Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of predatory short selling on the stability of financial institutions on the Indonesia Stock Exchange by focusing on the role of leverage constraints in creating systemic vulnerability. Using panel data from 42 registered banks for the 2018-2023 period, this study applies an agent-based modeling approach combined with empirical analysis to understand the transmission mechanism of short selling to forced liquidation. The results show that financial institutions with a high leverage ratio (>8%) experience an increase in stock price volatility by 23.7% when facing intensive short selling pressure. The simulation model identifies three vulnerability regions: the safety region (leverage <6%), the vulnerability region (leverage 6%-8%), and the doomed region (leverage >8%). Empirical findings confirm that coordination between short sellers expands the doomed region, where liquidation becomes a single equilibrium. Panel regression analysis showed that every 1% increase in the short interest ratio increased the probability of forced liquidation by 0.47% in high-leverage institutions. The implementation of circuit breakers and short selling restrictions has proven effective in reducing manipulative short selling by 31% during the COVID-19 crisis period. This research provides an empirical justification for the temporary restriction of short selling on vulnerable financial institutions and contributes to the development of a more adaptive regulatory framework in emerging markets.

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 5.0 has changed the global business paradigm, especially for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in facing increasingly complex competitive challenges. This research aims to analyze the role of digital marketing in increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs in the era of the Industrial Revolution 5.0. The research method uses a quantitative approach with survey techniques on 385 MSMEs in the Greater Jakarta area that have implemented digital marketing strategies. Data collection was conducted using a structured questionnaire that had been validated with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.892. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS 24.0 software. The results of the study show that digital marketing has a positive and significant effect on the competitiveness of MSMEs with a path coefficient value of 0.784 (p<0.001). The most influential digital marketing indicator was social media marketing (B=0.856), followed by search engine optimization (B=0.743), and content marketing (B=0.692). The competitiveness of MSMEs increased significantly through increased operational efficiency (34.2%), market expansion (41.7%), and product innovation (28.9%). This research makes a theoretical contribution to the development of an integrated digital marketing framework model for MSMEs and practical implications for the development of MSME empowerment policies in the digital era.

Abstract

The transformation of digital accounting is an urgent need for agri-fintech startups in developing countries. The complexity of agricultural transactions, the demands of compliance with IFRS/XBRL standards, and the increasing cyber risks demand an accounting system that is not only efficient but also transparent and auditable. This research aims to identify the factors influencing the adoption of digital accounting, evaluate its impact on information quality and regulatory compliance, and design a conceptual model that is able to integrate technological, organizational, regulatory, and risk aspects in the context of agri-fintech startups. The research uses a mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data was collected through a survey of 45 agri-fintech startups in Southeast Asia and analyzed using PLS-SEM. Qualitative data was obtained through in-depth interviews with 7 selected startups and analyzed by thematic analysis. The results show that internal factors, such as technology readiness, organizational support, and perceived benefits and ease of use, play a significant role in adoption. The adoption of digital accounting improves the reporting quality and readiness of XBRL, but cyber and operational risks negatively affect the accuracy of reports. This research resulted in an Agri-Fintech Digital Accounting Capability (AF-DAC) model that integrates cloud accounting, blockchain ledger, RegTech–XBRL, and cyber risk panels. These findings provide a theoretical contribution to the digital accounting literature and are practical for startups, regulators, and investors in designing adaptive, secure, and sustainable accounting transformation strategies in the agri-fintech sector.

Abstract

Global food security faces serious challenges due to climate change, market volatility, and limited access to nutritious food. Agricultural technology innovation (AgriTech) is seen as one of the solutions to increase productivity and efficiency, but its implementation among smallholders still faces various obstacles, especially related to costs, digital literacy, and limited infrastructure. This research aims to evaluate the balance between agronomic efficiency and social inclusion in the implementation of AgriTech, identify effective mentoring models, and formulate policy recommendations oriented towards equity in access. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design on smallholders in rural Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 25 participants, field observations, and simple questionnaires of 50 respondents, then analyzed with Miles and Huberman's interactive model combined with quantitative descriptive analysis. The results show that AgriTech is able to increase productivity by an average of 12% per planting season and reduce input costs, but there are still significant obstacles in the form of application costs, limited internet networks, and low digital literacy. The findings also show that blended extension approaches (a combination of face-to-face and digital counseling) and collective institutional strengthening have proven effective in expanding adoption. This research confirms that sustainable food security can only be achieved through a balance between technological disruption and smallholder inclusion. Policy implications include subsidies for application access, integration of fintech services with digital advisory, and digital literacy programs to strengthen the capacity of farmers to utilize technological innovations.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the agricultural sector has opened up new opportunities for agripreneurs to improve business efficiency and competitiveness in the global market. Digital accounting is present as an important instrument, not only in recording transactions, but also in building transparency, access to financing, and strengthening sustainable business models. However, the adoption of this technology still faces challenges in the form of low digital literacy, implementation costs, and human resource resistance. This study aims to map the driving factors and obstacles to the adoption of digital accounting in agricultural SMEs, examine the role of the integration of Farm Financial Accounts (FFA) and Farm Management Information Systems (FMIS), and formulate a framework for redefining agripreneurship business models towards sustainability. The research uses a qualitative approach with exploratory case studies on agricultural SMEs in West Java. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, field observations, and digital financial statement documentation, then analyzed by thematic analysis and triangulation techniques. The findings show that the use of digital accounting increases the speed of financial reporting, strengthens credibility in the eyes of financial institutions, and facilitates the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) indicators in business practices. The adoption of digital accounting has also been proven to expand access to financing through banks and fintech, as well as encourage data-driven business model innovation. This research confirms that digital accounting is a strategic catalyst in redefining sustainable agripreneurship business models. The results of the research can be a reference for business actors, technology providers, and policymakers to strengthen digital literacy, provide technology incentives, and integrate ESG principles in agricultural policies.
