Abstract

The lack of students' scientific process skills on colloidal system material causes less active behavior in the learning process which results in the quality of low knowledge learning outcomes. This study aims to improve students' scientific process skills and knowledge learning outcomes on colloidal system material.  This study employed experimental research and quasi-experimental methods. The research subjects in the experimental and control classes were 33 people in total. The data collection techniques used were test and non-test techniques. Test instruments included scientific process skills test instruments and knowledge learning outcomes, while non-test instruments were observation sheets and response questionnaires. The factors studied were (1) scientific process skills, (2) knowledge learning outcomes and (3) responses. Data analysis techniques used descriptive and inferential analysis techniques. The results showed that there was an increase in scientific process skills and knowledge learning outcomes after applying the Project Based Learning model (PjB). The results of the increase in scientific process skills with indicators measured, namely: observing, predicting, classifying, interpreting, and communicating were 43.95, 50.90, 55.76, 59.10. The percentage of knowledge results amounted to 85.15% and the results of the questionnaire response amounted to 90.91% with a positive category. It can be inferred that the PjBL model can improve students' scientific process skills and knowledge learning outcomes on colloidal system material.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop an electronic module on static fluid material that contained the local wisdom of South Kalimantan. This study used the ADDIE research and development design. The sample for this research was 62 students in class XI in one of the public schools in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. Data was collected with validation sheets and response questionnaires with a survey technique. The data was then analyzed using the Aiken formula and descriptive statistics. The results showed that the validity in terms of media was 0.92-1.00 and the validity in terms of material was 0.92-1.00. The average student response to the e-module is 4.40 in the very good category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the developed e-module was valid and obtains a very good response, so it is suitable for use as a teaching material on static fluid material.

Abstract

Scientific attitudes are possessed by each student who engages in scientific works, including communication and observation. Scientific attitudes training and application in biology learning are required in order to internalize. Biology is one of the senior high school school subjects in which students are expected to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the subject by comprehending and applying its fundamental concepts and principles to other disciplines. The purpose of this research is to describe the scientific attitude of students of X grades at SMAN 1 Daha Utara, with a particular focus on biology. This is a quantitative study employing a descriptive methodology and a validated questionnaire for data collection. The data collection was conducted via random sampling. Class X students of SMA Daha Utara during the 2022-2023 academic year constitute the population. The research instrument utilized is based on the scientific attitude instrument for biology learning. On the basis of the collected data, it was determined that the scientific attitude of the X grade students at SMAN 1 Daha Utara regarding biology was classified as moderate. The aspects of scientific attitude incorporated in data collection were inquisitive attitude, respect for data/facts, critical thinking, discovery, and perseverance. In biology class, experiential learning activities such as demonstrations and practicums can assist students in internalizing scientific attitudes.

Abstract

The primary objective of this study is to ascertain the usefulness of Mentimeter in improving learning interactions. The type of research used is classroom action research, conducted in a class of 18 seventh-grade students in the even semester of 2022-2023 at SMP Hidayatul Muhajirin. The research consists of two cycles, and the implementation of each cycle includes stages such as planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study discovered that the learning interaction activities among students consistently increased in each meeting, with an average of 67% in Cycle I and 78% in Cycle II. There was an increase of 11%, indicating good criteria. The improvement in learning interaction among students was due to the utilization of Mentimeter as a learning media. The Mentimeter application has various features that allow teachers to create interactive and engaging learning activities, such as quizzes, polls, and word clouds. The use of these features helps students to be more involved in the learning process and improves their understanding of the material. The research also found that Mentimeter can provide real-time feedback to both teachers and students. Teachers can track students' understanding of the material, and students can see their progress throughout the learning process. This feedback helps teachers adjust their teaching methods and materials according to students' needs. Based on the analysis and discussion of the research, it can be summarized that the use of Mentimeter can enhance the learning interaction of students. The use of Mentimeter can be recommended for teachers to improve the quality of learning interactions and create a more engaging and interactive learning environment.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to produce a valid electronic module integrated the local wisdom in South Kalimantan on heat and temperature materials, receiving positive responses from students. The ADDIE model was employed for this study, focusing on high school students in South Kalimantan, totaling 62 participants. Research instruments included validation sheets and response questionnaires, with data collected through a survey technique. Data analysis involved the Aiken formula and mean calculations. Results indicated high validity for the e-module concerning both media and material aspects (0.92-1.00). Students' average response to the e-module was excellent, scoring 4.41. Consequently, the e-module demonstrated validity and positive reception among students, making it suitable for use in physics education, particularly for heat and temperature topics.
