Abstract

This observational study aims to describe the implementation of health and hygiene at TK Aisyiyah Pucangan 1 Sukoharjo. The study focuses on the cleanliness of the school environment, the practice of clean and healthy living behaviours (PHBS), and the availability of sanitation facilities and health-supporting infrastructure. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with teachers, and document analysis. The results of the study show that the institution has consistently applied hygiene standards. The school environment appears well-maintained, classrooms are well-organized, and students are accustomed to practicing clean living behaviours through teacher guidance in daily activities. However, some aspects still need improvement, such as the availability of handwashing soap, which is not always consistently maintained, and the first aid kit equipment, which is not yet fully complete.  These findings emphasize the need to strengthen sanitation facilities and health services to optimally support the habit of healthy living behaviours (PHBS) in early childhood education environments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) among young adults. ACEs refers to negative and potentially traumatic events in childhood, including abuse, neglect, and family dysfunction, which may shape emotional development and influence interpersonal relationships later in life. Meanwhile, IPV encompasses physical, psychological, and sexual violence, as well as controlling behaviours occurring within intimate relationships. This research employed a quantitative correlational design using purposive sampling, involving 318 young adult respondents. Data were collected using the ACEs questionnaire and the Conflict Tactics Scale 2 (CTS2). The data analysis consisted of normality testing, linearity testing, Spearman correlation analysis, and nonparametric difference tests using the Mann–Whitney and Kruskal–Wallis tests due to the non-normal distribution of data. The results indicate a positive and significant relationship between ACEs and IPV (ρ = 0.366; p < 0.001), suggesting that higher levels of childhood trauma are associated with a greater likelihood of experiencing intimate partner violence. Additionally, most respondents fell into the moderate categories of both ACEs (73.6%) and IPV (53.8%). These findings highlight the long-term impact of childhood adversity on romantic relationships and underscore the importance of trauma-informed prevention efforts.

Abstract

The dynamics of family communication play an important role in shaping children's understanding of gender equality, especially in the context of a society that still internalizes traditional gender stereotypes. Parents often unconsciously reproduce gender biases through everyday interactions, both verbally and through the division of domestic tasks. This study aims to analyse the influence of family communication patterns on the formation of children's understanding of gender equality, as well as to identify forms of family communication that support or hinder this understanding. The method used is a literature review of Indonesian research in the last five years related to family communication and gender socialization.  The study results indicate that open, dialogic, empathetic, and stereotype-free communication enhances children's understanding of gender equality. Conversely, authoritarian, rigid communication, as well as inconsistencies between words and actions, tend to perpetuate unequal gender patterns. These findings emphasize the importance of family communication practices that are inclusive and gender sensitive as a foundation for internalizing the values of equality from an early age.

Abstract

Early adulthood is a crucial developmental phase characterized by the search for self-identity, the need for emotional intimacy, and the development of maturity in interpersonal relationships. However, this process is often accompanied by relational dynamics that are not always adaptive, including the occurrence of intimate partner violence (IPV) in romantic relationships. This study aims to analyse the relationship between IPV and interpersonal trust in early adult individuals in Indonesia. The study uses a correlational quantitative design involving 347 participants aged 20–40 who have a history of either giving or receiving dating violence. The research instruments used were the IPV scale and Interpersonal Trust scale, both showing high reliability (α = 0.920 and α = 0.932). As the data were not normally distributed (p < 0.001), the analysis was conducted using Spearman correlation. The results showed a significant positive correlation between IPV and interpersonal trust (Rs = 0.254, p < 0.001).  These findings contradict the general theory and previous research results, which tend to show a negative relationship, thereby providing new insights into the characteristics of interpersonal trust in the context of romantic relationships in Indonesia.

Abstract

The phenomenon of emotional and behavioural difficulties in children, characterized by emotional instability and challenges in social interactions, requires systematic handling strategies based on the individual needs of the child. This study aims to identify and describe strategic approaches in managing the behaviour of children with emotional and behavioural disorders at PAUD Inklusi Saymara. The research methods were conducted through in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature review. The findings reveal that behaviour management strategies are implemented through synergy between teachers, parents, and therapists, supported by the application of structured daily routines, healthy eating patterns, and proper rest schedules for children. The implementation of these strategies has been proven to improve emotional stability, concentration in learning, and self-regulation abilities. Nevertheless, the study found obstacles in the form of low consistency of support at home and suboptimal parental involvement.  Therefore, the sustainability of the strategy requires cross-environment coordination and strengthening the role of the family as a partner in inclusive education.
