Abstract

The rapid increase in the population of Indonesia in the era of globalization has caused many problems, one of which is the narrowing of job vacancies. Job opportunities with people looking for work more people looking for work. If someone has an interest in creating their own jobs (entrepreneurship) in accordance with the skills and knowledge they have, there is no need to rely on getting jobs from other people or government agencies. The population in this study were students of class XII in the Natural Sciences Program in the 2010/2011 academic year, consisting of 3 classes. The research was conducted in the even semester of the 2010/2011 academic year. The samples used were class XII IPA 1, XII IPA 2 and XII IPA 3. The research design used was the One Shot Case Study design. Data analysis was carried out using quantitative descriptive and percentage descriptive. The results showed that the interest in entrepreneurship in class XII IPA 1 was 82.86%, class XII IPA 2 was 88.25% and class XII IPA 3 was 80%. The high activity of students during learning activities is in line with good student learning outcomes, namely 100% of students achieving the completion criteria. Teachers show good to very good performance. It is known that both students and teachers are interested in the practical application of making tempeh. The conclusion from this research is that the application of practicum for making tempeh can attract students' interest in entrepreneurship, increase student activity and learning outcomes in learning the biotechnology sub-material.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out what types of plants are used as traditional medicine in Sumillan Village, Alla' District, to find out how to process medicinal plants, and to find out which parts are used as medicinal plants in Sumillan Village, Alla' District. This research was carried out for approximately two months, from November to December 2020. Data collection techniques were carried out using in-depth interviews, field surveys and questionnaire techniques. The results of this study indicate that the types of medicinal plants used by the people in Sumillan Village were identified as many as 18 plant species used as traditional medicinal ingredients, the way the people in Sumillan Village processed these plants for treatment was boiling and then drinking, boiling then washing, pounding and then smearing, baked and then smeared, grated and then drunk, grated and then smeared, cut and then smeared, chewed and then drunk, crushed and then drunk, kneaded and pasted. However, the people in Sumillan Village more often use the concoction by boiling it and then drinking it to sick patients and the parts used are 5 parts of the plant that are used as ingredients for traditional medicine, namely leaves, stems, fruit, roots and sap.

Abstract

Procurement of staple materials by Perum Bulog, especially rice, has quality standards that must be applied to all rice, so there is a need for rice supervision to determine the feasibility of the rice given to consumers. The purpose of this research is to find out the monitoring process carried out by Perum Bulog in order to get the quality of rice according to the quality standards set. The results showed that the quality of Bulog's rice procurement was in accordance with the quality of rice determined by BULOG itself. The results of this overall inspection concluded that the Central Kalimantan Regional Office of the Bulog Regional Office conducted the procurement and supply of rice according to the applicable quality standards and the rice that was distributed was suitable for consumers.

Abstract

Corn (Zea mays L.) is a food plant that is rich in carbohydrates. Bacillus subtilis bacteria are rod-shaped bacteria packaged as formulations. The B. subtilis BNt8 formulation is a bacterial culture obtained from Bone Regency, South Sulawesi, which can stimulate the growth of corn plants. The advantage of the B. subtilis BNt8 formulation is that the nutrients it contains are more quickly available and easily absorbed by plants. This research aims to determine the effect of various concentrations of B. subtilis BNt8 formulations on the growth of corn seeds. This type of research is quantitative research. The research approach used was a laboratory experiment using a one-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 8 treatments and 3 replications so that there were 24 experimental units, namely 0.5 gr/ml water (P1), 0.75 gr/ml water (P2 ), 1 gr/ml water (P3), 1.25 gr/ml water (P4), 1.5 gr/ml water (P5), 1.75 gr/ml water (P6), 2 gr/ml water ( P7) and control without formulation. The results obtained from this research were that B. subtilis BNt8 formulations with various treatment concentrations had no significant effect on root length, sprout length and plant fresh weight.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of giving a combination of the hormones auxin and gibberellin on the growth and production of cayenne pepper plants. The design used in this research was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 25 treatments and 2 replications using combined auxin and gibberellin concentrations of 0,50,100,150,200 ppm. It is applied three times, namely when soaking the seeds and spraying when flower buds form and after the young plants bear fruit. The research results were analyzed using Kruskall-Wallis which showed that there was no effect of giving a combination of auxin and gibberellin hormones on all observation parameters. Growth parameters including plant height and number of leaves were highest in treatment 17, namely a combination of 150 ppm auxin and 50 ppm gibberellin with a value of 21.46 cm and 18.9 fruit. Production yield parameters which include anthesis time and the highest number of flowers in treatment 17, namely a combination of 150 ppm auxin and 50 ppm gibberellin with values of 35.5 days and 3.94 fruit, then the number of fallen flowers and the lowest number of fallen fruit in treatment 21, namely the combination 200 ppm auxin and 0 ppm gibberellin with a value of 1.28 fruit and 0 fruit, then the highest number of fruit was in treatment 7, namely a combination of 50 ppm auxin and 50 ppm gibberellin with a value of 43.5 fruit. The most optimal combination in the P17 treatment is a combination of 150 ppm auxin and 50 ppm gibberellin.

Abstract

One of the causes of poor environmental conditions is the increasing number of infectious diseases caused by vectors. Flies are vectors that act as intermediaries for disease transmission, so their presence needs to be controlled. Therefore control is really needed, one of the controls that can be done is vegetable pesticides. This biopesticide consists of active ingredients that are environmentally friendly because their contents are biodegradable. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of fragrant pandan leaf extract as an insecticide against house flies. This type of research is pure experimental research with a Posttest Only Control Group Design, which is a design that does not use a pretest on the sample before treatment. The results of this study show that the lowest Musca domestica mortality rate was at a concentration of 5%, namely 1 animal (15%) and the highest mortality was at a concentration of 15%, namely 13 individuals. The ANOVA test results show that p-value = 0.000 (p<0.05) so Ha is accepted. And the LC50 probit analysis results were 90.8657 ppm < 1000 µg/mL (ppm). The parameters observed in this study were the death of adult flies after being exposed to fragrant pandan leaf extract with each concentration in percent (%) and the death of flies in the control group. Fly death is characterized by not moving or not responding to stimuli. Observations were carried out every 60 minutes until the 24th hour after treatment in accordance with WHO standards, namely regarding standards for research on insects. Based on the description above, testing the effectiveness of the botanical insecticide fragrant pandan leaf extract against house flies has been carried out for approximately 4 months. So it can be concluded that fragrant pandan leaf extract is toxic to house flies, requiring further research regarding the concentration of related things, which is the most effective and efficient in killing house flies.

Abstract

One natural ingredient that has the potential to be used as traditional medicine is the peel of the Kepok banana (Musa paradisiaca L). This study aims to determine the effect of administering Kepok banana peel extract with different solvents on reducing blood sugar levels in male mice and to determine the secondary metabolite content of Kepok banana peel. This research uses extraction methods, effectiveness testing, fractionation and identification. The effectiveness test was carried out using male mice. Data analysis was carried out by ANOVA using SPSS V 20 for Windows 10 and the Least Significant Difference (BNT) test. Fractionation was carried out using TLC and KKCV. Identification of secondary metabolite compounds was carried out using phytochemical tests and Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS). The results of the study showed that the extract that had the greatest effect on lowering blood sugar levels was the ethyl acetate extract of Kepok banana peel which was predicted to contain flavonoid secondary metabolite compounds in the form of flavonoids 5, 7, 3', 5'-tetrahydroxy-3-4-flavon- diol (m/z 306 g/mol).

Abstract

This research aims to determine the factors that influence the response of rice farmers to the use of organic fertilizer in Sawakong Village, Galesong District, south of Takalar Regency and to determine the response of rice farmers to the use of organic fertilizer in Sawakong Village, Galesong District, south of Takalar Regency. The sample determination in this research was carried out by purposive sampling on 20 rice farmers in Sawakong Village. The data analysis used is analysis using scoring techniques. The research results show that internal factors such as farming experience are in the high category and the farmer's age and formal education are in the medium category. Meanwhile, external factors that influence farmers' responses are the expected benefits, the time interval between the start of use and obtaining the benefits and the energy/sacrifice expended. Meanwhile, there are three responses of rice farmers to the use of organic fertilizer, namely cognitive responses with an average of 3.00, affective responses with an average of 2.25 and conative responses with an average of 2.41. South Galesong District, Takalar Regency, especially in Sawakong Village is one of the villages that has implemented organic farming. Some people in carrying out rice farming activities use organic fertilizer. Farmers' still unfamiliar opinions about organic fertilizers cause differences in their application in the field.

Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the growth performance, biochemical parameters and carcass characteristics of slow-growing Dutch blue broilers in a tropical environment over a period of 14 weeks. A total of 240, 14 – day old Dutch blue broilers were randomly assigned to four treatment groups (T0, T1, T2 and T3) and were fed diets containing 0%, 1%, 2% and 3% palm oil, respectively. Data were collected on feed intake, body weight, biochemical parameters, organs and carcass weight. The collected data were analyzed using GraphPad Prism version 8.0 software. The results showed that the feed intake of the broilers increased as the level of palm oil incorporation increased. The average daily gain was higher in groups T2 and T3 compared to the other groups. Feed conversion ratio was positively impacted by the inclusion of 1% and 2% palm oil in the diet. An increase in total cholesterol levels was observed as the level of palm oil inclusion increased, while the lowest concentrations of total protein and triglycerides were found in the group fed the control diet. With regards to carcass characteristics, the yields of breast meat, drumstick, and carcass increased as the level of palm oil inclusion in the diet increased. However, there was no significant effect on thigh yield (P > 0.05). The relative weight of the liver decreased significantly with of palm oil levels, while the relative weights of the spleen and heart remained similar (P > 0.05). The inclusion of 1% and 2% palm oil in the broiler feed improves feed efficiency, growth performance, and carcass yield.
