Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model (PBL) with a scientific approach to critical thinking skills of class X students of Al-Ma’arif Pandan Indah Islamic High School 2016/2017 academic year. The type of research used is quasi-experiment with Nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of class X Islamic High School Al-Ma’arif Pandan. The sample used consisted of two classes taken using nonprobability sampling techniques, namely class XA as the experimental class, and class XB as the control class. The technique of collecting data on the implementation of RPP using the observation sheet and critical thinking skills of students was measured using a test in the form of a description question that had been validated by 2 expert experts. Data analysis of critical thinking skills carried out by t-test found that t-count = 2.58> 2.042. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model with a scientific approach significantly influences students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research with the aim to know the influence of the use of Creative Problem solving learning model on problem solving skills and cognitive learning outcomes of grade X SMA Islam Al-Ma'arif Pandan Indah Lesson 2016/2017. Population in this research is all student of class X SMA Islam Al-Ma'arif Pandan Indah Lesson Year 2016/2017 with amount of population counted 36 person which existed in class XA and XB. Furthermore, sampling technique used is a saturated sampling technique that is sampling technique when all members of the population used as a sample. Where class XA as experiment class and XB as control class. The type of research used in this study is quasi experiment with observation and test data collection techniques. The results showed that problem solving skills in the first experimental classroom obtained an average percentage of 66% included in the good category, while in the second meeting obtained an average percentage of 79% included in the category of very good. The students' cognitive learning outcomes in the experimental class were 70.4 and the control class was 66.2. The result of hypothesis test with t test at 5% significant level shows that tcount> ttable (2,675> 2,042), meaning H0 is rejected. So it can be concluded that there is influence Creative Problem Solving learning model to problem solving skills and student cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

This article aims to describe empirically and theoretically the role of science process skills as a basis for learning high-level thinking skills. Science process skills are skills that are able to answer the demands of learning in accordance with the principles of constructivism related to the nature of science learning which is divided into three categories, namely (1) basic science process skills, (2) intermediate science process skills, and (3) science process skills high. Science process skills are claimed by many experts as the basis for developing high-level thinking skills. Activities such as (1) observation allow a person to be open to inquiry and be sensitive and willing to observe, (2) comparison, (3) classification, (4) measure, (5) communication, (6) inference, (7) prediction , (8) hypotheses, and (9) define and control variables, are activities in science process skills that are indispensable as basic skills to be able to think higher through integration in the learning process. High-level thinking skills such as critical thinking, creative thinking, and problem solving can be built through science learning that emphasizes the process. Critical thinking skills which are reflective processes in analyzing and evaluating information to determine one's beliefs and behavior can be built through creative processes that are lues, flexible, original, and precise in the stages of problem solving identification, planning, implementation and reflection.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out the application of learning using the handout and concept maps to improve the biology learning activities of class VIII students at Suela Junior High School 3 in Academic Year 2015/2016. This type of research was classroom action research consisting of two cycles. Retrieval of learning achievement data using 30 multiple choice evaluation test questions (α Cronbach = 0.74) and observation sheets to calculate student learning activities. Analysis of learning outcomes data using individual completeness and classical completeness. So that in getting the average percentage of student learning activities in the cycle of 9.12% with a fairly active category while in the second cycle obtained an average of 12% with the active category. Student learning outcomes using the handout and concept maps for classical completeness in the first cycle amounted to 30% with inactive categories while student learning outcomes using the handout and concept maps for classical completeness in the second cycle were 88% with active categories. Thus it can be said that the application of learning using the handout and concept maps can improve the activities and results of biology learning of class VIII students at 3 Public Schools in Suela 2015/2016 Academic Year

Abstract

Kualitas pendidikan merupakan salah satu fakor atau indikator yang menunjukkan kualitas suatu bangsa. Oleh karena itu, kualitasnya harus terus ditingkatkan. Peninkatan kualitas pendidikan tersebut sejalan dan seirama dengan tuntutan kemajuan zaman yang menekankan pada pengetahuan dan keterampilan, seperti pentingnya dibelajarkan tentang keterampila berpikir tingkat tinggi, salah satunya adala keterampilan berpikir kritis. Keterampilan berpikir kritis merupakan keterampilan hidup dan modal dasar yang harus dimiliki siswa untuk memperoleh dan mengembangkan pengetahuan, dalam hal ini dipaami bahwa, apabila siswa memeiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis, maka siswa akan memiliki keterampilan atau pengetahuan untuk menyelesaikan masalah. membelajarkan keterampilan berpikir kritis kepada siswa dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai metode atau model pembelajaran, salah satunya adalah dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif STAD. Melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif STAD, siswa tidak hanya diberdayakan untuk memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis, tetapi juga keterampilan sosial, karena karakteristik pembelajaran kooperatif adalah interaksi sosial antar siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan ppengaruh pembelajaran kooperatif STAD terhadap keteramppilan berpikir kritis siswa. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII Madrasah Tsanawiyah NW Pringgabaya tahun pelajaran 2016/2017 Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah posttest control group desaign, dan sampel penelitian diambil menggunakan teknik sampel acak (random sampling). Berdasarkan hasil analisis menggunakan uji t dengan bantuan SPSS 16 for windows, diperoleh nilai uji t sebesar 5.06, dan nilai probabilitasnya sebesar 0.000, sehingga berdasarkan hasil analisis ini dinyatakan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif STAD berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VII Madrasah Tsanawiyah NW Pringgabaya tahun pelajaran 2017/2018.
