Abstract

A Developing Tuna Fishing Technology in Sorong in West Papua. This study aims to analyze the feasibility and the factors of production that affect the business unit of tuna fishing with hand line, either individually or in groups with a placeholders ship and develop strategy of tuna fishing in the city of Sorong in West Papua. The study was implemented in January to June 2012 at Sorong in West Papua. The data were collected throuhgt surveys, observations, interview and questionnaires to 30 hand line fisherman in Sorong randomly, and by Followed the fishing operation in the placeholders ships. The feasibility were analyzed throught the Net Present Value (NVP),Net Benefit / Cost Ratio(Net B/C) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR), while to determine the factors that influence the production, could be analyzed by multiple linear regression analysis and stepwise analysis with Minitab 15.To determine the development strategies, analyzed by the SWOT analysis. These results indicates that tuna fishing with rod elongation either individually or in groups with placeholders ship is feasible because NVP> 0, IRR> DF and Net B/C> 1. Viewed from the income of fisherman, tuna fishing effort in the group is more profitable, because the income of individual fisherman is Rp. 24,745,252.00 / year / fisherman, while the income of fisherman with a placeholder ship is Rp. 45,524,640.00 /year /fisherman

Abstract

Utilization of Gen-set Hibrid Photovoltaik-Diesel (DC-AC Couple Battery-Backup Grid Connecting PV System) is a efforts to minimization operational cost from Stick held dipnet. This case is caused by diesel fuel which has higher price and rare. This article will discuss about analysis approach as first, calculate impact need of lighting toward rate of catching phototaxis fish. This case use analysis different test (test of t) toward output of optimum catching use 4 underwater lamps which have different of kind. The porpose from this case to analysis genset diesel capacity by usage optimum power of lighting. The method will be used is calculating instrumentation load factor, synchronic factor, and load of genset factor as standart of BKI. Based on monitoring, selected under water lamp E-CDL 45 W is real different (tcalculate3,4355>ttable2,776) which has more optimum catching of fish (6960 Kg) than others. Based on calculating needed daily load capacity 2530 W. It mean the capacity of Genset Hibrid PV array-Diesel 34020 Wh, appropriate with Samate water condition which has low and high temperature (27,1o C and 31,8o C) needed 15 PV-modul @200 W (the voltage and electric current source of PV array 100 Vdc and 31,6 A), bank battery 14 units @200 AH/12 V which has output voltage is 24 Vdc, 2 units charge controller (@current input 15 A), 1 unit inverter (voltage input 24 Vdc/output 240 Vac and 3000W), battery charger (input 240 Vac/output 24 Vdc), and MCB (standby load : single phase 220 Vac) 15 A Busbar 45 A. Ecomonic analysis use Life Cycle Cost (LCC) method toward genset (diesel and Hibrid PV array-diesel). From the calculating, nominal of LCC genset Hibrid PV array-Diesel (Rp.173.421.297,-) lower or cheaper than LCC genset diesel (Rp.223.715.493,-). The net from this case is Rp.50.294.196,- which got for 20 years instrumentations usage. The last discuss about calculating distance between stick held dipnet and area which can reached to outside lighting lamp (E-CDL 50 W) at height 5 meters toward surface of sea water is 235 m2.

Abstract

This study aims are to identify the type of food mackerel fish and classifying mackerel by their food habits is nearby of Sorong Sea. This Study was conducted from May 2011 to December 2011. Samples were analized at the Fisheries Laboratory of Sorong Fisheries Academy, West Papua. Fish samples obtained from thw catch of fisherman that landed on fish auction place Jembatan puri and Boswesen. The samples used are 372 fishes consisted of 215 males and 157 females. Fish samples analyzed descriptively based on the relationship of total length and body weight of fish, condition factors and food habits. Equation total length relationship with the weight of the fish indicated that the value of the regression coefficient (b) is 2.005 and R2=0,924 and r=0961 indicates that there is a relationship between body length and body weight. Observations on the value of the average condition factors ranged between 0.9031-1.1574. The observation of the gastric contents is known that the greatest composition were from the genus Rhizosolenia = 67.16 % followed by Paracalanus,Acartia, anchovy and fish scales respectively – each sequence was 24.72 %, 15.5 % and 10.33%. The research concluded that the Mackerel Fish (Rastreliger canagurta) is an omnivorous fish based on food habits in its gastric contents were plankton (phytoplankton and zooplankton), fragments of animal and plant.

Abstract

The research aimed to determine difference in gillnet catches baited and unbaited. The research was conducted in the waters of Sorong, Raja Ampat and Katapop Pantai, Kabupaten Sorong in November 2012 – January 2013 by using a gillnet pieces baited and 1 pieces gillnet without bait. The type both of them gillnet is operated together. The use of bait on gillnet did not significantly affect the number of catches. Number of gillnet catches barted in this study were 178 fish (49.03%) and gillnet unbaited is 183 fish (50.97%). Overall, the catch is dominated by Queen fish (Chrorinemus spp) fish there are 146 fish or 40.67 from of the total catch. Result catches between gillnet with baited and without bait. Gillnet that uses bait consisting of 15 species of which 2 types of gillnet catches there were not baited the Shark (Charcarias sp) and Crab (Scylla setata). While not baited gillnet consists of 14 species in which there is one species is not obtained at the baited gillnet that is Canine catfish eet (Plotosus canius).
