Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of understanding among some students of the Sharia Banking program at UIN Bukittinggi regarding the cardless withdrawal feature on BSI Mobile Banking for cash withdrawal transactions. The primary objective is to identify the factors influencing students' understanding of this feature. A qualitative method was employed, with primary data collected through interviews and documentation. Data analysis followed the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that 90% of informants understand the concept and functionality of the cardless withdrawal feature, indicating the effectiveness of BSI’s outreach efforts. Approximately 65% of informants have used the feature, while the rest have not, citing reasons such as habitual reliance on traditional methods, lack of necessity, or limited technical information. Based on the Diffusion of Innovations framework, the feature is perceived to have a relative advantage due to its convenience, time efficiency, and enhanced security compared to conventional withdrawal methods. It is also considered compatible with students’ digital transaction habits and aligns with the modernization of sharia banking services. The feature is rated as low in complexity, with initial technical barriers easily overcome. Its high trialability—allowing use without financial risk—and observability, through visible use at ATMs and app notifications, further influence adoption. The study concludes that factors such as perceived advantage, alignment with values and habits, and ease of use significantly contribute to enhancing students’ understanding and adoption of the cardless withdrawal feature in the context of sharia banking.

Abstract

Sharia business ethics represent a fundamental component of muamalah practices in Islam, emphasizing principles of honesty, justice, responsibility, and consumer care in commercial transactions. Although widely acknowledged within Islamic economic discourse, empirical studies specifically examining the implementation of these principles in local traditional markets—such as the Alahan Panjang Market—remain limited. This study aims to analyze the application of sharia business ethics in the trading practices of merchants at Alahan Panjang Market and to identify factors influencing adherence to these values. A qualitative field study approach was employed, involving merchants and consumers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation, and analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and interpretative conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that most merchants have implemented key ethical principles in their trading practices, particularly in transactional honesty, price fairness, accountability for merchandise, and consumer-oriented attitudes. However, inconsistencies persist, notably in aspects of price and quality transparency, influenced by economic competition, limited understanding of muamalah concepts, and insufficient oversight from market authorities and religious institutions. The study concludes that strengthening education on sharia business ethics, enhancing institutional supervision, and fostering collaboration between local governments and religious bodies are essential for guiding traditional market traders. This research contributes to the enrichment of Islamic business ethics literature in local contexts and offers practical implications for value-based trade policy development.

Abstract

The low academic performance of fifth-grade students in Social Studies at SDN 016 Balung—where only 44% met the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM)—along with limited interest, participation, and confidence during lessons, served as the background for this study. The research aims to improve learning outcomes through the implementation of the active learning strategy Giving Question and Getting Answers (GQGA), which positions students as active agents in the learning process. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) design was employed over two cycles within one month, using observation, tests, and documentation for data collection. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods to evaluate improvements in teacher activity, student activity, and learning outcomes. The findings indicate substantial improvement: teacher activity increased from 66.07% (fairly good) in the first cycle to 89.28% (good) in the second cycle; student activity rose from 69.42% to 89.14%; and student mastery improved from 44% (pre-intervention) to 60% in the first cycle and 88% in the second cycle. These results demonstrate that the GQGA strategy effectively enhances student engagement and academic achievement in Social Studies. It is therefore recommended as an alternative active learning approach that fosters optimal and sustained student involvement in primary education.

Abstract

The high unemployment rate in Indonesia necessitates that university students not rely solely on formal employment opportunities but also develop the ability to create opportunities through entrepreneurial activities. However, observations at STIT Payakumbuh reveal that many students exhibit low entrepreneurial interest, influenced by perceptions that entrepreneurship requires substantial capital, involves high risk, and demands strong self-confidence—qualities they believe they lack. This study aims to analyze the influence of motivation and entrepreneurial knowledge on students’ entrepreneurial interest at STIT Payakumbuh. A quantitative field research approach was adopted, involving a questionnaire distributed to 30 respondents selected using probability sampling. Data analysis included validity and reliability tests, classical assumption testing, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination, processed using SPSS 24. The results indicate that motivation has a significant effect on students’ entrepreneurial interest, and entrepreneurial knowledge also contributes positively in a partial capacity. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence entrepreneurial interest, with a combined contribution of 60.8%. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening internal motivation and enhancing entrepreneurial literacy to foster student readiness and a proactive mindset toward independent business ventures.

Abstract

Research on job satisfaction has been widely conducted, yet studies that specifically analyze the relationship between workload and work motivation in the context of public university employees remain relatively limited, particularly at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Padang. This study aims to analyze the effects of workload and work motivation on the job satisfaction of employees at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Padang. A quantitative survey design was employed, involving 36 employees selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results show that workload has a negative and significant effect on job satisfaction, whereas work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employees’ job satisfaction. These findings contribute to strengthening organizational behavior theory and broaden understanding of the determinants of job satisfaction in the context of higher education institutions. The study concludes that managing workload proportionally and optimizing motivational factors are key aspects in enhancing employees’ job satisfaction, thereby requiring institutions to implement supportive policies based on reward systems, work facilities, and competency development. Theoretically, this study enriches the human resource management literature, while practically it provides a reference for policymakers in higher education institutions and opens avenues for further research exploring mediating or moderating variables in the relationships among the examined constructs.

Abstract

The current transportation challenges in Indonesia are characterized by digitalization and technological innovation that affect firm value in this sector. Transportation companies that adopt digital technologies tend to have higher market value because they are better able to enhance profitability and competitiveness. In addition, global pressure to reduce carbon emissions encourages companies to shift toward electric vehicles, environmentally friendly fuels, and low-emission technologies. This study aims to analyze the effect of Growth Opportunity and Capital Expenditure on the firm value of transportation companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The research population comprises all transportation sector companies listed on the IDX during the 2019–2023 period, with purposive sampling yielding 65 companies as the research sample. Data were analyzed using panel data regression with the support of the EViews application. The results indicate that Growth Opportunity has no significant effect on the firm value of transportation companies, whereas Capital Expenditure has a significantly negative effect on firm value. These findings suggest that growth opportunities are not yet fully reflected in market valuation, while suboptimally managed capital expenditure policies tend to be responded to negatively by the market, indicating that management needs to design more selective investment strategies that are aligned with the demands of digitalization and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Discourse on corruption in the education sector has expanded, yet studies that specifically examine the application of Islamic principles in the development of anti-corruption education remain limited. This study aims to examine the attributes of corruption in education, analyze the influence of Islamic principles in mitigating corrupt practices, and formulate solutions for the effective implementation of anti-corruption education. It employs a qualitative methodology based on literature analysis by reviewing scholarly articles, institutional reports, perspectives of Islamic education authorities, and anti-corruption policy documents. The data were analyzed using content analysis with a focus on patterns of value themes, implementation tactics, and structural barriers. The findings show that corruption in the education system is influenced by political favoritism, a lack of transparency, and deeply ingrained unethical behavior in school culture. The application of the values of trust, justice, and accountability constitutes an essential foundation for anti-corruption teaching from an Islamic perspective. These findings advance a character education paradigm grounded in religious principles and provide practical recommendations for schools in fostering a culture of honesty. The study also opens opportunities for field studies and longitudinal investigations to evaluate the effectiveness of this integrative methodology in the context of Islamic value-based anti-corruption education.

Abstract

Although problem-based learning models have attracted considerable research attention, studies that specifically examine the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) to strengthen understanding of rights and obligations in Pendidikan Pancasila instruction in primary schools remain limited. This study aims to describe how PBL can enhance students’ engagement, motivation, and conceptual understanding in real classroom contexts. It employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a field research design, involving all Grade IV students at SD IT Ar-Rakyu selected through total sampling. Data were collected through classroom observations, field notes, documentation, and analyses of students’ work, and subsequently analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that PBL fosters active participation, group collaboration, and deeper conceptual understanding, particularly when supported by multimodal media such as thematic videos, songs, posters, and contextual student worksheets (LKPD). These results contribute to the development of constructivist learning theory and extend understanding of PBL implementation in Pendidikan Pancasila within the context of Kurikulum Merdeka. The study concludes that student-centered, problem-oriented instruction plays an important role in enhancing motivation and character formation, and recommends that teachers integrate contextual problems, digital media, and structured role allocation in PBL. It also identifies opportunities for further research in broader contexts and for examining the long-term impact on students’ citizenship competencies.

Abstract

Companies in the digital technology era face substantial challenges in obtaining funding, partly due to increasing demands for the implementation of sustainability practices. Problems arise when green governance structures designed to support sustainability instead have the potential to exacerbate financing constraints. This study aims to analyze the effect of green governance structure on corporate financing constraints and to assess the role of the equity balance level as a moderating variable. The research uses data from manufacturing firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, selected through purposive sampling, resulting in 17 companies and a total of 68 observations. Data were analyzed using panel regression with E-Views software. The findings show that green governance structure has a positive and significant effect on corporate financing constraints in the digital technology era. However, when moderated by the equity balance level, green governance structure has a negative and significant effect on financing constraints, indicating that equity can weaken the impact of green governance on funding difficulties. The study concludes that green governance can intensify funding pressure, but equity balance functions as a buffer that strengthens the firm’s funding capacity. The implications encourage management to reinforce equity structures in order to sustain the implementation of green governance without increasing the burden of financing constraints.

Abstract

Teacher performance plays a strategic role in the success of vocational education; however, many vocational high schools still face challenges such as suboptimal work discipline, fluctuating work motivation, and compensation perceived as inadequate. This study aimed to analyze the effects of work discipline, work motivation, and compensation on the performance of vocational high school teachers in Sayung District. An explanatory quantitative approach was employed, using a saturated sampling technique that involved all 50 teachers as respondents. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The results show that work discipline has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, while work motivation has a positive but not significant effect. Compensation was found to have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, and jointly the three variables significantly influence performance with a coefficient of determination of 67.5%, indicating that work discipline, work motivation, and compensation explain most of the variance in teacher performance. In conclusion, work discipline and compensation are dominant factors in improving teacher performance, whereas work motivation needs to be strengthened through sustained managerial policies. The implications of this study highlight the importance of human resource management based on discipline, improved welfare, and effective school governance to reinforce the quality of vocational education at the vocational high school level.
