Buletin Psikologi focuses on contextualizing psychological concepts or phenomena within the socio-cultural setting of Indonesia through the use of non-empirical study, such as, literature review, systematic review, scoping review, and meta-analysis. It accepts articles that are based on the thorough and systematic examination of psychological constructs from the perspective of Indonesian context. The journal is open access, peer-reviewed, and published biannually. We accept and publishes articles in English and Bahasa Indonesia languages to accommodate our diverse audience in Indonesia and internationally.

Abstract

Coaching is a rapidly growing realm in recent decades. More than just a popular field ofpsychology, coaching has also been the subject of discussion and research by psychologypractitioners and academics. This paper intends to provide an introduction to coaching psychology,a field that in the last 10 years has grown by psychology practitioners in Australia and Europe. Wediscuss the differences that coaching has compared to another field, the development of coachingpsychology, and the opportunity for future research and development. Hopefully, psychologypractitioners in this country will be interested to do research and development in this field, giventhe increasing interest, both from the psychology and non-psychology.

Abstract

One of theories to which researcher aiming to test people’s attitudes and behaviors always refer isthe Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). It has been developed from the Theory of Reasoned Action(TRA) as a response to criticism about the inconsistent relationship between attitude and behavior.To overcome this weakness, antecedent behaviors are developed in more specific way both in termsof concept and measurement. This paper aims to provide a description of how to set the aitems ofmeasuring instruments based on the TPB. Some notes about the way of presenting the measuringinstruments and the stages are depicted in the end of this paper.

Abstract

Pengertian 1 validitas (validity) telah ki-ta kenal lewat tulisan Hadi (1977), Masrun(1979), Azwar (1997) serta Suryabrata(2000). Pengertian validitas pada keempattulisan tersebut mengacu pada pengertianyang dihasilkan oleh komisi gabunganantara APA (American Psychological Asso-ciation), AERA (American EducationalResearch Association) dan the NationalCouncil on Measurement Used in Educationyang membagi tiga macam validitas, yakni(a) Validitas isi (content validity), (b)Validitas konstruk (construct validity) serta(c) Validitas berdasarkan kriterium (crite-rion-related validity) (Kerlinger, 1986;Kerlinger & Lee, 2000). Ketiga macamvaliditas tadi berkaitan dengan masalahpengukuran (measurement) yang inti po-koknya menyangkut sejauhmana sebuahalat ukur psikologis dapat dipercayamengukur apa yang seharusnya diukur(Suryabrata, 2000). Uraian berikut akanmembahas validitas dalam bidang lain,yaitu validitas eksperimen.

Abstract

The measurements conducted in the discipline of psychology are related to the goals of pure andapplied sciences. Measurements taken for pure science is in general carried out within scientificresearches. Regarding those in the applied science, there are two methods, namely screening anddiagnosis that are commonly used in the practice of clinical measurement. This paper aims toaddress the comprehensive measurements required in the field of clinical measurement. Inparticular, it will discuss if psychometric properties only are already sufficient or they are, in fact,not needed in this field. In addition, it will also briefly describe the methodology of measuring thequality of instruments of clinical measurement.
