Abstract

This research modifies the bottle jack to remove the electric motor bearing of a water pump with a jackcapacity of 2 tons. Bottle jacks are generally used to lift vehicles such as cars. The bottle jack can be modified sothat it can be used as a bearing removal device. In general, the way to remove the bearing is still manual, namelyby hitting it. The purpose of making this tool is to make it easier to remove the water pump electric motor bearing.The working principle of this removal tool is to use hydraulic power as the driving force. Pushers from the bottomup on the water pump dynamo shaft and a tracker as a means of holding the bearing. The bearing holder is neededso that the bearing can be separated from the water pump dynamo shaft. The specifications of the tool are that ithas a height of 16 - 27 cm. The width of the tool is 6 cm and the maximum pressure capacity of the bottle jack is2 tons. The trial results of the bottle jack modification tool to remove the water pump electric motor bearingsobtained an average time of 45 seconds.

Abstract

The contact between ball and tennis racket is a collision phenomenon. The ball exerts a force on the racket which causes deflection. This study aims to obtain the deflection characteristics of a tennis racket due to ball contact. The research was conducted by experiment with Kinetic brand rackets. The racket is clamps on the grip. The ball used is Nassau brand with 0.058 kg of mass. Free fall is arranged 1, 2 and 3 meters heights, with 3 hitting points on racket string. The deflection measurement uses the pen method at 5 points on racket frame. Five points are arranged sequentially from the grip with 6 cm distance. Data collection was carried out with 3 repetitions to get average value. The deflection was measured using a caliper with 0.01 mm accuracy. The results show that the deflection has a linear characteristic and depends on the momentum of the ball.

Abstract

The electrical system Auxiliary Power Unit on the Boeing 737-500 aircraft often experiences operational failure due to damage to the components in the system, this incident causes significant operational losses so that an appropriate maintenance method is needed to eliminate the factors that cause failure in the Electrical system Auxiliary Power Units. The purpose of this study is to plan preventive maintenance activities on the Electrical Auxiliary Power Unit system so that part damage that causes failure can be handled properly. The reliability method is calculated using the Weibull probability distribution so that the critical operating time limit is obtained on the Electrical Auxiliary Power Unit system. From the calculation results, the critical operational limit for the Electrical Auxiliary Power Unit system is 271 flight cycle with the main damage being the start relay component, with maintenance activities in the form of inspection, repair, testing and cleaning activities.
