Abstract

This study aims to analyze the determining factors that determine the bilateral trade flow among G7 member countries and Indonesia. This study uses the gravity model of trade as concepted by Timbergen (1962). Panel Regression Analysis with Fixed Effect Method is conducted in order to acknowledge the relationship between Gross Domestic Product (GDP), PerCapita Gross Domestic Product (PCGDP), Exchange Rate (ER), Population (POP), and Distance (DIST) on G7’s Bilateral Trade Flows (BTF) while the data used are both time series (2007-2016) and cross sectional. This study used secondary data obtained from the World Bank, CEPII, UN Comtrade, OECD and ITC Trade Map. The results of this study simultaneously and partially proved that the independent variables as mentioned above definetely have impact on G7’s Bilateral Trade Flows, thus specifically the results show PerCapita Gross Domestic Product (PCGDP), Population (POP), and Distance (DIST) had significant influence on G7’s Bilateral Trade Flows.

Abstract

This research is designed analyze the influence of export, import and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) factors on Indonesia's Foreign Exchange Reserves in 1990-2019. In this study we use 30 observations. The dependent variable in this study is Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves, while the independent variableare exports, imports and Gross Domestic Product (GDP). To see the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable, we use multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the result of determination coefficient, we can conclude that simultaneously all of independent variables (exports, imports and GDP) jointly affect the combined variable (Indonesian foreign exchange reserves) in 1990-2019. The export variable has a positive effect on Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves. Important variables have a significant effect on Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) variable has a significant effect on Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Flypaper Effect on local government expenditure in Bali and Nusa Tenggara in 2014-2018 and to prove whether there is a Flypaper Effect in the region. This study used panel regression analysis with the Eviews 9.0 anaysis tool. The data used in this study are secondary data on the general allocation funds, special allocation funds, profit sharing fund, local government revenue and expenditure of local government for the period of 2014-2018. The results of this study indicate in the regency/municipality of Bali that general allocation funds, special allocation funds and original local government revenue has a positive impact to local government expenditure and Flypaper Effect occurs in districts and municipalities of Bali. while in districts and municipalities of Nusa Tenggara that general allocation funds, special allocation funds, profit sharing funds and original local government revenue has a positive impact to local government expenditure and Flypaper Effect occurs in districts and municipalities of Nusa Tenggara

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of crime on poverty in Sumatra, in addition to using the Human Development Index variable and also the open unemployment rate as independent variables. Fixed Effect Model is the best method used in this study, panel data consisting of 9 years and 10 provinces in Sumatra. Increasing security and comfort is an important thing that must be accommodated in the form of a law. This is a certainty as well as a guarantor to prevent criminal acts by taking action in the form of strict punishment from the government

Abstract

Investment is a commitment to sacrifice current consumption with the aim of increasing consumption in the future. On January 30, 2020, the Ministry of Finance issued Regulation of the Minister of Finance number PMK199/PMK.10/2019, concerning import duty tariffs for retail imported goods. This regulation aims to protect the domestic industry due to the increasing transaction of imported goods using online methods, and is expected to reduce the current balance deficit. This research uses event studies method, which is when the new policy will affect the share price of certain sectors. However, when the provision is established it only has a relatively less strong influence on the volatility of its main share price in the manufacturing sector. Stock price volatility in IDX occurs precisely when the world occurs covid-19 pandemic and the announcement of events that in Indonesia is also affected starting in March 2020. The share price in the manufacturing sector has dropped sharply but there are also subsectors that have strengthened in price

Abstract

This study discusses the influence of balancing funds and locally generated revenue on economic growth in South Sumatra Province in 2014 - 2018. The analytical method used is the Multiple Linear Regression  using the help of the program eviews 10. The results of the calculation show that: (a) partially the Balancing Fund variable (X1) has a significant influence on economic growth in South Sumatra and locally generated revenue (X2) has a significant influence on economic growth in South Sumatra. Then, they are tested to do together it is known that both the Balancing Fund (X1) and locally generated revenue (X2) together have a significant influence on economic growth in South Sumatra. (b) The value of the coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square) is 0.99, it shows that 99% fluctuations in economic growth in South Sumatra are influenced by the Balanced Fund (X1) and locally generated revenue (X2) while the remaining 0,01% is influenced by variables other than variables in this study such as local expenditure and others

Abstract

Examine  the effect of food security which consists of the dimensions of affordability, availability, quality & safety and natural resources on the human development index (HDI) and its impact on the level of economic activity for countries in the Southeast Asia region. The research design uses hypothesis testing of the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable using the Structural Equation Model (SEM). This study uses sample of 9 countries in Southeast Asia region (Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) with a study period of 9 years (20120-2020). The research findings show that the dimensions of affordability and quality & safety have a significant positive effect on HDI, while the dimensions of availability and natural resources have no positive effect on HDI. Other findings also prove that HDI has a positive effect on the level of economic activity (GDP).
