Abstract

Bali's cultural dynamics require each individual to balance domestic, economic, and cultural roles adaptively. The research subjects, married Balinese women with jobs, face the challenge of balancing work with family and cultural roles to achieve work-life balance. This literature review aimed to examine Balinese women’s work-life balance from the perspective of work/family border theory. The findings reveal that the roles of Balinese women in their families, local culture, and work lead to different flexibilities and permeabilities within each family. Balinese women can maintain work-life balance by effectively controlling the permeability and flexibility of their work and family borders. This indicates that in addition to the women’s efforts, the support of family and colleagues significantly influences work-life balance, especially in the performance of ngayah. This research contributes to the understanding of Balinese women's work-life balance and can serve as a source of knowledge for stakeholders to support the work-life balance of working Balinese women.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is recognized as a neurodevelopmental condition that persists across the lifespan; however, research focusing on adults with ADHD has received comparatively less attention than studies in children. This narrative literature review aims to explore recent evidence on adult ADHD, with particular emphasis on symptoms, functional impacts, and intervention strategies. Relevant literature was identified through a targeted search of selected databases, guided by an Integrative Review Framework (IRF). The review focused on peer-reviewed publications from 2020 to 2025 involving adult populations diagnosed with ADHD. The findings suggest that ADHD symptoms in adults influence multiple domains of daily functioning, including difficulties in attention and organization that affect academic and occupational performance, challenges in interpersonal relationships, and an increased risk of psychological comorbidities such as mood disorders, anxiety, and behavioral problems. Various intervention approaches have been reported, including pharmacological treatment, cognitive-behavioral therapy, coaching strategies, and integrated models combining psychosocial and medical components. This review underscores the importance of improving the assessment of ADHD in adulthood, developing tailored interventions, and encouraging longitudinal research to better understand long-term outcomes, ultimately contributing to improved resilience and quality of life for adults with ADHD. The Layered Architecture of Clinical Objectivity: How Aesthetic Bias Interacts with Structured Psychopathy Assessment Citra Permata Sari Saputri

Abstract

Psychopathy assessment, though methodologically rigorous, remains cognitively permeable to automatic perceptual inputs. This integrative review examines how aesthetic bias—specifically facial trustworthiness and attractiveness—shapes the interpretation of psychopathy-related traits and subsequent legal outcomes. We propose a sequential framework illustrating how bias propagates from neural appraisal to clinical interpretation and institutional consequence. Findings suggest that aesthetic bias operates as a probabilistic judgment shaper, primarily affecting the interpersonal-affective criteria of Factor 1. This process is explained through a dual-process account: rapid System 1 facial inferences form a perceptual anchor that System 2 deliberative reasoning may reinforce rather than correct. Consequently, subtle distortions in trait perception can cascade into high-stakes outcomes, including the severity of sentencing and danger classification. We conclude that implementing linear sequential unmasking and structured justification protocols is essential to safeguard the integrity of assessments. These procedural adjustments offer a robust framework for improving forensic objectivity.

Abstract

Abstract

Children’s emotion regulation is a crucial aspect of their socioemotional development which is influenced by the parent-child relationship and parental emotion socialization behavior (ESB). Emotion regulation refers to an individual’s ability to manage their emotions. Parent-child relationship is a whole dynamic of characters in the family, consisting of both nurture and protective behavior from parents to children. Parental ESB is defined as the way parents respond to their child’s expressed emotions. Previous literature has found that these variables are interrelated, but most studies have only examined one or two variables, and rarely have they examined all three variables simultaneously. Therefore, this study aims to explore the role of parent-child relationship and parental ESB on children's emotion regulation. This study used systematic review method based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) 2020 guidelines, with literature searches conducted across six databases: APA PsycNet, SAGE Open, MDPI, Taylor & Francis, PubMed, and ScienceDirect. Studies published between 2016 and 2025 were included. Eligible participants were healthy married parents and their healthy children ages 3-11 years. Inclusion criteria comprised English or Indonesian quantitative or qualitative studies published in Q1-Q4 indexed journals with open-access full texts. Studies published before 2016, lacking full-text access, or involving participants other than parent or teachers were excluded. The search yielded 44.837 articles and after screening, 7 articles were identified as meeting the objectives of this study. The data collected by synthesizing the contents of the 7 research articles that met the selection criteria. Findings show that the parent-child relationships and parental ESB play role in children’s emotion regulation. Additional factors that influence parental ESB and children’s emotion regulation were also identified. The findings contribute to the literature of developmental, family and educational psychology by providing additional evidence on children’s emotion regulation, parent-child relationship and parental ESB, while further strengthening the existing theoretical frameworks. The practical implications of this research were implemented through a community service program (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM)) seminar conducted at Kindergarten X in West Jakarta, with the parents of the students as the audience. The seminar addressed the importance of understanding how to respond to children’s emotions and how to build a supportive relationship with their child.
