Abstract

Scientific publication is one of teacher’s duty to increase their rank, form III/b to III/c. Base on interview with Senior High School teachers at Pesisir Selatan regency, we know that difficult for them to produce scientific publication caused by their ability on choosing data analysis technique which relevant to their case, teachers cannot use the statistical software because its not familiar for them, and they have low quality in interpreting data analysis result. To solve the problems, we offer a workshop of data analysis on scientific writing using statistical software. The target audiences of this workshop is a Group of Teachers on Mathematics Major (MGMP) in Pesisir Selatan. In this workshop, participants are given the basic concept and how to write a scientific writing, basic concept of statistics, and introduction to statistical software i.e. Minitab and SPSS. Beside that, with practical work, the participants learn how to use statistical software and interpretate the data analysis result. Result of the workshops are (1) increasing the ability of participants skills on analysis the data using statistical software and interpretate it.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the creativity of teachers in designing ethnomathematical-based student worksheets through LMS - Edmodo at MGMP SMP Payakumbuh. Ethnomathematics based student activity sheet (LKS) is based on the local culture of Payakumbuh. This Ethnomathematics-based LKS is expected to be the initial foundation for teacher creativity to design and develop Ethnomathematics-based LKS in accordance with Payakumbuh City. The method used in the service is in the form of online and offline workshops. The target audience for this community service is the mathematics teacher in the Payakumbuh Mathematics Junior High School Subject Teacher Consultation. This training stage begins online with a zoom meeting, giving questionnaires, carrying out tests, then followed by making Ethnomathematics-based LKS with the Edmodo platform. The results of the implementation show that the creativity of teachers in designing Ethnomathematics-based worksheets using the Edmodo platform is good, with the percentage of achievement of 79% and the creative achievement of teachers in participating in this activity is 78%.

Abstract

Writing students worksheet is a routine task for each teacher. In this workshop, teachers design the worksheet using lesson study approach. Before design the learning material which is lesson plan and student’s worksheet, the teacher remind the basic concept of probability theory and its related topic. Related topics discuss are probability function, special distribution function, they are binomial and normal distribution. As assessment to the teacher, the devotee gave pretest in the first meeting and post test at the end of workshop. It item consist of lesson study concept, probability function, binomial and normal distribution. Depend on it, we see the increment of teacher’s competency.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the ability of mathematics olympiad coaches through the edmodo platform, and to find out the satisfaction of Bukittinggi junior high school mathematics teachers in fostering mathematics olympiads with the edmodo application. The target audience for the service is mathematics teachers in the Subject Teachers' Consultation (MGMP) at Bukittiggi Junior High School Mathematics. This training stage begins online with workshops from home, giving out questionnaires, administering tests, then followed by giving Edmodo platform skills, strengthening math olympiad training materials, and offline discussion sessions in the Edmodo class. The results of the training implementation showed that the mastery of Mathematics teachers in junior high schools in Bukittinggi City on the Olympic material through the tests given on the Edmodo platform was 76%, meaning that teachers who participated in this activity were able to conduct mathematics Olympiad coaching with the Edmodo application. While the results of the participant satisfaction questionnaire were 81.27% participants had good satisfaction with the training activities carried out.

Abstract

The aim of study to improve competency junior high school mathematics teachers in Solok Selatan district in compiling Olympiad questions mathematics and solving problems based on high order thinking skills (HOTS). The target audience for community service is mathematics teachers incorporated in the Subject Mathematics Teacher's Consultation (MGMP) Mathematics in Solok Selatan. The method used in the service includes the presentation of material by the team community service then carried out the pre test and post test, the design of the question HOTS, discussion and question and answer sessions at the math Olympiad. Conclusions of this research is: There is a positive increase in teacher competency after being given training in compiling math Olympiad questions that the posttest results are better than the results pretest in the training to improve the competency of mathematics teachers in compiling the questions Mathematical Olympiad based on high order thinking skills of SMPN in Solok Selatan District

Abstract

This activity of workshop aims to provide an understanding of the way of developing Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) items, provides direct experience in transforming common problems into HOT questions and in developing HOT items for teachers in Senior High School at SMAN 10 Reference Padang. The target is teachers of Senior High School at Padang district who are chosen by five teacher selected from few teachers impact in Senior High School at Padang The Workshop was held on Saturday in a row on September 22th dan 29 th 2018 at SMA 10 Reference Padang, using presentation, discussions, and question and answer about problems associated with development of HOT items. Based on the result, the attitude of activeness, and responsibility to do assignment in a row in the category good, very good. In general, this workshop activity success and on target, proved by the participants who were very enthusiastic in following the activities from beginning until at the end. Hopefully, the participants who attended the activity willing to share their knowledge with other teachers in their impact school

Abstract

Every mother who will do childbirth generally wants a normal childbirth. But in reality, many mothers give birth abnormally. Based on the 2015 Indonesian Demographic Health Survey (IDHS), the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Indonesia is still quite high that reaching 305 per 100,000 people. The purpose of this study was to determine the form of probit regression models of the factors that influence the risk level of maternal childbirth, describing what factors that influence the level of risk of maternal childbirth, and the opportunities of factors that influence the risk level of maternal childbirth in RST Reksodiwiryo Padang.Based on the results of the study, the best probit regression model that describes the factors that influencethe risk level of maternal childbirth in RST Reksodiwiryo Padang in July, August, and September Tri-Wulan are:(Pi) = 0,808 + 1,295 X3 + 1,334 X4  + 0,878 X7 – 1,819 X8 Keyword:Probit regression analysis, the level of risk of maternal childbirth
