The International Journal of Research in Vocational Studies (IJRVOCAS) is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal. This journal provides full open access to its content on the principle that making research freely and independently available to the science community and the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge and the further development of expertise in the field of vocational education and training (VET). IJRVOCAS is since the beginning independent from any non-scientific third-party funding. The establishment of the journal was supported between 2015 and 2016 with grants from the Yayasan Ghalih Pelopor Pendidikan (Ghalih Foundation). All members of IJRVOCAS work on an honorary basis. The journal is hosted by Ghalih Publishing and the publishing house of the Ghalih Academic. Scope IJRVOCAS covers all topics of VET-related research from pre-vocational education (PVE), initial vocational education and training (IVET) and career and technical education (CTE) to workforce education (WE), human resource development (HRD), professional education and training (PET) and continuing vocational education and training (CVET).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the parameters that actively affect the efficiency of gas power plants in order to optimize their performance. The method used in this study was an analytical approach based on the results of performance tests conducted in 2018, 2020, and 2022 on gas power plants in the sumatera selatan area, based on thermodynamic equations. Based on the results of the study, it is explained that there is a very significant relationship between the inlet air temperature of the compressor, the inlet fuel temperature, and the turbine exhaust temperature and active power to the efficiency of gas-fired power plants, where an increase in the inlet air temperature to the compressor will reduce the compressor efficiency, which is predicted using linear regression with an R2=0.82. An increase in the exhaust temperature and active power will significantly reduce the thermal cycle efficiency, which is predicted using linear regression with an average R2 =0.96. In addition, an increase in the fuel mass flow rate and inlet fuel temperature will increase the turbine efficiency, which is predicted using linear regression with an average R2 =0.97. Therefore, the relationships obtained in this study can be used as a reference for energy companies and governments in developing more efficient gas-fired power plants in the future

Abstract

A fish has the natural perishable character because of the high concentration of water. The fish production have to be utilized in fast and accurate before the spoilage caused by the bacterial activity. One of the ways on utilizing fish is to be prepared as diversification products which is meatballs, and ect. The production of Tuna meatballs in Regency of Morotai Island is still in the standard level that probable to be improved. The improvement of the meatballs was made with the use of natural dye. One of the natural dye that can be used as food extraction (BTP) is Caisim (Brassica juncea L.). The purpose of this research is to create the meatballs product with Caisim (a kind of Chinese vegetable) and evaluate the product’s characteristics used the organoleptic test. The production was made at the Laboratory of Fisheries and Marine in University of Pacific Morotai. There were 50 untrained panelists. The result of this research is the diversification of Tuna meatballs with natural dye Caisim (Brassica juncea L) is successfully made and named with ‘Pucuk Meatballs’ (Bakso Pucuk). The Characteristics product of ‘Pucuk Meatballs’ has a smooth surface, not bladdery, and bright; the product’s specific fragrance; also, compact and rubbery texture.

Abstract

Jakabaring PLTS on-grid with a capacity of 2 MW operates from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm. At 5:00 pm the PLTS connection to the load will be disconnected and replaced with PLN. If the PLN is off due to damage or during maintenance, a generator that is operated manually will be used. Problems in the process of combining energy sources from Solar Panels to PLN require a power target of up to 10 Kva where if the power is fulfilled then the energy source from Photovoltaic (PV) will be connected to PLN and vice versa. Errors and speed in operation can be minimized by means of automation of the system operating the power supply to the load by using a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). Optimization as a step to optimize the electricity supply in the PLTS area makes it the first source of power generation that is connected to the load, the second order is PLN if the PLTS has no power output or there is a problem and the third order is generators if PLN and PLTS have no power output. For this reason, a tool is needed that functions to move the power source alternately using a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) as an ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) process controller, where the tool will work automatically changing the power source if there is a disturbance that causes it to be unable to supply electricity to the user's load and also as a priority regulator of solar power sources as the main source of electricity to the load. When transferring loads from one source to another with 3 different power sources, it is faster and more effective to use an ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) with a PLC controller compared to Manual or COS (Change Over Switch).
