Jurnal Gesture Seni Tari ini memuat tentang penulisan ilmiah dan penelitian seni tari tradisi dan tari non tradisi di Nusantara, hingga menyinggung persoalan-persoalan yang terkait dengan perkembangan pendidikan seni tari pada abad ini. Abstract

The research discuss about transformation of bungkus dance in Simelue Regency. The Bungkus dance is one of traditional dance in the Simelue Regency that comes from Sibolga Costal region. The Purpose of the research is to understand the history and transformation bungkus dance in Simelue Regency.In the research discussion, used consist of three Sumaryono and Acculturation theory by Koentjaraningrat. The method that used in this research discussion is Qualitative Descriptive method. The time research of Bungkus Dance transformation has done two month since september untuk october 2015. The population of research is all of Simeulue Society and the sample of this ersearch is the lkeader of tradition, informan, artists and general society who know about bungkus dance. Based on the research that has done know that the transformation  bungkus dance can be seen from style, feel, and sense.

Abstract

The research desribed about Sapu Tangan dance (introduce dance) tahat alsocalled as Kapri dance in Malam Barinai ceremony at Sibolga costal society. Tosupport the analyze of the research, the writer especially used the formtheory ofK.Langer. The elemens of the dance are move, accom paniment, the dressing andcostum, the place of perfoemance and equipment, same as the theory of K.Langer,who also used the theory of Jazuli presentation. The proccess to produce the dataof this research has done since January until March 2016. The data of research hascollected by Legwork, the method that lonsist of some aspects: observation,interview theoritical aand documentation. Then the writer analyze by usedkuatitative descriptive method. The result of the research as Sibolga costal soctety,is heterogeneous that consist of come ethnict. The artist of Sibolga has variantperception Sikambang that implementation at Malam Barinai.

Abstract

This study discusses the function of the Parsiarabu in the village of Salaon TortorSubdistrict Rongurnihuta Samosir Regency.Landasan teoritis yang digunakandalam penelitian in] yaitu Teori Fungsi menurut Danesi.The theoretical foundation that is used in this study i.e. the theory of Functionaccording to Danesi people who live in the village of Salaon sub-district ofRonggurnihuta Samosir Regency. Data collection is done by the method of fieldwork which includes some steps i.e. interview, direct observation, documentationand library studies. The methods used in the research is qualitative, descriptivemethods.Research results based on the data collected can be known that Tortor Parsiarahuis the life story of Batak Toba at partonun on Samosir formerly, especiallywives who had left her husband and wife where the husband lost when taking ofarabu ulos dye in the forest. From there it became a habit for a group ofmasyarakatan partonun in one village where each host na mabalu (the wifewho had lost husbands) then the family whose husband died will hold themanortor Parsiarabu where Tortor is the wife who has lost her husband to entertaintheir friends who recently lost her husband in order to rise from sorrow.
