Abstract

Production scheduling is an important thing done in the company so that consumer demand is met on time. PT Mitra Mulia Makmur implements the scheduling principle of First Come First Serve in producing plastic container products. The scheduling applied is not yet effective and efficient because there are some late consumer demands. The delay in consumer demand is due to longer processing time than the specified time limit. In the study using Integer Linear Programming (ILP) method to minimize total tardiness (total tardiness). ILP was chosen as a method of solving delay problems. ILP can help the company’s decision-making process to achieve a purpose function by considering the constraints or constraints in the company. Linear Integer Programming method with the help of LINGO 16.0 software can produce improvements.

Abstract

Customer service is a very important aspect within the supply chain. Through collaboration, the goal of each party within the supply chain is to add value to a product, in order to accelerate good customer service.  Good customer service leads to customer satisfaction and most importantly it developed customer loyalty. These are the main goal of ever firm in the supply chain, starting from raw material, production, distribution and down to the final consumer. This work is developed to investigate the impact of supply chain management collaboration activities on customer service in an inter-organizational context. This is done by examining how effective collaboration in supply chain management creating confidence and trust between vendor-customer relationships that provides benefit to both organizations; one of such benefit is improved customer service. This can be obtained through the use of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), which ensures that products are delivered to customers faster with great accuracy, and demand forecasting and inventory management, which ensures that vendors maintain optimal inventory level so that they always have what customers want in stock. The method used in this work is by gathering information from several articles, journals and text books relating to this research work. There is a total of 49 including journals, books and articles used in this work, all of which are related to this study.

Abstract

The manufacturing industry which produces cans with non-food industrial markets are conducting an assessment for the storage activity of canned product that have been using containers in their warehouse. This is due to the fluctuation of product demand in the diameter of 57 mm that exceeds the warehouse capacity in some periods, thus causing pounding in the pound area and not optimally charging the component due to the many types of containers used in the warehouse area of the component.  In this research, the re-designing of container using Quality Function Deployment method had done to overcome these problem. After obtaining the proposal results of container design, then redesigned the layout in the pounding area. Based on the analysis results, the volume capacity of the container proposal on pounding area was larger 69.120.000.000 mm3 compared to the existing containers, thus the container proposal can be filled more optimal with the can components than the existing containers.

Abstract

The decision to dispatch consumers demand has become a strategic and tactical consideration to be solved in an integrated manner. In this study, the problem of determining routing problem take case study of delivery of perishable product. The routes determination should take into account the unique characteristics of perishable products possess. Perishable products continuously decreases quality over their lifetime. The challenge for distributors is how to minimize the cost of delivering perishable products by taking into account the temperature so that it can serve a number of customers within the specified timeframe,The problem of determining the route on delivery is included in the combinatorial optimization problem, thus causing this problem to be complex to be solved by the exact method. On the other hand, metaheuristic methods are increasingly being developed to be applied in the completion of combinatorial optimizations. This research started from mathematical model of perishable product delivery which pay attention to perishability (quality, temperature, quality loss) and time windows. Based on this model, this research develops the route settlement algorithm of delivery of perishable product using metaheuristic, particle swarm optimization. The algorithm development is required because route determination included in discrete issues. In addition, the development of algorithms to improve performance by combining (hybrid) algorithms, nearest neighbor and particle swarm optimization. Experiments were performed on 2 sets of Solomon data. From the experimental results with the metaheuristic hybrid algorithm is able to provide better performance than pure metaheuristik. Although the solution gap produced by these two algorithms is not very significant, but when viewed from the computation time and the number of iterations required to find the best solution, this metaheuristic hybrid algorithm can save an average time of 17 times from pure metaheuristic algorithm.
