Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe 1) the application of Problem Reality Based Web Course Learning in the Reproductive System Material for Class XI MIPA SMA 1 Bae Kudus. 2) the students' High Order Thinking Skills on Reproductive System Material for Class XI MIPA SMA  1 Bae Kudus. 3) the effect of Web Course Learning Based on Problem Reality for Higher Order Thinking Skills of students XI MIPA on Reproductive System material SMA 1 Bae Kudus. This is experimental research with a quantitative approach. The sample of this study used 70 students from SMA 1 Bae Kudus. Sampling by using the Cluster Random Sampling technique. The data analysis by using the Independent sample t-test. Hypothesis test results show that the value of sig-2 Tailed 0.000 <0.05, the conclusion is that H 1 is  accepted, meaning that there is an effect  of implementation Web Course Learning Based on Problem Reality for Higher Order Thinking Skills of students XI MIPA on Reproductive System material.  This research is expected to be able to provide new results that online learning is able to increase Higher Order Thinking Skills of student.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning interest of class XI students in biology subjects using powerpoint as a learning medium during the pandemic. The subjects of this study were students of class XI MIPA at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta. To find out students' interest in learning using learning media in the form of PowerPoint, a survey method was used by distributing questionnaires via Google Form to students, where the researchers did not give treatment like an experiment. The results showed that the response agreed to the use of powerpoint as a medium for learning biology during a pandemic, it can be seen from the results of research on the aspect of feeling happy showing the response agreeing with the largest percentage, namely 99%, in the aspect of interest showing the response strongly agreeing with the largest percentage 86%, at The acceptance aspect shows a strongly agree response with the largest percentage, namely 98%, and the student involvement aspect shows a agree response with the largest percentage, namely 96%. Through this research, it is known that using powerpoint learning media in biology subjects can increase students' interest in learning.

Abstract

One of the capabilities of 21st-century education is to improve critical thinking skills. However, what happens in the field is that high school students' critical thinking skills are still low. Therefore, a learning model is needed that has the potential to improve critical thinking skills. The model is Problem Based Learning (PBL). This study aims to determine what abilities are obtained from the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) and modified PBL learning models. This type of research is a literature study with a narrative review design. Presentation of data using tables and data analysis using descriptive analysis. The articles obtained were 36 articles related to the PBL model and critical thinking skills. The results showed that the modified PBL and PBL learning models could improve other abilities, such as understanding and mastery of material concepts, student activity, student learning outcomes, scientific thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and creative thinking skills.

Abstract

The biology laboratory is vital in providing students with experience in learning biology, so it needs good management with competent human resources. This study aims to determine the profile of the qualifications and competencies of laboratory staff in supporting laboratory management activities by looking at the achievement of duties and responsibilities to support laboratory management activities in SMA Bantul Regency. This research is descriptive research with qualitative and quantitative approach methods. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and questionnaires. The results of the descriptive analysis show that the laboratory manager as a whole still does not meet the standards. The application of administrative competence is more dominant than the application of professional competence. School B's biology laboratory management is more optimal than other schools.

Abstract

Permendiknas No 24 of the 2007 rule are a requirement to support practicum activities. This study aims to determine the suitability of laboratory infrastructure, types of biology laboratory utilization, and the constraints that affect biology practicum activities. This research is a literature study using 30 articles. Search for articles using online databases with search keywords for articles "the use of laboratory biology", "biological laboratories", "biological laboratory facilities and infrastructure", "utilization of biological laboratories", and "biological practicum analysis" and the time range between 2010-2020. The data analysis technique of this research uses descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed that most of the biology laboratory facilities and infrastructure in schools accordance with Permendiknas standards No. 24 of 2007. Types of the utilization of the biology laboratory include carrying out practicum activities, functioning to increase student learning outcomes, and utilizing practicum tools and materials. Obstacles that affect biology practicum activities are space design that is not appropriate with the rules, practicum schedule is not yet available, practicum tools and materials are limited, laboratory staff is not available, budget constraints are limited, and obstacles coming from teachers
