Abstract

Men's participation in the Family Planning (KB) program is still very minimal due to the limited choice of contraceptive methods. Efforts need to be made to develop contraceptive methods, one of which is using natural ingredients. Bitter melon (Momordica charantia L) is known to have potential benefits as a male antifertility agent. This research used an experimental design with a sample size of 20 mice divided into 4 groups randomly. Treatment groups 1-3 were given different doses, namely 100, 80, 60 mg of bitter melon ethanol extract/100g BW/day, and the control group was given distilled water for 35 days. The mice were sacrificed the day after the last dose, then spermatozoa were collected from the epididymis and their number, motility, viability and morphology were examined. The results of this study showed a significant decrease in the number and motility of spermatozoa and was directly proportional to the size of the dose given. In terms of viability parameters, there was a significant decrease at all doses. Meanwhile, for spermatozoa morphology, only a dose of 100 mg had a significant impact. The conclusion from the results of this research is that giving bitter melon fruit extract has an effect on the number, motility, viability and morphology of spermatozoa. The most effective dose is 100 mg/100 gBB/day.

Abstract

Stroke is a reduced blood flow and oxygen to the brain due to blockage, narrowing, or rupture of blood vessels. Stroke leading weakness of the face, according to damage in the frontal motor area. One way to overcome a facial weakness is to apply mirror therapy of the face which is a combination of mirror therapy and facial exercises. The purpose of this case study is to illustrate the application of facial mirror therapy in stroke patients with facial muscle abilities. This type of research is descriptive by using a case study approach. The subjects in this study were 2 stroke patients with the criteria for facial muscle weakness, which is having a sagging face, having a recurrent attack or having just had a stroke. The study showed that an increase in facial muscle ability in subject 1 from the sufficient category (score 21) to the good category (score 29), subject 2 from the sufficient category (score 24) to the good category (score 32). Recommendation : Nurses can apply Mirror Therapy of the Face to improve the ability of facial muscles in stroke patients.

Abstract

Working position when typing is closely related to ergonomics or comfort issues, especially in the areas of design, position and proper body posture. MTrPs is a condition describing acute or chronic soft tissue pain, which occurs in muscles or muscle fascia. MTrPs cause contraction of knots or nodes that can form in a muscle band junction which is a source of pain. Pain or discomfort in the form of a prickling, throbbing, cutting and burning sensation in the loose connective tissue that covers the trapezius muscle due to trigger points. Data on computer workers in the Pedurungan Wetan area is 24 workers. This research method is a pre-experimental one group pre and post test design and sampling using purposive sampling technique. The population of this research is rental workers who work in Tlogosari Wetan, Pedurungan, Semarang City. The research instrument uses VAS (Vasual Analog Skill). The research stages consist of preparation, implementation and processing of research data. The steps taken at the preparation stage are literature study, field survey, outreach to rental workers. The implementation stage is carried out by collecting data. The results of this study showed that there was a relationship between typing time and the occurrence of MTrPs in the Upper Trapezius Muscle.

Abstract

A pregnant woman is a woman who is pregnant, starting from contraception until the birth of the fetus. The aim of ANC is to identify pregnancy complications that may occur during early pregnancy, to improve and maintain the health of the mother and baby. Covid-19 is a disease that attacks the respiratory system which has become an epidemic in Wuhan (China) which has spread throughout the world and has become a global pandemic. The research method is quantitative description. This research was conducted from January – July 2022. The population was 30 respondents, and the sample used an accidental sampling technique. The results of the distribution show that the majority age category is 20-35 years old, numbering 28 people (93.3%), the majority parity category for multiparas is 22 people (73.3%), the majority education category for high school education is 17 people (56, 7%), in the knowledge category the majority had sufficient and insufficient knowledge each amounting to 11 people (36.7%), and in the anxiety category the majority had no anxiety totaling 12 people (40%). The p-value for the level of anxiety was obtained at 0.014 and the p-value for the level of knowledge was 0.017 with ɑ (0.05), so it was concluded that there was a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the level of anxiety regarding ANC visits during the Covid 19 pandemic at the Pratama Hana Kasih Clinic in 2022. It is hoped that mothers can increase awareness and vigilance during ANC visits at health facilities to reduce the risk of transmission of the Covid-19 virus.

Abstract

Children are an invaluable national asset. Children are part of the young population who need to be cared for, so that they can grow and develop optimally according to their potential. Motor development is an element of maturity in controlling body movements and the brain as the center of movement. Children's motor development can be assessed using the KPSP (Pre-Developmental Screening Questionnaire) which is an early detection instrument in the development of children aged 0 to 6 years. Gross motor skills are physical movements that require balance and coordination between body parts using the large muscles of some or all of the body parts. Gross motor development needs to be stimulated so that children can develop optimally. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of Brain Gym therapy on the gross motor development of preschool children. The design of this research is to use a Quasy experiment with a one group pre test-post test design. pre – post test. The total sample was 16 respondents with a purposive sampling model. The results of this research show that there is an effect of Brain Gym therapy on increasing gross motor development in preschool children with a p value of 0.001. The conclusion of this research is that there is an increase in gross motor development after implementing Brain Gym therapy in preschool children. Parents are advised to carry out this brain gym therapy at home to further optimize their child's development, especially gross motor development.
