Abstract

The era of regional autonomy as an implication of the enactment of Law no. 32 of 2004, provides opportunities for each Regency/City Government to plan and manage their own regional development, as well as demands for active community participation in the development process from planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The community as the main component in the development of community-based tourism has an important role in supporting the development of regional tourism which is aimed at developing local potential that comes from nature, socio-culture or the community's economy. Law No. 9 of 1990 concerning Tourism states that the community has the same and widest opportunity to participate in the implementation of tourism. Community participation in maintaining the natural and cultural resources owned is a big contribution and has the potential to become a tourist attraction. The local community of Manukaya Let Traditional Village, Tampaksiring District, Gianyar Regency plays an important role in planning and developing heritage tourism at Tirta Empul Temple. the involvement of local communities in tourism activities at Tirta Empul Temple does not provide direct economic benefits to all local communities involved in tourism operations to support their families' lives because they are still carrying out their respective professions as farmers, breeders, traders and employees or other employees to meet their needs. daily.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and interpret data about the role of communication media, and their effects on the development of tourist villages in Bali. This research is included in the category of qualitative research, which uses a phenomenological approach to communication. Data and information about alternative models of Balinese cultural tourism development, processed based on the perspective of dependency theory, are used to analyze the concept of audience, the concept of social systems, and the concept of the media system to find facts about the role of communication media and their effects on the development of tourist villages in Bali. After collecting data through literature study, this research succeeded in finding facts about two important things. First, the role of communication media for the development of tourist villages in Bali which is identified as a source and information center for tourist villages. In this case, the audience is assumed to be highly dependent on communication media, both print and digital media, as well as social media. The media serves as a source of information. There is a dependence of the audience on the media as a source of information. Messages that are needed by the audience such as tourist sites, physical infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water, hotels and restaurants, gift shops, banks, culinary tours. In addition, the media is important to inform about the existence of social infrastructure, climate/social situation such as an open and friendly society towards tourists, ease of business licensing in the tourism sector, environmental protection/preservation. Second, the effect of mass media on the development of tourist villages in Bali. The types of effects that can be identified and interpreted by the data include: (a) Cognitive effects, namely: creating clear messages or information about tourism products offered through mass media; (b) Affective effect, providing information to tourists about things that are taboo which if violated can experience unwanted things, an information that provides a deterrent effect to do things that are contrary to local cultural values. (c) Behavioral effects, namely: an agreement to work together to do positive things after experiencing something positive in places that have been visited.

Abstract

Saronde Island Ecotourism Destinations are part of the Togean National Tourism Destination - Gorontalo and its surroundings as a New Ecotourism Destination in Indonesia. However, its vulnerability to an earthquake that may have the potential for a tsunami makes this ecotourism destination need to be supported by its ecological resilience against disasters that may directly impact the Saronde Island Ecotourism Destination. This study aims to analyze the potential for disasters and plan the arrangement of the landscape and vegetation in the Saronde Island Ecotourism Destination to reduce the risk if a disaster occurs in that destination. This research method uses a qualitative approach through several stages of planning processes. The informants in this study came from government circles in charge of tourism and disaster in North Gorontalo as well as from the management of the Saronde Island Ecotourism Destination. The results showed that Saronde Island is susceptible to earthquakes and tsunamis because it is on a fault line and has several historical records of earthquake source points in the northern part of the Sulawesi sea. So landscape planning through spatial planning and utilization of vegetation can be applied as an effort to bridge the ecological function of the island and the function of tourism, especially for the security and safety of tourists and local communities. Managers and local governments need to take firm structural measures, starting from determining island zoning, supporting facilities such as interpretation media, evacuation route and supporting non-structural regulations such as determining disaster mitigation scenarios.

Abstract

Predicting business continuity is very important because it will describe the financial condition of the hotel, restaurant and tourism sub-sector companies affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of twenty-nine (29) hotel, restaurant and tourism sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2020 became the object of research. In assessing the sustainability of the company, this study uses a modified Altman Z-Score model, which consists of four (4) ratios. These ratios include: working capital divided by total assets, retained earnings divided by total assets, EBIT divided by total assets, and book value of equity divided by book value of liability. From this model, the Z-Score value of each company will be obtained, which is then categorized into Healthy, Vulnerable, and Bankrupt Potential categories. This research shows that, of the 29 companies tested, 12 of them are in the Healthy category, 4 companies are in the Vulnerable category and 13 companies are in the Bankrupt Potential category. Prediction of business continuity is carried out so that the company can find out as early as possible the potential for bankruptcy and minimize this potential in the future. This prediction also helps managers in assessing the company's performance and operations, and determining whether the company has performed well or not. Future research can test the same model in other sectors on the IDX, and also on hotels, restaurants and tourism sub-sector companies in companies that have not been listed on the IDX.

Tour guiding is one of the school subjects’ to be taught in school, especially for students who enroll in tourism school. This subject gives knowledge to be a good tour guide and be the leader of the improvement of good tourism aspect in a country. To be a good tour guide, it is a must to have knowledge in every aspect of tourism, one of them is cultural tourism. Cultural tourism can be seen in many countries, especially Bali (one of the destination places in Indonesia) that has many cultures within it, such as ogoh-ogoh that become one attraction for domestic and non-domestic tourists. This study aims at finding the appropriate technique of teaching in tour guiding subject with item “Description of ogoh-ogoh’s story”. The method of this research is qualitative method with observation, interview, and documentation as the data collection and library research as the supporting data to complete the primary data. The informantsused in this research were purposively determined. This study is able to help teachers to find out how they teach the students with appropriate technique. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the description of ogoh-ogoh’s story can be found properly by interviewing the architects of the ogoh-ogoh in order to find out the sotry in more details. The theme of ogoh-ogoh’s story can be in many forms, such as evil, monster, or sometimes God (its manifestation) againsts evil or demons. After finding how to get the story in details, then these stories must be delivered in the classroom in a specific technique, one of the techniques that can beused in the classroom is story telling. This technique is appropriate because it gives a natural way to deliver the story and the information can be interactively received by tourists. This technique has 5 stages, 1) focusing on finding the story of ogoh-ogoh(item of teaching), 2) focusing on the readiness of the students, 3) giving background knowledge to the students and asking them to read the story with their own expression, 4) focusing on how they students become the tour guide telling the story of ogoh-ogohwith their own expression, and 5) focusing on giving feedbacks in order to give additional knowledge to the students.

Abstract

Price information on the e-toursim website is important, because it can be used as a reference for making travel decisions. However, until now there has been no research on the need for price information and especially on e-tourism. Confirmation of the need for price information on e-tourism will lead to the effect of this functionality on satisfaction and disappointment ofe-tourism users. This study uses the Kano model to determine the functional needs of price information on e-tourism. The result obtained is that the functionality of price information is an important quality that must be possessed by an e-tourism website. The Kano category for all pricing information sub functionalities is “Must”. This means that the sub-functionality of tour package price information, tourist activity price information, entrance ticket price information, and transportation price information on e-tourism are functional attributes that can reduce user satisfaction if they are not displayed properly. However, if the price information has been displayed properly, then it will increase user satisfaction significantly because respondents think that price information on e-tourism should exist and the performance is good

Abstract

The rapid development of Yoga is currently being looked at by several groups as an alternative in the development of spiritual tourism. Despite the many contradictions against Yoga as spiritual tourism, the purpose of incorporating Yoga teachings into learning in tourism schools is not only to provide tourism workers who have the ability to meet market needs but also to develop students' interests and talents towards Yoga. Starting from the explanation above, the focus of this research is to see the benefits of yoga practice for tourism students at SMK Bali Dewata. The aim is to describe the benefits that tourism students get after participating in Yoga practice. This study was designed using a qualitative approach by displaying the management of the results of observations, interviews, and literature in the form of word descriptions.Yoga practice carried out by tourism students at Bali Dewata Vocational School is broadly divided into three stages, namely: the initial stage where students are invited to pray and are given initial information about Yoga practice, then the core activity is carrying out Yoga exercises, and ends with Sawasana, affirmations , question and answer, and prayer. The tangible benefit is that tourism students have Yoga skills that are useful for themselves and those around them. Tourism practitioners, especially tourism service providers, have a strategic position to develop Yoga opportunities as spiritual tourism. A qualified ability for a provider of tourism students can certainly be an added value when entering the world of work, glancing at the growing popularity of Yoga among tourists. The intangible benefits are physical fitness and maturity of mental attitude in dealing with something. This is useful as students who later become service providers in the field of tourism.
