Abstract

Background a significant number of new effective vaccines against infectious diseases have become available ,some of these vaccines are given in combination as one vaccine , HEXA vaccine is one of these vaccines .the success of vaccination services is dependent not only on vaccines provision but ,also on other factors including parents; knowledge , attitude and also their doubts about the vaccines. Objectives To assess parents' knowledge and attitude about HEXA vaccine newly introduced in expanded program of immunization in Iraq and to identify  its parents' doubts .Methods Across sectional interview based  study of Iraqi parents in six health sectors in Babylon province -Iraq , during the period of the 1st of March to the 1st of July 2016 ,including (92) parents who had  at least one child eligible to be vaccinated with HEXA vaccine (born after 24/11/2015).Parents were interviewed to assess their Knowledge ,Attitude and Doubts about the HEXA vaccine.  Results The study found that (38% ) of parents had good Knowledge,(90.2%)had positive attitude,    (59.8 %) had doubts  about HEXA vaccine.(70.9%) parents had vaccinated their children and they were unsure about the vaccine safety or effectiveness,(29.9 %) parents had delayed their children vaccination ,the main reasons of parents' doubts were Child was ill (44.4%) and(21.8%)don't know enough information about the HEXA vaccine .Conclusions Majority of  parents had moderate (fair) knowledge and excellent positive attitude about HEXA vaccine. Most of parents had doubts about HEXA vaccine. Keywords: Knowledge, Attitude, Doubts parents, Expanded program of immunization.

Abstract

One hundred fifty samples have been collected through the period from July/2016 to December/2016. Were for isolation and identification of pathogenic gram positive bacteria. The samples were involved fifty samples from each skin, mouth and soil for isolate Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes and Bacillus spp., respectively. Isolates were identified according to microscopic features and biochemical tests .Antibiotics susceptibility pattern were examined by disc diffusion method. The antibiotics explained different action modes and some of the have significant differences when comparisons together. The Trimethoprim antibiotic has high activity against Staph. aureus, and Strep. pyogenes while the Carbnicillin, Rifaxim in and Trimethoprim antibiotics have high activity against Bacillus spp.  These antibiotics were Amoxicillin, Ampicillin, Trimethoprim, Aztreonam, Phamethoxazole, Carbnicillin, Novobiocin, Erythromycin, Rifaximin, Penicillin-G, Oxolinic Acid, Bacitracin and Clindamycin. Trimethoprim antibiotic has high activity when comparison the activity of these antibiotics together. Keywords: Pathogenic bacteria, Trimethoprim, Antibiotics, Resistant.

Abstract

Babylon has one of the highest road traffic accident (RTA) related fatality rates in Iraq. Yet, still little is known about the factors contributing to the high number of RTAs .For the first objective, identification of the main human factors that contribute to the occurrence of RTAs in Babylon, the study on human factors conducted by Gründl (2005) was replicated. The results revealed three human factors that significantly increase the risk of causing an RTA in Babylon. These factors are according to the strength of their impact: namely the human (inappropriate speed, fatigue and having a conversation with the passenger), the vehicle and the road environment. Objective this study aimed to identify the main human factors that contribute to the occurrence of RTAs in Babylon and to investigate the human road interaction as a contributing factor to the occurrence of RTAs in Babylon. Keywords: RTAs, Human, Inappropriate speed, Fatigue, Having a conversation with the passenger, the vehicle and the road environment.

Abstract

It has been detected gene expression using the Real – time technique for some Isolations Candida albicans before and during infection to cells epithelium, Ther esults be  high rate of gene expression (37.156 ±7.66049) to T2 treatment  and significantly difference at the level of the probability P ≤ 0.01 ,compared with the C treatment  that at a rate(1.040 ± 0.32229).As the use of an extract of the seeds of Moringa Oleifera In the concentration of 25% to assess its impact on the gene expression (SAP5) before and during infection yeast cells of epithelial and the results were reduced gene expression treatment T1 at a rate(0.074 ± 0.01542) comparison with the treatment C (1.040 ± 0.32229) and teams significantly at the level of the probability P ≤ 0.01, As for the T2 treatment was gene expression at a rate(37.156 ±7.66049) high Compared with T3 treatment in which gene expression dropped at a rate (19.565 ± 8.82162) and with a significant difference at the level of the probability of P ≤ 0.01. Keywords:  Moringa Oleifera, SAP5gene, C.albicans, Candidiasis, Real-time PCR.

Abstract

Thyme has been used for thousands of years for a myriad of indications. This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of thyme leave extracts on some rat organs and hormones such as TSH, T3, T4 and Testosterone after serial period times of injection with different concentrations. 75 Spargue-Dawley albino adult male rats were randomly distributed into five groups of control and treated groups. Each group had 15 rats, group1 for the negative control, group 2 for the positive control, group 3, 4, and 5 were treated with thyme in the concentration of (500, 750and1000) mg/kg of body weight by injection for 10,20, and 30 days subsequently. According to statistical analysis revealed that the level of T3, T4 and testosterone were decreased in treated groups in comparison with control groups and the decreasing value of these hormones were continuing to occur in high concentrations with long period of time injecting with thyme leave extract, While the level of TSH illustrated increment in high concentrations and long periods of time exposing to thyme leaves extract. Keywords: TSH, T3, T4 ,Testosterone, Thymus vulgaris.

Abstract

The purpose of this report to assess the possible protective effects of 20%methanolic extract of flax seeds on cyproterone acetate mediated reproductive dysfunction of adult albino rats. Albino rats (35) place din a random manner into 7 groups, 5 rats in each. The normal control rat was the first group, while the second control group was given corn oil. Third group received cyproterone acetate (CPA) (10 mg/kg) as (positive control). Fourth and fifth groups were treated with 250&500mg/kg of flaxseeds extract respectively. The other protected sixth and seventh groups received CPA (10mg/kg) with flaxseeds extract 250 and 500 mg/kg respectively. All groups treated for 50 days orally by gavages tube. In CPA group, the outcome displayed significant reduction (P≤0.05) in the body weight, sperm parameters and FSH level, a significant raise (P≤0.05) in sperms abnormality and level of testosterone, and non-significant decline (P˃0.05) in reproductive organs and the accessory glands/ body weight ratios and LH level as compared to oil control. Treatment with flaxseeds 250&500 mg/kg caused decrease in the body weight but it considered as significant raise(P≤0.05)in comparison with CPA group, while group treated with flaxseeds extract 250 mg/kg make on-significant changes (P˃0.05) in each of reproductive organs and accessory gland/body weight ratios, LH level record non-significant decrease (P˃0.05) and significant decrease(P≤0.05) in testosterone level as compared to control D.W and CPA group whereas treatment with flaxseeds extract 500 mg/kg recorded significant increase in testes and epididymis/body weight ratio as compared to D.W, corn oil controls, and CPA groups. Furthermore, oral administration of the flaxseeds extract with CPA at two doses 250 & 500 mg/kg with CPA could reduce the negative effect of CPA in the body weight but it could not enhance the most of the sperm parameters and histological changes of both testes and epididymis caused by CPA. In conclusion, CPA (10mg/kg)induce degenerative changes in the reproductive organs of male rats and the 20%methanolic extract of flaxseeds were exhibit similar effect of CPA but at less extent in the male reproductive system. Keywords: Flax seeds (linum usitatissimum L.), Cyproterone Acetate, Reproductive Male system, Albino Rat.
