Abstract

The main problem in this study is how to improve early reading skills through the use of word cards for group B students at Puri Hasana Kindergarten Perumnas 1 Kranji, West Bekasi. This study aims to determine the increase in the initial reading ability of students in group B at Puri Hasana Kindergarten Perumnas 1 Kranji West Bekasi after using word card media. This type of research is Classroom Action Research which consists of two cycles, each cycle is carried out in two meetings. The research procedure includes planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects in this study were Group B TK Puri Hasana Perumnas 1 Kranji West Bekasi as many as 10 people. The results of this study can be concluded that the reading ability of children in group B TK Puri Hasna Perumnas 1 Kranji West Bekasi can be improved through word card activities. The increase in children's reading ability can be seen from the average reading observation results of pre-action children, which is 41.4%, in the first cycle it reaches 59.1% in the second cycle it reaches 84.3%. So the percentage of 84.3% has reached the achievement target with the Very Good Developing criteria (BSB). Based on the results of the research above, it was concluded that there was an increase in the initial reading ability of group B students at Puri Hasana Kindergarten Perumnas 1 Kranji West Bekasi after using word cards as media.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine and describe the independence of children aged 5-6 years who live with single parents in the presence of father only. This research uses qualitative research methods with the type of case study research. This research was conducted at the residence of a single parent family located in Cipinang Besar Selatan RT002 / RW05 No.39, Jatinegara, East Jakarta. Data collected by observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis uses Campbell's pattern matching model which includes general of statement, sorting the statement and development of the concept map. The results showed that the independence contained in the research subjects were : 1) the ability to help himself in daily life, 2) initiative in doing various things or activities, 3) responsible for what was done and 4) the ability to adapt the environment. This independence is inseparable from the opportunities given by parents to children so that children can do their own activities. The results of this study indicate that children's independence can be built and developed by single parents by providing opportunities to children such as, teaching independence directly to children, habituation, and give advice and direction their daily activities and choosing not to use ART services in caring for children.

Abstract

Self concept formed by what the child perceived to theirself. Every child formed the self concept by theirself to socialized their life. Good self concept will make the child feel proud of theirself and capable to accepted theirself as well. This study aimed 1) to described the self concept of the child age 7-8 years who suffered verbal abuse 2) to knew the form of verbal abuse had done by parents, 3) to explained the impact of verbal abuse. The method used in this study was Case Study with matching pattern of Campbell as data analysist. Data collection in this study used technique observation, interview and documentation. The results of this study showed that the child have good self concept eventhough they got verbal abuse by their parents, the form of verbal abuse had done by parents who giving bad name-calling, threatening, gave the child indirect critism to hurt the child and the impacts of verbal abuse was the child speak with bad words, the child was easily to cry and the child who had done verbal abuse also had done physical abuse.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the behavior of children aged 5-6 years empathy in kindergarten Tunas Mandiri Bogor. The subjects were children kindergarten group B1 Tunas Mandiri Bogor aged 5-6 years as many as 9 people. The method used is action research. Data collection using the instrument, observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that results of the analysis of quantitative data obtained empathy percentage of 66% in the first cycle and 74.2% in the second cycle. These results indicate conformity with the hypothesis that an increase in acts of pre-study to the first cycle and second cycle exceeds 71%, then the hypothesis is accepted. Results of the qualitative analysis based on field notes, interview notes, and also records the documentation to prove that the activities of storytelling can increase the empathy of children aged 5-6 years. Behavioral aspects of empathy that appears after getting action in the form of storytelling activity that is able to accept the other person's perspective, sensitive to the feelings of others and willing to listen to others. Based on quantitative data and qualitative data obtained by researchers that the activities of storytelling can increase the empathy of children aged 5-6 years in kindergarten Tunas Mandiri Bogor.

Abstract

This qualitative research is to find out and describe The Speaking Ability of 3-4 years old in Multiethnic Family, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta. The subject of this research is a child of 3-4 years old who is in a multiethnic family environment. Collecting data by observation, interview, and documentation. In this research using case study method, with Creswell analysis data techniques. The method consists of description and theme findings, interrelating theme, and interpreting the meaning of theme. The research findings that the ability to speak in children aged 3-4 years is seen in (1) the process of acquiring new vocabulary that occurs due to the interaction carried out by children with family and friends in their home environment, (2) the ability of children to use a variety of languages such us language English, Spanish, and Indonesian when speaking, (3) Disclosures sentences spoken by children already look right for obvious reasons, and (4) Factors for the formation of children's speaking abilities, where children are given freedom and proper direction in adapting to the environment her home.
