Abstract

Sol-gel method was used to prepare two samples of mesoporous Silica (mSiO2) and zinc oxide- mesoporous silica (ZnO@mSiO2) in the presence of HydroxycetylHydroxy ethyl Diamonium Chloride (dehyquart) surfactant as template. The two adsorbents prepared were characterized by nitrogen adsorption-desorption, XRD and AFM techniques. The results show that the mSiO2 sample has a mesopores in the range 2- 8 nm with a high degree of ordering of the porous structure, while Zn@SiO2 sample has pore distribution in the range 2-50 nm. The adsorption ability of the two adsorbents to removal of Crystal Violet (CV) dye from aqueous systems has been studied using a batch experiments method to measure the adsorption as a function of contact time and adsorbent dose at the temperature 293 K. Adsorption isotherms were fitted with the Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, and Dubinin-Radushkevich models and the results show a best fitted for the two adsorbents, and the adsorption processes were physical adsorption type. The kinetic data were analyzed and found to match well with pseudo-second order kinetic model.Keywords: Mesoporous silica, Crystal Violet, Zn@SiO2, Adsorption isotherm.

Abstract

The binding of twenty Amino Acids to Nicotine, has been studied theoretically by using (DFT) Density Functional Theory of (HF) type, as well as the semi-empirical method (PM3) calculations are carried out by (MOPAC) computational packages, to calculate the molecular orbital's energies and some molecules properties. The studied system was: Cysteine (Cys), Methionine (Met.) and Valine (Val.) with Nicotine. The optimized geometry of the complexes showed interaction  between Nicotine  and  three Amino Acids molecules, Cysteine (Cys), Methionine (Met.) and  Valine (Val.), the binding energies for these interaction were calculated, the binding energies for these interaction varies from -5.188 to -7.223 Kcal.mol-1. Which attributed to the formation of hydrogen bonding   between the studied molecules as it agrees with IR- experimental data .Binding to proteins is an important determinant of the kinetics .Which restricts the unbound concentration and effects the distribution and diminution of it.Key words: Nicotine, Amino Acids, binding, Density Functional Theory (DFT).

Abstract

Recently, functionalization processes onto the outer surface of fullerenes such as C60 and C70 with various groups attracted large interesting from scientists, which including convert sp2 hybridization carbon atoms to sp3 hybridization that aim for enhancing its solubility in an organic polar solvent. This work converts the fullerene C60 successfully to hydroxyl functionalized fullerene which called fullerenol C60.The hydroxyl functionalized fullerene C60 nano-product was characterized using FTIR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, AFM, SEM, TEM, EDX, TGA, and XRD examinations, they proved the fullerenol C60 structure and demonstrated the remarkable change in fullerene C60 topography from un-uniform particles to shape like spherical with high aggregation.Keywords: Fullerene C60, fullerenol, functionalization.

Abstract

The fatty acids in the embryo's liver at ages (7, 11, 14 and 19) days incubation, small chicken aged (14) days after hatching and adult were analyzed, and found (5) fatty acids, the highest concentration of fatty acid in the adult of domesticated chicken and lowest concentration in small chicken age (14) days after hatching. Statistically, there were high significant differences at the probability level (P≤0.001) between all ages together, and the highest concentrations of Oleic acid (C18:1) and Linoleic acid (C18:2) were in embryo age (7) days incubation, while in embryo age (11) days incubation Stearic acid (C18:0) and α-Linolenic acid (C18:3) were higher concentration and Palmitic acid (C16:0) was the highest concentration in the adult. Stearic, Palmitic, Linoleic and α-Linolenic acids were recorded as the lowest concentration as well as in a small chicken age (14) days after hatching. Oleic acid had the lowest concentration in the embryo (19) days incubation, as well as α-Linolenic acid in the embryos age (7, 19) days incubation and the adult chicken did not record any concentration.Key words: Fatty acid, Chicken, Embryo, Liver.

Abstract

A series of bis oxadiazole copolymer were synthesized. The first series was synthesized by the reaction the resorcinol with ethylbromacetate to obtain diethyl 2,2'-[benzene-1,3-diylbis(oxy)]diacetate (1). Compound 1 was converted to their corresponding di hydrazide (2). This compound was reacted with oxalyl chloride in pyridine and N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) to obtained P1. This polymer was converted to P2 by cyclized it in the presence of polypesporic acid (PPA) as dehydrating agent to obtain P2 as bis oxadiazole copolymer. P3-P7 was synthesized by the reaction of compound 2 with five various di carboxylic acid in PPA as depicted in Scheme 1. These copolymers were characterized by IR and 1H-NMR. The electro conductivity of synthesized copolymer were tested at 20, 20000 Hz at 25, 35, 45, 55, 65, 75, 85 and 95 ̊C. Various positive and negative conductivity were recorded in most copolymers at different temperature. Thermal stability was studied for all copolymers. Copolymers 6 and 7 exhibited significant stability at 450 C. The antibacterial activity for these copolymers was tested against gram negative and gram positive bacteria. Copolymer P1, P2, P5, P6 and P7 showed antibacterial activity against all bacteria under test and P5 exhibited highest inhibition zone (23 mm) against Shigella dysentery, while P7 showed same inhibition against Bacillus subtilis. Furthermore, P7 exhibited inhibition zone equal 19 mm against Esherichia Coli.Keyword: Copolymer, Bis oxadiazole, Electro conductivity thermal.

Abstract

A new instrument is presented for determination of Co (II) ion using precipitation reaction NAG-ADF-300 – 2 analyser is used for attenuation of incident light (white snow light emitting diode) at two stages, first one is 110 mm while the second one is 60 mm with a separation distance of 100 mm reaction of Co (II) ion with rubeanic acid in alkaline medium forms a black precipitate. The attenuation of this precipitate to the incident light is measured in a very repeatable, reproducible manner of RSD% less than 1% at variable concentrations. Line or calibration graph extend from 0.02 – 0.1 mmol / L Cobalt (II) ion. 30 sample / hr. can be handled. This instrument is easy to use and have extended ranged of working parameters. 50-500 µL samples can be manipulated using 2- line system. Limit of detection (L.O.D) is 0.5µmol L-1 at 50 µL for cell A and 7 µmol L-1 at 200 µL sample volume for cell B. The method was applied successfully for the determination of Co (II) ion in two different alloys.Key word: Turbidometry, Flow injection analysis, Cobalt (ll) Ion. and snow white light emitting diode.

Abstract

Total of (130) samples of stomach ulcer were collected from patients suffering from peptic ulcer who visited three different hospitals in Baghdad. After testing the sensitivity test against Helicobacter pylori against 10 antibiotics, the sensitivity test for 10   antibiotics demonstrated the efficacy of the antibiotic cephotaxim and rifampicin in the elimination of the bacteria. According to the results of the sensitivity test, one of the isolates of the Helicobacter pylori 4 (HpG 4) was chosen for being resistant to all antibiotics (except amoxicillin). Two isolates of Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus plantarum were selected based on their high inhibitory activity against Helicobacter pylori growth bacteria for subsequent experiments .The minimum inhibitory concentration of Lactic Acid Bacteria concentrated filtrate was performed for three times .The concentrated filtrate showed the efficacy in minimizing and inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria Helicobacter pylori. So the aim of the study was to discover the role of probiotics in   the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection and study of effect of probiotic on reducing Helicobacter pylori stomach ulcer as supporting and safer.  Keywords: Human Stomach Ulcer; Probiotic Extracted; Lactic Acid Bacteria

Abstract

Objectives: The aims of this study were to evaluate dental implant stability and marginal bone level after immediate implant placement with simultaneous grafting of the gap with alloplastic material. Materials and methods: This prospective study included patients who required an extraction of hopeless teeth and subsequent immediate implant placement at a non-molar site, Full thickness mucoperiosteal flap was elevated and the buccal plates were intact in all cases. Following dental implant placement the primary stability was measured with Periotest. The gap was filled with alloplastic grafting material (Easy graft) and wound closure, then a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was taken. 6 months later, a second CBCT was performed and a comparison between them was made for the evaluation of marginal bone level change. Results: Twenty patients with 31 dental implants were enrolled in this study. The difference between base line and 6 months for buccal cortical plate level , palatal/lingual cortical plate level were 0.93 ± 1.15 mm , 0.57 ± 0.94 mm respectively  with a highly significant difference (P=0.007) between buccal and palatal cortical plate. For primary implant stability the mean was 4.98 ± 4.26 PTV, while secondary stability was 1.36 ± 2.96 PTV with a highly significant difference (P=0.001) between primary and secondary stability. Conclusion: Good primary implant stability was achieved even in the presence of gap and the stability was adequate to attain good secondary stability after 6 months. Gaps more than 2 mm were successfully managed with rapid setting Easy graft with promising influence on stability and marginal bone level. Implant length inversely affected PTV. Bone resorptions of the cortical plate occurred more labailly/ buccally than palatally/ lingually and maximum resorption happened in the canine region.

Abstract

Thirty  samples  of  Cyprinus  carpio  were   collected  from Al-Nasiriya fish  ponds  during  the  period  from  March   until  Novmber  2017 . Seventeen  fish  samples  showed  fungal  infection .In this study eight species were identified and the most common were Aspergillus  niger, Saplolegnia sp., Achyla  prolifera, Alternaria  alternate , Penicillium funigulosum, Rhizopus  stolinifer, Aspergillus  fumigatus and  Aspergillus  flavus . Aspergillus Niger and Saplolegnia sp. were the most prevalent fungi infecting all the organs of Cyprinus carpio. Gills  and  abdomen   had  higher  infection  than  rest  of  the  organs .Keywords: Contaminnet, Disease, Environment, Fishes, Fungi, Ponds.

Abstract

A total of (160) clinical specimen of urine collected from patients suffering from urinary tract infections at different ages and from both sex in different hospitals in Baghdad during the period from September 2017 to February 2018.were cultured on selective media MacConkey agar. Bacterial isolates were identified by a microscopic examination and diagnosed by using biochemical tests. A further identification by vitak 2system.The results showed that (103) samples were positive for bacteriological culture (64.6%), the percentage of Proteus spp were (54) urine sample (52.4%) and percentage of Proteus mirabilis isolates were (40) isolates (74%) while Proteus vulgaris were (14) isolates (25.9%) while the results indicated the isolation rate of Proteus mirablis from females was (67%) which was higher than that of males (33%).Selection ten isolates of P. mirabilis which show highest urease activity and adhesion to uroepithelia cell. Aderence capability of the isolates was also tested in accordance to epithelial cells isolated from female urine all isolates were capable of adhering to epithelial cells. The genetic study included an extraction of genomic DNA from (10) p. mirablis, then detection of virulence genes ure C that responsible for urease ,  mrpA for fimbrial and ability to adherence to uroepithelial cell for these isolated by using convential PCR all isolated give positive result. Selection five from ure c and mrp A gene amplicons of P. mirabilis sent to Korea for direct sequencing. The nucleotide sequences of ure c, and mrp A genes were compared with the sequences of the mrp A and  ure c gene using BLAST option of NCBI (Basic Local Alignment Search Tool, BLAST v. 2.2.15, www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov. The result was 100% matching with the registrar globally.
