class and no control class. The instruments used in this investigation are the pre-test and post-test. The researcher designed the instructional materials, lesson plan, pre-and post-tests, and the media. Both the pre-test and post-test were presented in G-form. The pre-and post-tests comprised four texts and twenty questions in total. The pre-test was administered before administering treatment to the students, whereas the post-test was issued after the treatment. The treatment consisted of four sessions. This investigation was conducted at a private senior high school in Surabaya, with the participation of 12 tenth-graders. The post-test scores of the students were much higher than their pre-test scores. The mean of the pre-test score was 42.92 and 75.42 for the post-test, and the data indicated that this media had a significant effect size on the students' reading abilities because it has a value of 2.3 from the standard that has been set, which is <0.5. Therefore, it can be concluded that Jamboard media can help improve students' reading ability because the data results show a significant increase in student scores. Also, the researcher suggests that this Jamboard media can be used to teach students how to read because it has a positive effect on both teachers and students as they learn.

Social media has gained massive popularity over the last ten years. As the result, social media is used in many different sectors including in education. As an educator, teachers can utilize social media as a tool to facilitate the student’s experiences, especially in language learning. Furthermore, among the popular social media, Instagram has been widely used in the educational field following its features where it is possibly used in language learning activities. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the secondary-level students' perceptions about the use of Instagram to practice speaking English in EFL classroom. This is a quantitative descriptive study that uses a survey to collect the data. Furthermore, a set of Likert-scale questionnaires with four option scales is used as the instrument. The population of the study was eleventh-grade students from one of a private schools in Surabaya. Furthermore, the sample of this study was 52 students taken by convenience sampling. The result of the study shows that the students see Instagram positively. The students find Instagram as a tool that provides a new way for them to practice speaking English. Instagram offers a different atmosphere for the students to practice, and it helps them to be more confident. Additionally, they also feel motivated.

One of the well-known digital game-based media is called Quizizz. Quizizzis an instructional media that is very helpful in learning and helps students enjoy and have more fun when taking lessons. This research aimsto describe how students’ perception and motivation towards the use of “Quizizz” in the classroom. This research used a qualitative method since it employed a case study. Moreover, the researcher conducts this research in a limited or small-scale study case. The data source in this research is students from one of Junior High School in Surabaya. The researcher used observation and semi-structured interview to get the deeper data from the participants. The participants of this research are eight students from online classes. The researcher uses descriptive data analysis to interpret the transcribed data from the interview. Learning vocabulary using instructional media “Quizizz” succeedsin attracting students' attention to keep them following the lesson. Students’ perception towards the use of Quizizz as a learning media in the classroom gives positive responses. When students are interested in the lesson, they get more motivated and easier for them to understand the materials. This research focuses on how students’ perception and motivation towards digital game-based media "Quizizz" as instructional media to learn English vocabulary in the classroom. Using appropriate and interesting media as a learning tool can help students be more interested and motivated in following the English lessons.

The background of this study is since in the academic year 2019/2020, 36 students from one of thePublic Junior High Schools in Sidoarjo, who need to strengthen their speaking skills.Some of themdidn't know how toproperly present their views.This study aims to learn about: (a) the use of vlogging as a learning medium for Junior High students in speaking Descriptive Text, (b) the performance of students who use vlog as a learning medium in speaking Descriptive Text, and (c) the students' reactions to using vlog as a learning medium in speaking Descriptive Text. This research is implemented a qualitative and Descriptive research Design. Interview and Students’ vlog were the instruments that were applied in this research. The researcher analyzed the data using 3 steps, they are assemblingthedata,codingthedata,andcomparingthedata.Ineachstep,theresearcherneedsStudents’andteachers’participation to complete the data. The researcher found that Vlogging can be positively used in teaching Descriptive Text, especially in speaking skill. The implementation of Vlog strongly affects them. It is hoped that boosting Vlog with smart vlogging stages and scoring reflection as feedback would enhance students' English-speaking abilities

Writing performance is an aspect correlated significantly to writing as one of the essential part in the school curriculum. While writing self-efficacy is what students believe in the way they engaged with writing activities which is a multi-dimensions of linguistic self-efficacy, self-regulatory self-efficacy, and performance self-efficacy. Previous studies indicate that there is a significant correlation between students’ writing performance and their writing self-efficacy, but there is no research discussing it at secondary level of students. Thus, the current study is aimed to find out the writing self-efficacy level of secondary students and analyze whether there is any correlation between students writing' self-efficacy and their writing performance at secondary level, especially in writing descriptive text. The data are collected through conducting L2WSS survey on 20-40 eleventh grade students from SMA Negeri 1 Sumenep, valuing their writing performance using a Level-Specific Checklist of Binary Choice Items, and finally examining the correlation between writing self-efficacy and writing performance using SPSS 2016 program. The result shows that mean value of students writing self-efficacy is 4.83 from the range of 1-2 as the low level, 3-5 as the moderate, and 6-7 as the high, so it is considered as a moderate level of writing self-efficacy. While the correlational analysis shows significance value is 0.602 which is more than 0.05 (p>0.05), so that means there is no significance correlation between students writing self-efficacy and their writing performance at secondary level especially in writing descriptive text. An Analysis of Speaking Anxiety in Public Speaking Performance

The common problem that often arises during public speaking is speaking anxiety among students. This triggers students’ understanding that public speaking is difficult to do. Therefore, this study was carried out to determine the existence of speaking anxiety among students and what factors trigger the emergence of speaking anxiety in public speaking. This study uses two types of instruments. The first is a questionnaire adapted from the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS). The questionnaire was used to obtain data on the existence of speaking anxiety in students. The data was taken from 47 students from the Excellent English Club (EEC) extracurricular at SMA Negeri 1 Babat, Lamongan. The second instrument is an interview, which is used to find out the factors that arise during public speaking. Based on the results of the study, the average score of the questionnaire shows that speaking anxiety belongs to an existing category when students do public speaking, and the results from interviews also show several factors, such as being afraid of making mistakes, having bad experience, and insecurity, that affect students’ performance when performing public speaking. The present study focuses on senior high students who are likely to have problems with their speaking anxiety during public speaking. Keywords: speaking anxiety, public speaking, EFL learners

Pecha Kucha is one of the styles of presentation that gives a new dimension of conventional presentation which is long, wordy, and boring. The researcher still do not know how the participants of Pecha Kucha competition make use of Pecha Kucha for learning to speak English. This study will investigate The Use of Pecha for Speaking English by Students Participating in Pecha Kucha Competition. This research is case study. The researcher used Qualitative method to analyze data. The subjects of this study were 15 participants who join National Pecha Kucha Competitions in 2017 and 2019 which is conducted by Lembaga Bahasa LIA. All participants were Senior High School student at that time. The data were collected through questionnaire on how students make use of Pecha Kucha and the speaking skills that they have learned by using Pecha Kucha. The questionnaire was followed by an interview session to get the deeper information about the questions in questionnaire. However, from the questionnaire followed by interview, the researcher found that participants make use of Pecha Kucha for speaking English starting from make an outline, script & get correction, and practice until the day of competition. They also learned five components of speaking skills from Pecha Kucha namely, pronunciation, grammar, fluency, and expression, and also participant added one component of speaking skill which is vocabulary. To summarize, the finding of this study showed that Pecha Kucha helps participants speaking English starting from preparing materials until delivering the presentation to engage the audience.
