Abstract

Dusun Bat Rurung desa Barejulat terdapat budidaya jamur tiram (Pleurotus osteatus) yang dikelola oleh kelompok budidaya jamur tiram Lombok. Kelompok ini disamping memproduksi jamur tiram juga memproduksi limbah berupa limbah baglog jamur tiram dalam jumlah satu kali masa panen kurang lebih 1 s/d 2 ton. Kondisi limbah yang sangat banyak mengakibatkan pencemaran pada lingkungan, ini dikarenakan anggota kelmpok pembudidaya tidak memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam pengolahan limbah baglog media jamur tersebut. Baglog merupakan media tanam jamur tiram yang terbuat dari serbuk gergaji dan beberapa bahan nutrisi sebagai sumber nutrisi bagi pertumbuhan jamur. Limbah banglog jamur terbagi menjadi dua jenis yakni baglog kotaminan dan baglong tua. Kurangnya keterampilan pembudidaya dalam pengolahan limbah menjadi acuaan dasar untuk melakukan pelatihan pengolahan limbah baglog menjadi pupuk organik. Metode dan pendekatan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini dalam proses menyelesaikan perasalah yang ada adalah dengan diskusi dan praktek (learning by doing) gabungan kedua metode tersebut diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan berkaitan dengan pengelolaan Limbah baglog media jamur tiram menjadi pupuk organik. Adapun hasil yang dicapai adalah 1) adanya  pengetahuan dan keterampilan kelompok budidaya jamur tiram dalam mengolah limbah baglog menjadi pupuk organik, 2) meningkatnya partisifasi kelompok selama kegiatan pelatihan pengolahan hingga 85%,  3) dihasilkannya produk berupa pupuk organik padat, dan 4) terbentuknya unit usaha tambahan yakni usaha pupuk organik.

Abstract

Teachers’ role in teaching and learning processes as well as 21 century’s demands, prompted pre-service teachers’ education program to ensure that pre-service teachers will be able to train critical thinking skills to their respective students because critical thinking is an important skill needed by future learners. We developed Inquiry-Based Active Learning Model (ABI) which was implemented to 34 Physics pre-service teachers in one of Teacher Training Institution (LPTK) in Indonesia. The implemented learning model was able to increase critical thinking skills and decreased the number of pre-service teachers previously categorized in a less critical category. In overall, critical thinking skills enhancement after the implementation of ABI learning model is categorized as moderate. We concluded that to some extent, the developed ABI learning model enhanced physics pre-service teachers’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Video Time Lapse Caricature (VTLK) sebagai media pembelajaran fisika. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan plomp, yaitu Prelimenary Investigation, Design, Realization/Contruction, Test, Evaluationand Revision. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengumpulan data meliputi: uji validasi media Video Time Lapse Caricature (VTLK) yang dikembangkan. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah uji kelompok terbatas siswa kelasVIII MTs. Ad-Dinul Qayyim Gunung Sari. Analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil uji validasi media Video Time Lapse Caricature (VTLK) yang dikembangkan dikategorikan cukup valid dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 3,75 dan rata-rata scientific curiosity siswa sebesar 32,75 dikategorikan tinggi sehingga dapat disimpukan bahwa pengembangan video time lapse caricature (VTLK) sebagai media pembelajaran IPA dapat melatih scientificcuriosity siswa.

Abstract

Misconceptions are concepts that are inconsistent with the scientific or scientific understanding received by scientists in the field concerned. This study aims to identify student misconception on dynamic electrical material. This study is a preliminary study in which, students' answers are analyzed based on the average Certainty of Response Index (CRI) listed on the answer sheet. In general, students are still experiencing misconceptions on dynamic electrical materials identified using 10 problems, namely: 1) wrong choice 60.72%; 2) correct choice of wrong reasons 33.46%; 3) correct choice true reason 4.98%; and 4) empty answer 0.79%. Based on the result, it can be concluded that students generally are still experiencing misconceptions on dynamic electrical materials so that comprehensive improvement needs to be done to overcome the problem.

Abstract

This article describes scientific learning that focuses on the implementation of learning on scientific principles to build students' thinking skills in accordance with the 2013 curriculum. The essence of science education becomes the main foundation of the importance of teaching science process skills in learning. Scientific skills that are important to train learners in conducting scientific activities. These skills include, 1) observing; 2) interpret; 3) predict; 4) using tools and materials; 5) apply the concept; 6) planning research; 7) communicate.

Abstract

[Title: Implementation of Physics Learning Tools Based on Inquiry Learning with Conflict Cognitive Strategies to Facilitate Critical Thinking Ability]. This study aims to implement physics learning device based on inquiry with conflict cognitive strategy to facilitate student’s critical thinking on the fluid material. The device is implemented in the first semester students of Physics Education Study Program IKIP Mataram academic year 2017/2018 with test design using one group pre-test post-test design. Data collection methods used were questionnaires, tests, and observations, while data analysis techniques used qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the implementation obtained some findings, namely: learning activities can be done well with the high degree of reliability. Student response to learning is very positive with the interest of students to follow the learning. The students' critical thinking skills after the experimentally developed learning tools are critically developed. Based on the results of this study can be concluded that learning tools that are implemented practical, and effectively used to facilitate students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the prospective teachers’ critical thinking and critical analysis skills based on gender. This is a descriptive quantitative study with survey methods. The research samples were 50 males and 50 females who take the anatomy and plant development courses selected using purposive random sampling. The data of prospective teachers’ critical thinking and critical analysis skills were collected using the instrument developed that was validated by two experts and tested on 20 biology education students. The data of prospective teachers’ critical thinking and critical analysis skills were analyzed descriptively and statistically using a software (IBM SPSS Statistic 23). The results of the study show that (1) the prospective teachers’ critical thinking and critical analysis skills as underdeveloped; (2) critical thinking skills differ in the components of interpretation, explanation, and self-regulation; (3) critical analysis skills differ on the explanation and interpretations; and (4) there is a positive correlation between prospective teachers’ critical thinking and critical analysis skills. Based on the result of the study, serious and planned handling can be done through important learning. The results of this study can be an initial reference and priority determination of lecturers in teaching prospective teachers’ critical thinking and critical analysis skills based on gender.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a model of Mathematical Problem Solving with Conflict Cognitive Strategies to facilitate students’ analytical decision making ability. This research is a development research that will produce a model of learning i.e. the model of Mathematical Problem Solving with Conflict Cognitive Strategies along with its devices that valid, practical, and effective to facilitate students’ analytical decision making ability. The results show that the model and supporting devices developed stated: (1) valid (3.0 V£ 4.0); (2) practical (score 3.75 with reliability 98.44%); and (3) effective (n-gain = 0.59; p 0.05) to facilitate students’ analytical decision making ability. Based on these results it can be concluded that the models of Mathematical Problem Solving with Conflict Cognitive Strategy and its supporting device is declared valid, practical, and effective to facilitate students’ analytical decision making ability. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model Mathematical Problem Solving dengan Strategi Konflik Kognitif untuk melatihkan kemampuan analytical decision making mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang akan menghasilkan produk model pembelajaran yaitu model Mathematical Problem Solving dengan Strategi Konflik Kognitif dan perangkat yang valid, praktis dan efektif untuk melatihkan kemampuan analytical decision making mahasiswa. Hasil yang penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran dan perangkat pendukung yang dikembangkan dinyatakan: (1) valid baik secara isi maupun konstruk (3,0 V£ 4,0); (2) praktis (skor 3.75 dengan reliabilitas 98.44%); dan (3) efektif (n-gain= 0.59; p 0.05) untuk melatih kemampuan analitycal decision making mahasiswa. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of inquiry learning models on the students? metacognition awareness in senior high school. Metacognition awareness in this study consists of eight components, namely (1) declarative knowledge, (2) procedural knowledge, (3) conditional knowledge, (4) planning, (5) information management system, (6) monitoring, (7) evaluation, and (8) debugging. This research is a quasi-experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study were 25 students of science in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 3 Lombok Tengah chosen using the saturated sample technique. Metacognition Awerness Inventory (MAI) is used to collect metacognition awareness data of students who are analyzed using paired t-test and Wilcoxon test samples. The results showed that students' metacognition awareness for all indicators was stated to increase (p <0.05) after learning using inquiry learning models. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the inquiry learning model influences the metacognition awareness of secondary school students.

Abstract

Online learning is a national policy as a strategic step to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The quality of the learning media used by lecturers is to influence the effectiveness of online learning. Therefore, training is needed to strengthen lecturers' skills in developing interactive media effective in online learning. This community service aims to improve the biology education lecturers' knowledge and skills regarding interactive media design in online learning. Participants of this activity were 27 Lecturers of Biology Education at FSTT Mandalika University of Education. The training activity is carried out in three stages, namely (1) Preparation, (2) Implementation, (3) Reflection / Evaluation. Training activities are held online / webinar on Saturday / 25 July 2020 at 07.00-12.00 WITA with a series of events, namely opening, remarks from the Head of the Biology Education Study Program, delivery of training materials, discussions, conveying impressions and messages. The training activities were carried out well, even though there were some shortcomings. This is supported by the participants' messages at the end of the activity, namely (1) 100% of the training participants gave positive responses such as feeling happy, enthusiastic, enthusiastic, and helped by the holding of this training activity; (2) 75% of participants gave suggestions so that similar training activities could be carried out periodically at the beginning of preparation for each semester. In the end, the participants have the knowledge and skills in designing interactive media in online learning
