COMPETITIVE: Journal of Education is a peer-reviewed journal published by Perkumpulan Dosen Fakultas Agama Islam Indramayu. The journal is aimed at spreading the research results conducted by academicians, educators, researchers, administrators at academic institutions, and practitioners in the field education in both theory and practice. This study aims to determine the concept of Islamic boarding schools in general to find out the views of KH. Abdurrahman Wahid on the concept of advancing pesantren education. In this study, researchers used a literature study using descriptive research methods, namely from all the data collected and then analyzed qualitatively. This research concludes that the concept of Islamic boarding school education is the basis of character education by emphasizing the concept of moral education based on the Qur'an and Hadith. That humans are taught to always be good and the best and to be able to prevent bad deeds. The process of learning and teaching in the pesantren environment is not just mastering religious sciences but also the process of forming a view of life, and determining the behavior of the students after they return from the Islamic boarding school to the life of the community. The concept of advancing pesantren put forward by KH. Abdurrahman Wahid namely: encouraging a program of mixing religious and non-religious components in the formal curriculum at Islamic boarding schools, skills programs and community development programs.

The purpose of this study was to determine the concept of Islamic religious education from the perspective of Abuddin Nata. This type of research uses library research methods that focus on studies and the study of a manuscript. This is done because the data sources obtained and used by researchers are in the form of literature. The conclusion of this study is to state that the Qur'an and al-Hadith are the main sources of Islamic education. The concept of Islamic education is monotheism which is imbued with divine and at the same time education in Islam as a form of worship. Education is essentially to increase human values to a higher degree. In the beginning humans were one people and then multiplied and there were differences in ethnicity, skin color, and language and so on. National and language differences are not an obstacle to realizing the unity and oneness of mankind, basically education must be able to bring back one people.

The purpose of this study was to find out whether the application of the discussion method could improve student learning outcomes in the subject of Fiqh class IX A MTS Negeri 2 Indramayu. This type of research is the Mixed Method method, which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. Mixed method is a method that uses a combination of research procedures, where one method is more dominant than the other. Less dominant methods are only positioned as complementary methods as additional data. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of the application of the Discussion learning method in Fiqh subjects has a positive influence in increasing students' learning interest. it can be concluded that the discussion method proved to be very effective for increasing motivation and learning outcomes. This can be seen in the observation scores obtained for class IX A at MTs Negeri 2 Indramayu in cycle I, namely (58.3%) and the results of the test, namely (54.84%) students who passed. In cycle II, there was a significant increase in class observation scores (80.5%) and the test results (87.10%) of students who passed in the high category because they exceeded the KKM standards carried out at MTs Negeri 2 Indramayu.

The purpose of this study was to find out how the implementation of student discipline in improving learning achievement in class XI MA Fatahillah Lohbener Indramayu. This type of research is field research using a qualitative approach and using descriptive analysis, with data collection techniques carried out by observation, documentation, interviews, and questionnaires. The conclusion of the study is that the implementation of student discipline at MA Fatahillah Lohbener Indramayu is going well and students obey the rules made by the school. Then the effort to implement student discipline in improving learning achievement is to apply time discipline, dress discipline, worship discipline, study discipline, school activity discipline and apply strict punishments. From these efforts it is evident that there has been an increase in student discipline. The improvement is that students can implement discipline at school, the enthusiasm for learning and student learning outcomes are increasing, as evidenced by the many academic achievements obtained by MA Fatahillah Lohbener Indramayu students. The purpose of this study was to find out how the application of the Mind Mapping learning method could increase students' interest in learning Fiqh class VIII A at MTs YAPIIM Dukuh Indramayu. The type of this research is the Mixed Method method, which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. Mixed method is a method that uses a combination of research procedures, where one method is more dominant than the other. Less dominant methods are only positioned as complementary methods as additional data. The complementary method in this research is the qualitative method and the complementary method is the quantitative method. The conclusion of this study is the implementation of the application of the method Mind Mapping learning on Fiqh subjects has a positive influence in increasing student learning interest. There is an increase in student learning interest in fiqh subjects using the Mind Mapping learning method. The results of observations in the first cycle of enthusiasm and activity of class VIII A MTs YAPIIM Dukuh Indramayu were in the good category, namely 66.6% and the observation results of the second cycle have reached 83.3%. Results of the questionnaire/questionnaire Student interest in cycle I was 72.8% and there was an increase in interest in learning in cycle II, namely 76.8% which was in the very high category.
