Abstract

Online learning is one of education methods that uses internet access and technological devices as a medium of communication between teachers and students. The teacher can use online learning during a pandemic that requires students and teachers to do physical distancing or during the industrial revolution 4.0 that implements technology in various fields of life. Online learning has several advantages and disadvantages, especially concerning the student conditions and learning effectiveness. This research was a literature review of the teacher’s strategy to achieve successful online learning. Teachers need to develop strategies for successful online learning. Teachers can use audio-visual show to attract students' interests, not give too many assignments, and provide contextual tasks that are relevant to students’ daily life. Guidance and counseling teachers can carry out preventive services in collaboration with school principals and teachers to collect data of students who do not have access to technology devices. The teacher also could conduct online group discussions to increase students’ interaction and reduce boredom learning. Furthermore, the teacher could implement curative services through online counseling services to overcome problems in online learning.

Abstract

In the era of industrial revolution 4.0, many human activities depend on the gadget and the internet connection. We can observe the daily activities of human life right now. When they wake up in the morning, they usually start by using their handphones or gadget. This condition motivates educators to build a digital module in order to use the positive point of view of the Industry Revolution 4.0 era. In this chance, the researchers develop two topics that are very important for human life in Industry Revolution 4.0, whicht are, human literacy and technology literacy. Both of the topics were derived into two-courses. The course of development of students (Perkembangan Peserta Didik) will be representing the human literacy topics and the course of introduction to Biotechnology (pengantar bioteknologi) will be representing the technology literacy topic. The research is research and development. Furthermore, the products of this research are flipbooks that were uploaded on the Learning Management System managed by Universitas Ahmad Dahlan.

Abstract

This study aims to support student’s understanding of the properties of a bisector related to the area of the triangle. A context and a set of activities is design based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) theory to develop students’ understanding and to engage them in meaningful activities. Design research is chosen as the research approach with two cycles of experiment. A context of land subdivision problem was selected to activate students’ prior knowledge and to bring them into the activities. At First, the activities is presented in small group of mathematics students and in the regional mathematics competition as one of the final question for the finalists. Then, the second cycle is conducted in the classroom with students from mathematics education program in Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. The result showed that none of the students and finalists in the competition were able to solve the question because they do not have idea how to do land subdivision. They cannot use their prior knowledge of bisector to solve the problem. After revising the activities, in the classroom, all groups in the class were able to solve the problem. These activities are land subdivision with three different levels of difficulties and purposes.

Abstract

The purpose of this evaluation research is to evaluate the implementation of the job training (internship) program at SMK Negeri Nusawungu, Cilacap, in automotive light vehicle engineering expertise in 2018/2019. The evaluation used the Context, Input, Process, Product (CIPP) model. This research involved the object of research of the implementation of internship program which is carried out at the SMK N Nusawungu Cilacap in automotive light vehicle engineering expertise in 2018/2019. The data source in this study is the fieldwork practices and students in automotive light vehicle engineering expertise competencies who have implemented internship in the academic year 2018/2019. Students who were respondents were taken with a proportionate random sampling technique, the evaluation model used was the CIPP evaluation model with qualitative evaluation methods. Data collection was taken through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics. The results suggest that the internship program was well run.

Abstract

One of the factors affecting the students' mathematical problem-solving ability is the mathematics anxiety. It was commonly believed that the higher anxiety a student feels, the lower performance the student does. This research aims to describe the students' problem-solving performance on fraction operation within three levels of mathematics anxiety - the high, the moderate, and the low anxiety. In this research, we selected six subjects by administering a questionnaire. The subjects - representing each of the anxiety levels - engaged in a problem-solving test on fraction operation and then being interviewed about their problem-solving process based on Polya framework. After a number of triangulations and discussions, we found that the students with high anxiety tended to ruin their problem-solving process due to somatic symptoms. We also found that the students with moderate anxiety developed a good care such that the process going well. Interestingly, the students with low anxiety did not carefully solve the problems and made some mistakes in calculation. A simple question might be addressed for future research. Does anxiety sometimes develop a good alert that makes the student careful about their problem-solving steps?
