Abstract

The Jambi City Public Library has been established since 2009 with an average of 30.000 visitors per year, except in the last 2 years due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. The Library has a total collection of 26,703 titles and 59,397 copies. As a public library that routinely serves users, the problem faced by the Library is the order of the call number. Observing this, the Library is trying to control the quality of call numbers so that there is an increase in the quality of service to users. The formulation of the problem in this study is how to control the quality of call numbers at the Library. The purpose of this study is to carry out quality control of call numbers. The methodology used in this research is qualitative descriptive approach. The results of this study formulate call number quality control applying PDCA or the Deming’ Cycle by monitoring and evaluating call numbers using two (2) approaches, (1) quality control during proccesing with stage: total shelving and daily shelving, and selection. (2) quality control of finished goods by means: validation, repair of call numbers. Also, it is necessary to adjust the SOP for Library Material Processing by adding inspection activities to existing collections, especially in the database, to ensure the books have not been processed so that there is no duplication of call numbers. The recommendation of this study is that call number quality control must be continuously implemented so that the maximum quality of user service is obtained.

Abstract

Antiquariat collections for taxonomic researchers are very vital collections because they are used to compare species found in the field. To fulfill this, the LIPI Scientific Data and Documentation Center conducted a survey on the use of antiquariat collections by researchers in the Cibinong area library, Purwodadi area library, Bogor-Cibodas area library, Ambon area library and Jakarta area library. The survey aims to (1) determine the utilization of antiquariat collections available in the library; (2) knowing the management of the types of antiquariat collections available in the library; (3) know the procedures for storing antiquariat collections. The survey was conducted on April 27 to May 31, 2021 using the google form. The survey results state that researchers need antiquariat collections as a source of reference and a source of knowledge in conducting research. The researcher supports the transfer of antiquariat collection media in digital form. The special room for the storage of antiquariat collections has not met the requirements, causing the collections to be easily fragile and damaged. The high intensity of use is one of the factors causing damage to the collection. Media transfer on antiquariat collections needs to be done immediately to prevent damage and facilitate its use by researchers. Based on the facts in the field and the results of the survey, it is recommended to prepare a special storage room for antiquariat collections, immediately carry out the transfer of antiquariat collection media, and procure collections or collaborate on the use of antiquariat collections.

Abstract

Regulations for the appointment of librarian functional positions through the inpassing channel provide opportunities for employees in the library to further improve their careers. The minimum requirement of a two-year service period to participate in the inpassing program makes the opportunity to switch to a functional. Inpassing opportunity will not only serve as a means of increasing income and make work longer, but it will also improve performance and more achievement. With competence and motivation so that all of this can be realized. This research was conducted to determine the level of work motivation of the inpassing librarian at the UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya Library. The method used is Mixed Methods Research, which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods in one study to obtain more complete, valid, and objective data. Data were collected through observation, questionnaire, and interview techniques based on McClelland's three main elements of motivation, that is Achievement, Power, and Affiliation. Based on the result of quantitative data analysis, can be concluded that the level of work motivation of inpassing librarians has a high category or in the range of 96%. This result is suitable with qualitative data states that the high motivation of inpassing librarians is cause oral and written achievements, ability in managing and controlling of work section, and good interaction with managers and colleagues.

Abstract

Indonesian Center for Agricultural Library and Technology Dissemination is known as PUSTAKA has made a breakthrough by providing social inclusion services. The inclusion activity is carried out through collaboration between librarians and other professions. This study aims to determine the readiness of librarians to collaborate with other professions, the barriers to collaboration, and the abilities that librarians must possess to collaborate. The method in this study is a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subject of this study is the librarian at PUSTAKA. We found that: 1) librarians had collaborated with extension workers and felt the benefits of this collaboration; 2) obstacles faced are misscommunication, lack of capital, limited land, and lack of time. These obstacles can be overcome by proper communication and cooperation with other related parties. The collaboration between librarians and other profession is relevant to the dissemination of agricultural innovations. The librarian's skills related to cooperation include communication skills, problem solving skills, adaptability, and emotional intelligence. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that librarians and library managers are ready to collaborate with other professions. In future studies, it is necessary to review the librarian within the Ministry of Agriculture along with the models of cooperation that have been implemented.

Abstract

The library of SMKN 1 Trenggalek is one of the important aspects in every academic learning activity, because it is a source of learning references. In order to make the library more attractive, the library building is arranged in such a way as to meet the needs of its users. The library space is a contributing factor to the smooth implementation of the library manager's duties. Without adequate space, library work cannot run well. This study attempts to analyze the balance of interior design of the SMKN 1 Trenggalek library as a means of educating students. The existence of this research is to find out the interior of the library and the role of the SMKN 1 Trenggalek library as a means of educating students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through observation, interviews and documentation. The data obtained in this study include primary data and secondary data presented in narrative form. The results of this study found that the library of SMKN 1 Trenggalek applies an attractive modern concept library interior design according to the wishes of students. From this modern concept, it can be an attraction for students to visit the library to conduct knowledge and information search activities in learning at school that are not obtained in class. Hence, the practical application of the existing library interior design has played a role as a means of educating students in attracting students to always visit the library which makes the number of users increase and the library can function at its best.

Abstract

Indonesia has a lower number of research quality than other countries. Repositories of scientific works through university libraries in Indonesia can be an alternative reference for academics in compiling research. Academic writings published by academics of a campus can be a reference for other academics to compile further research. This study aims to analyze whether there is a correlation between the number of scientific papers and publications on Scopus. This study uses quantitative methods with secondary data. The independent variable is the number of scientific works majoring in information science libraries at the Airlangga University library. The dependent variable is the number of publications on the Scopus website. Data were analyzed by simple linear regression method. The data range of this study is for the last five years, namely from 2014 to 2021. The results of this study indicate that the F value is proven to be significant because the P-Value is below 0.05. This proves that the number of theses significantly affects the number of publications on Scopus with topics or majors about libraries. This is because in addition to the campus requires a lot of research outputs, namely publications, there are also many theses that can be developed so that they can be used as good writings, so that they can be published in Scopus indexed journals. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the largest number of theses was produced in 2017, but did not correlate with the number of papers on Scopus in 2017.

Abstract

Pembaruan produk hukum pelaksanaan Serah Simpan Karya Cetak dan Karya Rekam (SS KCKR) di Indonesia pada tahun 2018 secara otomatis mengubah beberapa poin dalam penyerahan dan penerimaan karya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai implementasi produk hukum SS KCKR terbaru, yaitu Undang-Undang Nomor 13 Tahun 2018 dan Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 55 Tahun 2021 di Perpustakaan Nasional, serta hambatan dan strategi dalam pengimplementasiannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menerapkan metode studi kasus. Adapun pengumpulan datanya dilakukan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara, dan studi dokumen. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat diketahui bahwa implementasi produk hukum SS KCKR terbaru di Perpustakaan Nasional sudah dilakukan dengan cukup baik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari telah dilakukannya poin-poin pelaksanaan SS KCKR, mulai dari penyerahan karya, pengelolaan karya, pendanaan, peran serta masyarakat, hingga pemberian penghargaan dan sanksi sebagaimana diamanatkan dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 13 Tahun 2018 dan Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 55 Tahun 2021. Di luar hal tersebut, masih ada beberapa hambatan yang perlu dihadapi Pelaksana Serah dan Perpustakaan Nasional selaku Pelaksana Simpan dalam pengimplementasian produk hukum SS KCKR, seperti sosialisasi yang belum merata, sarana dan prasarana yang belum memadai, biaya pengiriman karya yang tinggi, sistem yang belum terintegrasi, dan belum maksimalnya penyerahan karya tentang Indonesia yang diterbitkan di luar negeri.
