Abstract

In Indonesia, many local websites, such as Irama Nusantara, hold valuable information related to music and culture. Although rich in data, the utilization of this information is still limited. This research aims to utilize query expansion techniques through data mining methods in analyzing data from the Irama Nusantara website. Data was collected from the Irama Nusantara website through a crawling process, resulting in 5404 entries covering audio, images and text. The analysis was conducted using Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques starting with the preprocessing stage. Next, the K-Means algorithm was applied for clustering, and the Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) method was used for term weighting. Classification models were built using Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Naive Bayes for comparison. The analysis shows that the use of query expansion significantly improves the accuracy of information retrieval on the Irama Nusantara website. The method evaluation showed that SVM gave better results in terms of accuracy and precision compared to Naive Bayes. In addition, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) shows that 70-95% of the variance in the data can be explained by the resulting principal components, which signifies the efficiency of the applied method. This research not only provides a deeper insight into the patterns and trends in the analyzed data, but also contributes to the development of information technology in the field of culture in Indonesia. This research successfully developed an effective analysis model to utilize data from the Irama Nusantara website.

Abstract

Academic information system (SIAKAD) plays an important role in the management of educational data in higher education institutions. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an academic information system integrated with virtual accounts at Medan Aviation Polytechnic, in order to improve efficiency and transparency in financial management. This research uses R&D (Research & Development) method with waterfall software development model. Data was collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Observations were conducted to understand the data processing process, while interviews and questionnaires were used to obtain input from the study program admin and academic admin. The results showed that the integrated academic information system has functioned well. Features such as KRS filling, transcript printing, and payment confirmation can be accessed by various users, including university admins, study program admins, lecturers, and students. Users reported increased efficiency in managing academic and financial data. The implementation of SIAKAD integrated with virtual accounts provides significant benefits in terms of transparency and reduction of human error in data processing. The system facilitates real-time access to information, which is essential for informed decision-making in education management. This study concludes that the implementation of SIAKAD integrated with virtual accounts is effective in improving the efficiency and transparency of academic and financial data management at Politeknik Penerbangan Medan. Recommendations for further development include enhancing system features to support diverse user needs.

Abstract

Airplane accidents still occur frequently, one of which is caused by turbulence. To minimize the risk, an effective forecasting system is needed. This research focuses on developing a web-based dashboard for aircraft turbulence mitigation by considering factors such as convective cloud growth, Richardson number index, and wind shear. The dashboard was developed through four steps: requirement analysis, design, implementation, and verification. The Richardson number index (Ri) is calculated using a formula involving temperature and wind speed at different geopotential heights. Alert status is determined based on Ri values and other parameters, with three alert levels: 'Alert 1', 'Alert 2' and 'Alert 3'. The system provides alerts based on user input. If the cloud cover is less than 50%, the “Alert 1” status is displayed; if Ri < 0.25, the “Alert 2” status appears; and if the wind shear exceeds the threshold, the “Alert 3” status indicates that flights are prohibited. Pilot tests show that the system works well and the Ri calculation results are comparable to existing Richardson calculators. The dashboard allows users to access critical information related to turbulence and flight status in real-time, thereby improving flight safety. Timely alerts help in flight-related decision making. This research successfully developed a web-based dashboard for aircraft turbulence mitigation that works well. By monitoring convective cloud growth, Richardson number index, and wind shear, the system is able to provide relevant alerts to improve flight safety.

Abstract

Safe and standardized infrastructure development is an important factor in supporting economic growth, especially in disaster-prone areas such as Cirebon. This research aims to analyze the structural strength of the BRI branch office building in Kesambi, Cirebon, in accordance with SNI 2847:2019, SNI 1726:2019, and SNI 1727:2020 regulations. This research uses a quantitative approach with ETABS V18.1.1 software to conduct structural analysis. The data used includes primary data from field measurements and secondary data from literature and applicable design standards. The analysis process includes structural modeling, load calculation, and strength evaluation of structural elements such as columns, beams, and slabs. The analysis results show that most of the building's structural elements meet the established strength standards. However, columns K1C, K2, and KT3 did not meet the Strong Column Weak Beam (SCWB) criteria, indicating the need for improvement in the design and strengthening of these elements. These findings indicate the importance of applying comprehensive structural analysis in the planning of banking buildings. The research also provides recommendations for design improvements to enhance the safety and structural durability of the building, and emphasizes the need for compliance with applicable regulations in infrastructure development. This study concludes that the BRI branch office building in Kesambi, Cirebon, is generally safe for use, but there are some elements that require more attention to ensure structural safety.

Abstract

Mini Hydro Power Plants (MHPs) utilize the potential of water to generate electrical energy. However, construction on clay soils that have the potential to expand and contract can affect the stability of the structure. This study aims to evaluate the potential for soil development in the Cileunca MHP. The methods used to determine soil development potential include Chen (1988), Skempton (1953), and Seeds (1962) methods. Mineral identification was conducted through X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) testing of soil samples taken by the handboring method. The results of the analysis showed that the Skempton method showed 67% of the samples had activity values > 0.75 (“high” category). The Chen method indicated 60% of the samples had a plasticity index (PI) > 35% (“very high” category). The Seeds method indicated 73% of the samples had a development potential > 25% (very high category). XRD testing indicated the dominant mineral was dehydrated Halloysite (Al2Si5(OH)4). The soil at the Cileunca MHP site has a high development potential that can damage building foundations. Foundation stability is strongly influenced by expansive soil properties, so soil stabilization treatment is needed to prevent structural damage. This study concludes that the soil at the Cileunca MHP site has a high development potential, which can cause structural problems. Therefore, soil stabilization treatment is highly recommended to ensure the stability of the building foundation
