Tamaddun is a multidisciplinary peer reviewed and open access journal in language, literature, and culture. The aim is to publish conceptual and research articles that explore the application of any language in teaching and the everyday experience of language in education. Its scope is international in that it welcomes articles from academics, researchers, graduate students and policy makers. All articles should be in English. Abstract

Writing poetry for ordinary people is still a complicated thing. The challenge that is often felt is the use of language style in the creation of poetry. The author often does not understand the right style of language for a work of poetry. Many language styles are chosen in the creation of poetry and as a channeling of ideas. One style of language is the Anafora form. The purpose of this writing is to describe the forms of anaphora in poetry. The benefits of writing are finding forms of anaphora in poetry and can apply them in the form of writing poetry. The writing method used is descriptive qualitative research. The results of the discussion showed the existence of anaphorous forms in the poetry window of the world.

Abstract

Al Quran merupakan sebuah kitab suci bagi umat Islam, yang disampaikan Allah SWT kepada Rasulullah dengan perantaraan malaikat Jibril. Kitab ini merupakan petujuk dan aturan hidup yang paling sempurna, yang diturunkan untuk membimbing manusia ke arah kebahagiaan dan kebaikan. Ayat-ayat dalam Kitab Al Quran menggunakan bahasa Arab dan susunan kalimat-kalimatnya mengandung nilai sastra yang sangat sempurna. Aspek seni dalam al-qur’an bukan hanya gambaran alam semesta yang selalu ditampilkan, akan tetapi pengaruh kepada jiwa pembaca dan pendengar baik yang faham atapun tidak faham maknanya, itulah aspek lain dari kemukjizatan al-Qur’an.

Abstract

Bahasa meminangan pada adat Bugis Bone memiliki unsur budaya yang unik, sehingga menarik untuk dilakukan kajian. Adanya kelangkaan buku-buku atau referensi tentang bahasa meninang sehingga dikhawatirkan akan punah. Bentuk keperihatinan penulis terhadap masalah yang diungkap di atas mendorong niat penulis untuk mengangkat tema tersebut dalam kajian ini. Tujuannya untuk mengetahui karakteristik bahasa meminang adat Bugis Bone. Metode yang yang digunakan adalah metode analisis isi dengan pendekatan budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa karakteristik bahasa meninang adat bugis Bone adalah mengutamakan kesantunan berbahasa. Pengungkapan maksud dan tujuan penutur melalui bahasa kiasan atau pemajasan.

Abstract

This Research aimed to find out the constructions of Sentence Structure particularly in the fifth semester students’ assigments of bussiness letters. Besides that, this research also aimed to find out the errors of Sentenc Structure Constructions which made by the fifth semester students. This reseach used a descriptive method in order to describe and explain some constructions and errors which are made by the fifth semeseter students. The result of this research helps the students in learning English and the students can increase their ability in constructing sentence structure specially for their advance writing. Their writing can be more interesting with a complete sentence structure.

Abstract

Writing as a productive activity for high school students can provide many benefits, such as developing creativity, instilling courage and self-confidence, organizing and clarifying thoughts, ways of thinking, intelligence, and emotional sensitivity of students. The many benefits can be obtained in learning to write, the writing activity should be one of the activities that students like. The researcher has an idea to conduct research with the title "Improving the Learning of Writing Persuasion Essay by Applying Example-Based Learning Model (Example Non Examples) Class X Students of SMA Negeri 1 Awangpone Kab. Bone ". The problem was examined to overcome the problem of learning to write persuasion in class X SMA Negeri 1 Awangponewhich is categorized as low. This type of research includes Classroom Action Research which aims to improve the learning of writing persuasion writing by applying an example-based learning model (example non examples) of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Awangpone Kab. Bone. This class action research was conducted in two cycles, each of which was carried out through four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Cycle II was carried out as an implementation of action which was an improvement in learning from cycle I. The results of this study also showed a significant improvement in the learning process and in learning outcomes. The classroom atmosphere seems conducive and students appear more enthusiastic andmotivated to participate in learning, cooperate with each other in groups and appear to be active in writing persuasion essays.

Abstract

The present study is about the ordering adjective in adjective order. In this study the writer explores the students’ understanding and the student errors in the adjective order term. The writer employed pre-experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test design. The sample consisted of 40 students taken from the second class of SMA Negeri 21 Makassar, academic 2014/2015. The data were collected by giving the student test. The data collected were analyzed by using scoring classification, mean score and percentage. To find out whether fighting question method can improve student understanding in ordering adjective orders and what is the most student errors in term adjective order. The result of the data analysis showed that there was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test. The value of mean of mean score post-test (69) is greater than the pre-test (43.25) and the most students errors in adjective order term is the position of an adjective ”Shape”.
