Abstract

The aim of this study is to in silico screen new glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) inhibitors. glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase is the first and regulator of pentose phosphate pathway providing NADPH and ribose-5-phosphate required for various syntheses from fatty acids to DNA. G6PD is linked to oxidative stress and hence, to inflammation as well. Therefore, G6PD inhibition is a useful target against inflammation, cancer and some infections. Virtual screening of 15 ligands in the NADP-binding site in comparison with the standard inhibitor 6-aminonicotinamide using iGEMDOCK. Besides, ADME properties of the selected compounds were performed via SWISSADME webserver. All the tested ligands were better than reference inhibitor in terms of binding energy as well as pharmacokinetic and ADME parameters. Moreover, of all tested compounds, ligand 15 showed best docking fitness (-115 Kcal/mole total energy). Novel compounds were screened to be lead inhibitors of G6PD enzyme and ligand 15 ranked first.

Abstract

To maintain the benefits and improve the course procedure for the next year, this work is devoted to evaluating my course of computer at the faculty of tourism at the Lebanese University during the academic year 2021–2022. Additionally, we want to mention that this method can be used as a model for any similar course evaluation. According to the results, some variables of grades are normally distributed while others are not normally distributed. The final grade average and partial grade average for each student are different from one another. Final grades were statistically equal for both male and female students. The final grade average for this year and last year is the same. There is a correlation between participation and presence grades and the other grades, except the mid-exam grades. Also, the final grades and all other grades, except the mid-exam grades, are correlated. For the following year, we need to make sure that students attend more lectures to raise their grades. Also, to have an impact on final grades, we need to put more effort into mid-exam preparation.

Abstract

The coastline of Palompon, Leyte has endowed with rich seagrass abundance and diversity which supports the well-established Siganid industry. Baseline information on the cover and species composition were gathered using the transect-quadrat method. Results showed that there were four (4) species of seagrasses identified in the coastal area of Tinabilan, Palompon, Leyte. Cymodocea rotundata and Thalassia hemprichii were observed in all the sampling stations. The average percentage cover of seagrasses was 8.36% which revealed in poor condition. However, the poor percentage cover condition can be associated with the topography and environmental factors in the area which is observed to have been dominated with rocky-sandy substrate and high temperature which possibly affects negatively the biological processes of the seagrass species.

Abstract

Flooding is an environmental hazard that needs appropriate measures to be instituted to stem the tide of occurrence. The study relied on previous academic/scholarly articles in achieving the aim.  It was noted in the study that flooding is caused by natural and human activities. For instance, excessive rainfall, terrain and nature of soils are natural causes of flooding. Furthermore, poor environmental planning/monitoring, housing development in flood prone areas, deforestation, haphazard developments resulting in the blockage of drains, poor waste disposal practices, negligence by government in designing and implementing policies at various levels as well as poor environmental planning and weak enforcement of policies contribute to flood occurrence. To this end, the present study suggested that government should ensure that environmental management policies are properly enforced in the country. Equally, development control activities should be taken seriously to avoid erecting developments on flood plains and flood prone areas. Finally, regular environmental education should be given priority in the society.

Conflict is a conflict or dispute, a process carried out by people or groups of people to fulfill their goals by opposing the opposing party accompanied by threats and violence. The problem of land disputes between inheritance is currently a scourge because it is thought that the inheritance can provide welfare for those who receive the inheritance. The existing and applicable inheritance law in Indonesia is still not a legal unification. The form and system of inheritance law is closely related to the form of society and the nature of kinship. The research method used is a normative juridical approach, namely a legal research that uses secondary legal sources, carried out by emphasizing and adhering to the juridical aspects. Nature of Inheritance Law The existing and applicable inheritance law in Indonesia is still not a legal unification. The form and system of inheritance law is closely related to the form of society and the nature of kinship. Meanwhile, the family system in Indonesian society is based on the system of drawing a lineage, which is basically known to have three types of hereditary systems.

This study aims to determine whether career development, motivation, promotion affect employee performance. The method used is the PLS method. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that: the latent variables of career development, motivation and promotion have t-statistic values of 2.012, 3.038, and 4.485 > 1.96 and have p-values of 0.045, 0.003, and 0.000 < 0.05. So it can be said that the latent variable of career development, motivation, and promotion have a significant effect on employee performance.
