Abstract

In 2021 the total amount of waste from various types of waste in Indonesia alone will reach 68,5 milion tons. Based on these data, as much as 17 percent, or around 11,6 milion tons, was contributed by jenna R.Jambeck from the University of Geogia in 2010, there were 275 tons of plastic waste produced worlwide. Around 4,8-12,7 milion tons of them are waste and pollute the sea. Indonesia itself has a coastal population of 187,2 ,milion which annually produces plastic waste. Around 0,48-1,29 milion tonnes of plastic waste is thought to have polluted the oceans. To overcome this, proper management of plastic waste is needed, one of which is by making paving blocks made from plastic waste. The study aims to determine the characteristics of thr various composition paving blocks according to the Dquality standard, which is used for garden pavements and other uses. In this study, aratio of 1:1:1 was used for plastic, sand, and oil. Then coconut shells were added to the treatment P1 as much as 3%, P2 as much as 6%, P3 as much as 9%, and P4 as much as 12% of the paving block volume paving block quality standardD has requirements, namely the maximum value obtained from the results of the compressive strength test is 10 Mpa and water absorption is 10%. From the result of the research that i did, it was found that the variations in the P treatment were closestto the quality standard D, with a compressive strength test value of 5,84 Mpa. Keywords : Coconut Shells, Paving Blocks, PET, Plastic, Waste.

Abstract

Agricultural waste is widely used as feed or a mixture of feed for livestock. Before use, agricultural waste must be chopped so that livestock can easily eat it. One of the agricultural waste chopping machines is a multipurpose type chopper. The aim of the research was to test the performance of a multipurpose chopper machine for chopping corn cobs and bagasse. This study used a completely randomized factorial design, consisting of 2 factors, namely material (corncob and sugarcane bagasse) and and the rotational speed (RPM) which consists of 600, 800, 1000 and 1360. Each treatment combination was repeated 3 times. Parameters observed were working capacity, weight loss, fuel consumption, specific fuel consumption, and fineness modulus. The results of this study indicate that the work capacity of the bagasse higher than corncob. Working capacity at speeds of 600 RPM to 1000 RPM will increase with increasing speed. Materials and RPM not effect to material loss. fuel consumption and specific fuel consumption of bagasse (0,859 lt/h; 0,074 lt/kg) are higher than corn cobs (0,754 lt/h; 0,170 lt/kg. Fineness modulus of corn cobs is 2.504% and sugarcane bagasse is 2.373%.

Abstract

Analysis of land suitability for corn plants is needed to increase production in the development of the agricultural sector. South Lampung Regency is the largest corn producer in Lampung Province with production reaching 598,032 tonnes in 2016. The aim of the study was to determine the potential for land development for corn plants using Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS image interpretation and Geographic Information Systems in South Lampung Regency by assessing the quality of the land and to determine the level of land suitability conditions for corn crops based on planting seasons 1, 2 and 3 in South Lampung Regency. The analysis is carried out by the matching method or by giving a class assessment to each of the required parameters. The results show that the 1st planting season has the greatest level of land suitability compared to the other growing seasons, 73% very suitable to suitable. Meanwhile, Planting Season 2 had the lowest suitability level of 60% due to less stable temperatures due to the transition from rainy to dry seasons. And Planting Season 3 has a moderate suitability level of 66%, because this season the temperature has stabilized for cultivating corn. Keywords: Corn, Geographic Information System, Class Assessment, Land Suitability, Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS Imagery, Matching.

Abstract

To meet the increasing needs of consumers, both in terms of quality and quantity, it is necessary to increase the production of mustard plants through fertilization and irrigation. One of the efforts that can be done to overcome the limited availability of water in the land is to use water-saving irrigation technology. Utilization of sandy land such as coastal areas is one solution to overcome the limitations of agricultural land. However, coastal sandy land cannot be used optimally by the community around the coast for agricultural activities, because so far the beach sand land is considered unfit as a planting medium. That to maximize the use of sand as a vegetable growing medium, additional fertilizer is needed. The method used in this study was a completely randomized design (RAL) with two factors, namely the first factor (M) a combination of planting media with 3 combinations, namely K1, M1, M2 and M3. While the second factor (D) drip irrigation discharge with 3 discharges, namely D1 (100 ml/day), D2 (150 ml/day) and D3 (200 ml/day). Each treatment was repeated 3 times. The combination of planting media affects the growth and production of mustard (Brassica juncea L.) plants with the best combination of planting media, namely M2 (sand above and compost below). Discharge drip irrigation affects the growth and production of mustard (Brassica juncea L.) with the best yield of D1 (100 ml/day). The interaction between the combination of planting media and drip irrigation discharge on the growth and production of the best mustard (Brassica juncea L.) plant is M2D1.
