Abstract

Acute respiratory tract infection (ARI) is a disease that is often found and is transmitted from the upper or lower respiratory tract which can cause a spectrum of diseases ranging from mild infections to severe and fatal diseases, depending on the causative pathogen and environmental factors. This study aims to determine the description of drug use in patients with Acute Respiratory Tract Infections (ARI) based on the Patient Visit Book at the UPT. Narumonda Health Center Period January-April 2023 based on drug class and type of drug. This study is a descriptive study with a retrospective approach conducted in June 2023, in the patient visit book there were 60 patients with ARI from January to April 2023. Based on the age range where the age of >61 years and above the most suffer from ARI, namely 20 cases (33%) and at the age of 1-10 years as many as 18 cases (30%). Based on the drug class in the classification of the most widely used drugs, namely the vitamin group where there were 44 cases (73.33%). Based on the type of drug most widely used, namely Paracetamol where there were 35 cases (17.32%). Suggestion: For further research, it is hoped that ongoing research can be carried out with the category of evaluating the use of ARI drugs so that researchers can directly observe the patient's condition.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of psychosocial support on the quality of life (QoL) of patients with chronic illnesses. Recognizing that chronic diseases can significantly impair both physical and emotional well-being, this study aims to elucidate the multifaceted roles that family, healthcare providers, and community networks play in enhancing QoL among affected individuals. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from a diverse sample of chronic illness patients through surveys and interviews, focusing on the impact of different types of psychosocial support on various QoL domains: physical, psychological, social, and environmental. The findings reveal a strong positive correlation between psychosocial support and QoL, with family support being particularly effective in improving psychological and social well-being, while healthcare provider support significantly impacts physical health outcomes. Community support was also found to enhance social connections and emotional resilience, underscoring the importance of a holistic approach to chronic illness management. Despite challenges such as subjective variations in QoL measures and diverse support needs across different chronic conditions, the results advocate for the integration of comprehensive support programs within healthcare systems. This study contributes to the existing literature by providing a nuanced understanding of how various forms of psychosocial support uniquely influence QoL in chronic illness patients. The implications for healthcare practices and policies emphasize the need for tailored interventions that address the diverse and evolving needs of patients, ultimately fostering resilience and promoting better health outcomes.

Abstract

This research investigates the effect of implementing nonpharmacological interventions on post-Caesarean pain management, aiming to enhance recovery outcomes for mothers. Recognizing the limitations of conventional pharmacological approaches, this study explores various nonpharmacological strategies, including music therapy, massage, and relaxation techniques, and their impact on pain levels and emotional well-being in postpartum patients. A randomized controlled trial was conducted with a sample of postpartum women who underwent Cesarean sections, comparing those who received standard care with those who participated in nonpharmacological interventions. Results indicated a significant reduction in pain levels and improved emotional satisfaction among participants who engaged in these interventions. The findings align with previous research highlighting the effectiveness of nonpharmacological approaches in managing postoperative pain, while also identifying gaps in the literature regarding standardization and cultural influences on intervention effectiveness. This study underscores the importance of integrating nonpharmacological strategies into clinical practice, advocating for a more holistic approach to pain management that prioritizes patient comfort and satisfaction. Further research is recommended to explore the optimal combinations of interventions and their applicability across diverse patient populations.
