Abstract

There have been studies exploring the implementation of student exchange of MBKM program. However empirical study which investigates Shared Voice of student exchange alumni of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program is uncommon. This study relies on semi-structured interview data from 6 English Education students who participated in student exchange program batch II and III of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program held by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. This study aims to explore student exchange alumni’s suggestion for English education department improvement. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis adapted from (Braun & Clarke, 2006) which consists of 6 steps. As a result of studying at other Indonesian universities, they highly recommend story-telling, TOEFL, and microteaching courses to be compulsory courses in English Education Department of STKIP Yapis Dompu. Other main finding in this research is that Lecturers should be more assertive in providing teaching treatment to students to promote students discipline and motivation in doing assignments. The last finding is that lecturers of English Education Department of STKIP Yapis Dompu are highly recommended to adapt game-based learning using technology to gain effective, fun, and interactive learning

Abstract

This study basically aimed to explore students’ grammatical errors in writing descriptive paragraph using surface strategy taxonomy. The participants of this qualitative research were first year students of English education department of STKIP Yapis Dompu who took basic writing class in academic year 2023/2024. The researcher analyzed 12 students’ descriptive writings about “Guide Dog” written to meet assignment of “Basic Writing” course. The data of this research then analyzed in the form of percentage. The findings of this research revealed that the most common grammatical errors committed by the students in their descriptive writing were on misformation having number of 34 or 45% of the total numbers of errors that ranked first. This was followed by addition with 22 or 28% that ranked second, misordering with 12 or 16% that ranked third, and omission with 8 or 11% that ranked fourth. Another very important finding was that the most common grammatical errors based on sub category errors were on the usage of verb with 60 or 80% of the total 76. It indicated that almost all students do not really understand the usage of verb in present tense. They often made structurally incorrect sentences. This issue must be given a special attention by all lecturers of English education department of STKIP Yapis Dompu to find solution students' competence to construct correct English sentences will definitely reflect on almost all other English courses such as, academic writing, reading for academic, TOEFL, grammar for TOEFL, listening, and many more courses

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran kepala sekolah sebagai manajer sekolah dalam meningkatkan layanan administrasi tata usaha di SMK Negeri 1 Doloksanggul.Bentuk penelitian ini adalah kualitatatif menggunakan metode mengumpulkan data dari informan melalui wawancara, obsevasi, dan dokumentasi. Dalam Penelitian ini landasan teori yang digunakan adalah peran kepala sekolah sebagai manajer untuk meningkatkan layanan tata usaha. Teori yang digunakan oleh Supatmi dan Masluyah Suib (a) kepala sekolah sebagai manajer merencanakan (planning) yaitu menyusun program kerja tata usaha (b) kepala sekolah sebagai manajer melakukan pengorganisasian (Organizing) pembagian tugas, Menurut Harianto (c) Kepala sekolah sebagai manajer dalam pengawasan (controling) kunjungan langsung keruangan tata usaha (d) kepala sekola sebagai manajer dalam evaluasi (evaluating) menilai hasil kerja staf tata usaha. Hasil dari penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa peran kepala sekolah sebagai manajer dalam meningkatkan layanan administrasi tata usaha di SMK Negeri 1 Doloksanggul sudah maksimal. Kata Kunci: Kepala Sekolah, Manajer, Staf Tatata usaha ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to determine the role of the principal as a school manager in improving administrative services at SMK Negeri 1 Doloksanggul. The form of this research is qualitative using methods of collecting data from informants through interviews, observation and documentation. In this research, the theoretical basis used is the role of the school principal as a manager to improve administrative services. The theory used by Supatmi and Masluyah Suib (a). the principal as a manager plans (planning), namely preparing administrative work programs (b). the principal as a manager organizes (Organizing) the division of tasks (c). The principal as a manager in the theory used by Harianto (controlling) ) direct visit to the administration room (d). the principal as manager in evaluating (evaluating) assessing the work results of the administration staff. The results of the research show that the role of the principal as a manager in improving administrative services at SMK Negeri 1 Doloksanggul has been maximized.
