Climate change is an important issue that must be addressed collectively. In order to overcome the problem of climate change that is occurring, every small group in society has an effort to deal with climate change through ProKlim activities. The aim of this research is to describe the implementation and role of ecosufism in preserving the environment through ProKlim in Kudus Regency. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods through observation, interviews and literature studies carried out directly during the research process. Findings from research related to ProKlim activities can be expressed in terms of ecosufism through the concept of eco-sufism using the hierarchy of takhalli, tahalli, and tajalli as methods used to preserve nature. Abstract

The Spirit of religious moderation has been embodied in Indonesian society for a long time, and Sufis played a significant role in disseminating religious moderation or wasaṭiyya. However, wasaṭiyya only acquired serious attention from the Indonesian government in 2016. It marked the beginning of wasaṭiyya as the national project. Thus, this study aims to analyze the wasaṭiyya thoughts of a Sufi figure who emerged to prominence after 2016. The focus of this study is examining the notion of Syekh Akbar Fathurahman, the current murshid of Tariqa Idrisiyyah who actively engages in social media to spread and propagate his teaching. This study is qualitative research and employs the critical theory paradigm by Jurgen Habermas. The primary source is a YouTube video that presented Syekh Fathurahman’s lecture on religious moderation. The findings indicate that there was ideological indoctrination that led to distorting the discourse of religious moderation by reducing its concept. Syekh Fahurahman tended to direct its discourse to the Sufism aspect to support the interest of tariqa. In addition, he narrowed its wide concept by linking it to certain groups that meet several criteria. It causes the elimination of many parties that do not align with the proposed parameter. By doing so, Syekh Fathurahman aimed to establish the hegemony. Nevertheless, apart from the distortion, Syekh Fathurahman also presented the ideal meaning of religious moderation, showing that he is not an extreme Sufi. Additionally, this study also finds that there is a paradox and ambiguity in the connection between fiqh, taṣawwuf, and moderation.

Abstract

Student indiscipline behavior is a challenge in the world of education that can affect the effectiveness of learning. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of student mentoring using muhasabah therapy in reducing indisciplinary behavior. The research method used was a quasi-experimental with a one group pretest-posttest design. The participants of this study were 28 students with indisciplinary behavior from class IX B at MTs Miftahul Huda Sarang Rembang. The intervention was carried out four times for one month using muhasabah therapy to increase students' awareness and self-reflection. The results showed a decrease in indisciplinary behavior after the implementation of muhasabah therapy (p <0.05). The average pretest score of 5.25 decreased to 3.21 in the posttest value, indicating the effectiveness of muhasbah therapy. These findings confirm that muhasabah therapy can be an alternative method in supporting character education and improving student discipline. Therefore, this approach can be recommended for application in guidance and counseling programs in schools to improve discipline.

Abstract

The ongoing environmental degradation indicates a shift in humanity’s religious paradigm. While religion teaches the importance of preserving and nurturing nature, in practice, humans often exploit and damage the environment. This study aims to examine the eco-Sufist thought of Abdul Karim al-Jilli, particularly through his concept of Insan Kamil (the Perfect Human), and explore its relevance to the Islamic ecotheological movement in Indonesia. This qualitative research employs a library research method, utilizing various sources such as books, journals, and scholarly articles. The findings reveal that al-Jilli’s eco-Sufism perceives humans as the highest manifestation of divine self-disclosure (tajalli Ilahi), bearing both spiritual and moral responsibilities toward the universe. The concept of Insan Kamil embodies ecological consciousness through principles such as balance, responsibility, and love for all creation. In the Indonesian context, this aligns with the spirit of Islamic ecotheology, which promotes ecological piety grounded in religious doctrine. To reach the level of Insan Kamil, individuals must undergo spiritual transformation through the stages of takhalli, tahalli, and tajalli. Thus, al-Jilli’s thought provides a theological foundation for developing an integrated environmental ethic that connects God, humans, and nature.

Abstract

This research aims to prove the effect of reading the Koran on reducing anxiety during aging, especially in elderly students at the An-Nur Islamic Boarding School, Kediri City. The research used pretest and posttest methods to measure anxiety levels before and after the Al-Qur'an reading intervention (sorogan). The results showed that of the ten subjects, seven subjects experienced a decrease in anxiety after following the Al-Qur'an sorogan. Meanwhile, three subjects did not experience a significant decline due to several factors, such as health problems with memory, high emotions, and slight mental disorders. These factors contribute to anxiety triggers, namely physical weakness and poor social relationships. This positive change is believed to be influenced by the process of reading the Al-Qur'an regularly. This research concludes that reading the Koran can be an effective intervention to reduce anxiety in the elderly, especially in the context of the Islamic boarding school environment.
