Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Job Insecurity and Job Satisfaction on Turnover Intention among employees at PT Pelayaran Baharimas Kalimantan. A quantitative associative approach was used in this research, with a sample of 87 respondents selected through total sampling technique. The instrument testing involved validity and reliability tests, while the classical assumption tests included normality, linearity, and multicollinearity tests. Hypothesis testing was conducted using multiple linear regression, correlation coefficient (R), coefficient of determination (R²), simultaneous tests, and partial tests. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis yielded the equation Y = 1.918 + 0.467 X₁ + 0.121 X₂. The correlation coefficient of 0.517 indicates a moderate correlation between Job Insecurity and Job Satisfaction with Turnover Intention. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.267 indicates that 26.7% of the variability in Turnover Intention is influenced by the two variables, while the remaining 73.3% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. The simultaneous test showed an F value of 15.299, which is greater than the F table value of 3.10, indicating a significant simultaneous effect of Job Insecurity and Job Satisfaction on Turnover Intention. The partial tests revealed that Job Insecurity (p-value = 0.000) and Job Satisfaction (p-value = 0.044) both significantly influence Turnover Intention, with p-values less than 0.05 for both variables. This study provides empirical evidence that both Job Insecurity and Job Satisfaction significantly affect Turnover Intention, which can be considered by management in managing human resources within the company.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture and workplace happiness on the organizational commitment of civil servants at the Gang Sehat Community Health Center in Pontianak. The approach used is quantitative with an associative research design and saturated sampling technique, involving 38 respondents. Data were collected through interviews with the Head of Administration and questionnaires distributed to all civil servants at the UPT Puskesmas Gang Sehat. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, multiple correlation coefficient (R), coefficient of determination (R²), simultaneous test (F), and partial test (t). The results of the analysis indicate that both independent variables, organizational culture and workplace happiness, have an influence on organizational commitment. Overall, the results of the multiple linear regression test showed a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.341, meaning that 34.1% of the variability in organizational commitment can be explained by organizational culture and workplace happiness, while 65.9% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Partially, organizational culture was proven to have a significant influence on organizational commitment, while workplace happiness did not have a significant influence. This study suggests that organizations should focus more on developing an organizational culture that supports employee satisfaction, which in turn can increase their commitment and performance. Recommendations for further research: Further research is expected to examine other factors influencing organizational commitment, such as leadership, work motivation, or the physical work environment. Additionally, the study could expand the sample by involving more institutions or sectors to gain broader insights into the influence of organizational culture and workplace happiness on employee commitment under various conditions.

Abstract

The city of Banda Aceh has experienced significant development in building infrastructure, particularly in the proliferation of coffee shops. Many open spaces have been repurposed into coffee shops, and this transformation has also brought significant changes to the function and form of the traditional Acehnese house, Acehnese House (Rumoeh Aceh), which is now being repurposed into commercial spaces such as coffee shops. This transformation affects both the function and meaning of the buildings in response to evolving needs.  This study aims to examine characteristics of traditional Acehnese architecture as applied to coffee shops in Banda Aceh. The analysis is based on Hadjad’s theoretical framework, which assesses the characteristics of traditional Acehnese architecture through 12 elements: stilted structure, roof, columns, walls, space, under floor space, openings, ornaments, orientation, house height, color, and materials. The results of the study show that these coffee shops have retained core elements of Rumoh Aceh, such as the stilted house form, wooden materials, and traditional ornaments, despite undergoing design and functional adaptations for commercial purposes. This study highlights that the application of traditional architecture in public spaces can serve as a medium for cultural education while strengthening local identity amidst the wave of modernization.

Abstract

This research discusses how the activities and distribution patterns of street vendors (PKL) influence public space in the GOR Haji Agus Salim Stadium area, Padang City, West Sumatra. The increasing number of street vendors in this area has raised spatial planning issues, limited accessibility, and disrupted the original function of the stadium as a sports facility. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through field observations, interviews, and documentation. The results show that PKL activities are strongly influenced by their proximity to formal sector activities and pedestrian flow. Their distribution patterns are classified into two types: clustered (focus agglomeration) and linear, following road networks (linear agglomeration). Factors influencing these patterns include strategic location, accessibility, types of goods sold, and the facilities used for vending. The study reveals that the presence of street vendors significantly affects the quality of public space visually, functionally, and in terms of comfort. Therefore, a comprehensive management strategy is needed that balances the economic needs of PKL with the order and proper use of urban space.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze public sentiment towards rapper Azealia Banks' controversial statement calling Indonesia the "world's trash can" via her social media account X (@azealiaslacewig). This issue has caused various reactions from Indonesian people, especially social media users, which are reflected through comments, retweets, and replies that are spread massively. Using a sentiment analysis method based on qualitative and quantitative approaches, 500 tweets were collected and classified into three main categories: positive, negative, and neutral. The results showed that the majority of public responses were negative (72.4%), followed by neutral sentiment (19.2%) and positive (8.4%). Further analysis revealed that the high negative response was driven by a strong sense of digital nationalism and perceptions of insults to national identity. On the other hand, a small number of users showed positive or neutral responses by making the statement a reflection of environmental conditions and national waste management. These findings indicate that social media is an important arena for expressing collective emotions and attitudes towards global issues concerning national identity

Abstract

This article analyzes the content of AI meme images, showing how these images construct patterns of thinking through AI meme images. The unit of analysis in this article is the AI meme Tung Tung Sahur, one of many memes featuring a humanoid monster made of wood that resembles a kentongan (traditional Indonesian percussion instrument) that can move and talk. This character is associated with the tradition of waking people up for sahur during Ramadan. Using John Fiske's semiotics, three levels have been identified: at the level of reality, this meme aims to create a comedic and nostalgic effect. However, at the level of representation, it is found to be a signifier indicating the absurdity of thought patterns that can impact younger generations, particularly Generation Alpha, and there is a violation of visual codes that do not align with the sahur tradition during Ramadan. Furthermore, at the ideological level, this meme creates a sense of community among audiences who share similar memories of the sahur tradition. However, it also serves as a small alarm bell indicating a larger underlying issue that significantly influences societal thought patterns and manipulates audiences into consuming the ideology behind the meme.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of Job Involvement and Career Development on Work Motivation among civil servants at the Cooperative, Small and Medium Enterprises Department of West Kalimantan Province. Using an associative research approach, primary data was collected through interviews and questionnaires distributed to 51 civil servants working in this department. The findings reveal that both Job Involvement and Career Development have a positive and significant impact on Work Motivation. The F-test results show that Job Involvement and Career Development simultaneously have a significant effect on Work Motivation (F = 26.465, p 0.05). Additionally, the t-test results confirm that both variables significantly influence Work Motivation on a partial basis: Job Involvement (t = 4.097, p 0.05) and Career Development (t = 2.179, p 0.05). These findings indicate that increasing employee involvement in their work and providing clear career development opportunities are crucial strategies for enhancing motivation, reducing absenteeism, and driving higher performance. The study also suggests that when employees perceive clear and meaningful career prospects within their organization, they are more likely to be motivated, engaged, and committed to their roles. These insights offer valuable guidance for human resource management, especially within public sector institutions, and emphasize the importance of creating a work environment that fosters growth, motivation, and long-term employee satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Job Involvement and Organizational Commitment on Job Satisfaction of Civil Servants at the UPTD Public Health Center of Sungai Ambawang. The method used is an associative approach with primary data collected through interviews and questionnaires distributed to 49 civil servants at the UPTD Public Health Center of Sungai Ambawang. Secondary data was used to support the analysis. The results of the study indicate that Job Involvement and Organizational Commitment have a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction. Based on the multiple linear regression results, it was found that Job Involvement (b1 = 0.360) and Organizational Commitment (b2 = 0.262) positively affect Job Satisfaction, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.596, which indicates that 59.6% of the variation in Job Satisfaction can be explained by the two independent variables. The simultaneous test (F-test) shows that both variables significantly influence Job Satisfaction. In addition, the partial test (t-test) shows that both variables individually have a significant effect on Job Satisfaction. This study suggests that the leadership at the UPTD Public Health Center of Sungai Ambawang should strengthen organizational commitment and job involvement to improve job satisfaction and the quality of services provided to the community. For future research, it is recommended to consider additional variables, such as work-life balance or organizational culture, and explore longitudinal studies to better understand the long-term impact of Job Involvement and Organizational Commitment on Job Satisfaction and employee retention.

Abstract

The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in mathematics learning at the high school (SMA) level is now an important innovation in the world of education. AI brings a number of benefits such as the ability to personalize the learning process, increase efficiency, and provide broad and fast access to learning materials. However, its utilization is inseparable from various challenges. This study aims to identify and analyze the problems of the use of AI in high school mathematics learning systematically through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with the PRISMA approach to 15 selected scientific articles. The results of the study show that the use of AI raises problems at various levels, especially in students who experience a decrease in critical thinking skills, creativity, and learning independence due to dependence on technology and an increasing tendency to plagiarism and procrastination. Meanwhile, from the side of teachers and educational institutions, obstacles were found in the form of low digital skills, limited training, lack of infrastructure, and the absence of a curriculum that accommodates the use of AI to the maximum. Although AI is well received by students, its use in schools is still very limited, reflecting a gap between potential and implementation. In addition, ethical aspects, data privacy, and changes in the role of teachers are important concerns. Therefore, collaboration across teachers, educational institutions, policy makers, and parents is needed to ensure the use of AI that is wise, ethical, and able to support the development of students' character and thinking abilities optimally.
