Abstract

Inclusive elections are the foundation of democracy that prioritizes the participation of all citizens, including indigenous peoples. This paper explores the challenges faced by the Dayak Meratus indigenous people, such as low literacy, limited access to information, geographical barriers, and minimal political representation, which hinder their participation in elections. Using a qualitative descriptive method based on literature studies, this study finds that these obstacles can be overcome through a local wisdom-based approach, strengthening communication infrastructure, and cross-sector collaboration between the government, NGOs, and indigenous communities. This approach not only increases political awareness but also guarantees the voting rights of indigenous peoples, thus creating inclusive and fair elections. This paper highlights the importance of adaptive strategies to ensure democracy is accessible to all elements of society, especially those in remote areas with limited education and information

Abstract

This study discusses the implementation strategy of the Disaster-Safe Education Unit Program (Satuan Pendidikan Aman Bencana/SPAB) in the Bandung area after the M5.0 earthquake that occurred on September 18, 2024. This earthquake caused damage to various educational units in Bandung Regency, Garut Regency, and West Bandung Regency, and highlighted the importance of disaster preparedness in the school environment. This study aims to understand how SPAB is implemented and formulate appropriate strategies to improve the preparedness of educational units in disaster-prone areas. Qualitative analytical methods were used with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results of the study indicate that SPAB requires a strategy that includes increasing school capacity, providing earthquake-resistant infrastructure, collaborating with related institutions, and regular disaster socialization and simulations. Risk analysis using the PESTLE tool and Hazards & Vulnerability Assessment (HVA) was also identified as an important method in risk scanning in educational units. Policy recommendations include increasing the mitigation budget, formulating SPAB standards, and developing inter-sectoral collaboration. This study emphasizes the importance of sustainable SPAB implementation to ensure the safety and sustainability of education in earthquake-prone areas

Abstract

The Muqaddimah by Ibn al-Salah serves as a foundational reference in the study of methodologies and principles within the science of hadith. This work addresses critical aspects related to the authenticity, validity, and methods of understanding hadith. Comprising 65 chapters, the Muqaddimah provides a comprehensive discussion of the disciplines of hadith science and has become an essential resource for scholars in the critique of hadith. This research was conducted to examine the characteristics of hadith classification found in the Muqaddimah of Ibn al-Salah. The research methodology employed in this study is qualitative descriptive, which elaborates on various topics to present a detailed and comprehensive understanding of the book’s content. The author references several works that discuss the Muqaddimah and the methodology employed by Ibn al-Salah in his classification of hadith. This includes consulting the primary source, the latest edition of the Muqaddimah, to validate the opinions of scholars who have analyzed the book. The findings reveal that the Muqaddimah by Ibn al-Salah is distinctive in its presentation. Unlike many subsequent works, it is not structured into chapters or sections, nor does it classify the topics systematically. Such a format was unconventional in many writings produced after the era of Ibn al-Salah.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of investment opportunity set (IOS), capital structure, and firm growth on firm value using a population of 47 banking sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period from 2017 to 2021. The study utilizes purposive sampling method, resulting in a sample of 14 companies for the research. This research falls under the category of descriptive research with a quantitative approach, using secondary data obtained from the financial reports of the companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Hypothesis testing in this research employs the multiple linear regression analysis method, descriptive analysis, factor analysis, classical assumptions, determination coefficient, t-test, and F-test. The results of this research show that partially, capital structure and firm growth have a positive and significant impact, while investment opportunity set has a positive but not significant impact on firm value. With an Adjusted R Square value of 0.571 or 51.1%, this indicates that the contribution of investment opportunity set (IOS), capital structure, and firm growth to firm value is 51.1%, while the remaining 42.9% is explained by other factors.
