Journal Research Fair UNISRI is a peer-refereed open-access journal which has been established for the dissemination of state of the art knowledge in every field. Abstract

The process of building character takes place continuously and should be done through education in line with the goals to be achieved. Literature studies on character building can be viewed from various aspects, including through learning a particular field of study, through developing thinking skills; integrating cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains; focusing on science and technology and imtaq, and developing a scientific attitude. Character building through the development of higher order thinking skills is an alternative in science education. Habits of mind as intelligent behavior are far more important than providing students with higher-order thinking skills through science education. Habits of mind in the sense of intelligent behavior can be trained and its achievement measured. All of this is possible if science education emphasizes project-based learning. The project-based approach in science learning is an interesting field to research, because it has a high value in improving the quality of student learning in shaping character. Keywords: Higher order thinking skills, science education, character building, project based learning.

Abstract

This reseacrh focuses on analyzing the effects of a market revitalization program on traditional markets in Surakarta City. Surakarta City is one of the cities in Central Java province that cares about the preservation of traditional culture. Traditional culture for the government and society of Surakarta is the basis of regional development. So that the realization in maintaining this traditional culture is by revitalizing traditional markets in Surakarta. Market revitalization is a manifestation of a people's economy that involves the role of the state in advancing traditional markets. Market revitalization is an improvement from the condition of the market which initially did not have complete facilities and was remodeled into a traditional market that has the latest characteristics. This program is used to improve quality in traditional markets in order to compete with modern markets. Pasar Gede is the target place for market revitalization. Pasar Gede is one of the oldest and largest markets in Surakarta City. The results of the research theoretically obtain information that there is a positive effect in the form of increasing income for traders in the market because it attracts consumers with new buildings and completeness of goods sold in it. However, there are also negative effects, namely in the form of conflicts that occur due to differences of opinion between traders and the government. Therefore, there will be some suggestions presented in this article.

Abstract

The history of Indonesian Film only gains little attention from Indonesian scholars, until now there are no handbooks and textbooks that can guide researchers and communication historians to understand this field. This illustrates that Indonesian film history is still an under-researched field. This study seeks to mapped references on the history of Indonesian cinema. The method used is library research. Sources of data are from the National Library, Jakarta; National Press Monument, Surakarta; and the Garba Rujukan Digital (Garuda) portal from Ristekbrin. The data shows that the mapping of film history can be divided into 3 genres, namely, government policies and film censorship in Indonesia, the history of film development, and biographies of film people.
