Abstract

Abstract — This reaserch discussed about classification of timely graduation of college students. There are still a lot of students of Mathemathics and Natural Science Faculty of Universitas Negeri Padang who was overdue in Finishing their studies. This can affect the decline in study program accreditation or even reduce the university’s image. Therefore, this reaserch aims to determine the characteristic of students who graduate on time and who do not graduate on time based on variables of gender, school origin, scholarship, college entrance pathway, Grade Point Average (GPA), father’ occupation and mother’s  occupation by using the Classification and regression Trees (CART) method. The population in this reaserch is the entire student of Mathemathics and Natural Science Faculty of Universitas Negeri Padang who graduated in 2018. The characteristics of college students who graduate on time is students who have a 3,51 – 4,00 GPA with a percentage of 75,2% and student who have a 2,00 – 3,50 GPA, received scholarship and came through the SBMPTN with a percentage 83,3%.Keywords — Characteristic of Graduation, Classification and Regression Trees (CART), Optimum Tree.

Abstract

Abstract — This research will discuss how to determine the value of Employee Stock Options (ESO), in calculating it has a different way from other options. Dilution effects that causes a decrease in stock price returns that will be taken into account. This research is based on relevant theory and case examples will be simulated using computer software. The movement of stoks price will be modeled by the Black-Scholes method. The results of this study will get the ESO value and also see some influence of parameters. The influence of the parameters of interest rates (r) and volatility ( ) has a value directly proportional to the value of ESO. While the strike price (K), the rate of employees leaving the company ( ) and the length of waiting period (v) is inversely proportional to the value of ESO. Keywords —employee stocks options, dillution effect, black-scholes model.

Abstract

Abstract — Beef is one of the sources of animal protein that is able to fulfill human nutritional needs. Beef production in West Sumatera Province comes from slaughterhouses, modern or traditional abattoirs. The purpose of this study is make a forecasting model for the amount of beef production in the province of West Sumatera that using the Holt type double exponential smoothing method and predict the amount of beef production based on the model that formed. Data takes from the data of beef production’s amount in the province of West Sumatera from 2005 until 2018 obtained from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health of West Sumatera’s Province. The method used is the method of Holt Type Double Exponential Smoothing, parameter α and ɣ minimize MSE is 0,9 and 0,1. The result of the forecast beef production in the province of West Sumatera from 2019 until 2023 in a row is 20.644,40 ton, 20.892,66 ton, 21.140,93 ton, 21.389,19 ton, dan 21637,45 ton. Keywords — Forecasting, Double Eksponential Smoothing Type Holt, Beef Production.

Abstract

Abstract — Electricity is one of the main requirement for supporting and compliances the needs of human life. Consumption of electricity continues to increase caused by many residential areas and large industries built also many locations need electricity. Electric power must be developed in line with the increasing demand for electricity, but the installation of electric cables are sometimes inefficient and spending lots of charge. The purpose of this study is to determine the optimal length of electric cables in the national transmission network of West Sumatra. This study begins by representing the map of the National Transmission Network of West Sumatera into a connected, weighted and undirected graph, then determining the minimum spanning tree using Prim Algorithm. The result of this research is electrical cables on the transmission network with Prim Algorithm is more optimal. Keywords — Transmission Network, Optimization, Prim Algorithm.

Abstract

Abstract— Increasing the number of prisoners as well as the lack of security guards is a very serious matter faced by a prison. Events that have occurred where a security officer was threatened with a firearm in Pasir Pengaraian makes every correctional institution must always be vigilant and can regulate the security of correctional institutions in the right way. Prison Class IIB Pasir Pengaraian has limitations in the number of guards so that it requires the right method in making a guard schedule. The purpose of this study is to determine the shape of the model and the results of the Optimization of Class IIB Pasir Pengaraian Prison Guard Schedule with Goal Programming Method. Goal Programming Method is a method of solving linear programming cases that have more than one target to be achieved. By completing the scheduling model using the help of LINGO 17.0 software, the results show that with the Goal Programming method minimum morning shift guards are met, 7 people do not meet the minimum day shift guard, 4 people do not meet the minimum night shift guard, and no guards get a holiday-enter-holiday pattern. Keywords — Goal Programming, Prison, Scheduling.

Abstract

Abstract  — Tabarru’ funds in Islamic insurance is a number of funds that are used to help each other between insurance participants. In the fund management mechanism with savings element, Tabarru’ funds have a percentage of payment of 5%. Whereas in the management of funds without savings, it is not known how much the percentage must be paid to the company, so that it will cause confusion for customers. In this research, we will discuss how to calculate the tabarru’ funds using the cost of insurance method. This calculation involves the probability of death based on the Makeham mortality table. Makeham Mortality Tables can be arranged by estimating parameters using the least squares method. obtained parameters A, B and C, respectively for men, namely 0.05822, 0.00158 and 1.08394, while for women namely 0.04418, 0.00152 and 1.08400. So the amount of tabarru’ funds  that must be paid by someone aged x that is,Keywords — Tabarru’ funds, Makeham Mortality Law, Least Squares Method, Cost of Insurance Method

Abstract

Abstract — Earthquakes have an impact on building damage. Buildings with low-rise floors are often found to be damaged more than multi-storey buildings. The aim of the research is to  investigate the movement of the building floor to see the structure response of building to the earthquake. Research on mathematical models of the effect of earthquakes on multi-storey buildings involves a system of differential equation which is solved by applying the eigenvalue method and eigenvector. The effect of coulomb damping is also incorporated in this study. The results of the study will show the history of displacement time, velocity, and acceleration of each building floor to earthquake loads and the relationship between natural frequency and earthquake time period. Keywords — Mathematical Modelling, Earthquake, Coulomb Damping.
