Abstract

Many of the environmental pollution caused by the use of chemical pesticides. According to WHO, the pesticides used in the world as much as 3.5 million tons per year with the kind of high toxicity from developing countries such as Indonesia. The number of registered pesticides formula in Indonesia keeps increasing from year 1996 as much as 520 formula until 2015 as much 3,459 formula (Perveen,2011). The impact of pesticide contamination can be seen by measuring levels of the enzyme cholinesterase in the blood farmers. The purpose of the study to gauge the level of toxicity from pesticide usage by farmers by measuring levels of cholinesterase in the blood farmers and long usage of pesticides used by farmers. The benefits of this research to be able to provide information for farmers from the impact of the use of pesticides which do not use APD. This type of research is a descriptive experimental. This research was conducted on farmers in the area of Solok of West Sumatra with a simple random method of as many as 10 people. Data collection with the interview questionnaire and the wear measurement of levels of Cholinesterase in blood Cholinesterase Test Kit Livibond with AF267. The results showed that of the 10 samples examined 50% experiencing mild poisoning with levels of 62.5% Cholinesterase with a working period of 20 to 30 years, while the remaining >75% Cholinesterase levels are normal (default values are categorized decrease in AChE in Indonesia) and 10-15 year working period. Acute severe pesticide poisoning causes sufferers tounconscious, seizures, even death. chronic toxicity is more difficult to detect because it is not immediately felt, but in the long run can cause health problems.

Abstract

Malaria is an infectious disease caused by plasmodium parasites that live and multiply in human red blood cells, transmitted by female mosquitoes (anopheles). The disease is strongly influenced by environmental conditions that allow mosquitoes to multiply and potentially make contact with humans and transmit malaria parasites. Based on data obtained from Sipayung District Health Center Rengat in 2015 the number of malaria incidence amounted to 76 cases. The purpose of this research is general to know the relationship of physical environment with the incidence of malaria. In particular to know the existence of standing water, the existence of shrubs, and the existence of cattle stables with the incidence of malaria. The research used is quantitative analytic observational method with cross sectional study design. The number of samples in this study is 99 respondents. Sampling using quota sampling technique. Sampling method is done by interview and observation method. The results showed that there was a correlation between the presence of standing water P value = 0,04, POR 95% Cl = 3,718 (1,579- 8,752), and the presence of shrubs with P value = 0,01, POR 95% Cl = 4,613 (1,960- 10,853) Desa Sekip Hilir. It is expected that health officers to increase more prevention efforts through counseling especially about malaria and uga to the community in Sekip Hilir Village to be more concerned about environmental hygiene so that the incidence of malaria incidence can be minimized.

Abstract

Safety driving is a good and safe driving behavior to avoid traffic problems. Such as personal safety and also the other road users. An indicipline person when driving can cause accident. Of many accidents that occured in Indonesia, most of (90.3%) was caused by human error factor. Preliminary results of a study on a driver of a dump truck PT Hutama Karya there were accident between two dump trucks there for two glass of dump trucks broke at the time of operations. The purpose of this research is to know the factors related to the behavior of the driving safety (safety driving). The type of this research is quantitative research with the analytic method uses the approach of cross sectional. The research was carried out during 1 (one) month of PT Hutama Karya. Infrastructure Section 1 with a population of 31 respondents were sampled. Research on measuring instrument is the questionnaire. The data was analyzed with univariate and bivariate by using chi square test. The results showed a relationship category of work experience (P value = 1.000 pronounced > 0.05), educational level (P value = 0.685 pronounced > 0.05), training (P value = 0, 458 pronounced > 0.05) road conditions (P value = 0.000 < pronounced 0.05) and weather conditions (P value = . 001< pronounced 0.05). The conclusion from this study is there is no relationship between the behavior of the safety driving with work experience, level of education, Training and Safety driving, while the road conditions and weather conditions there is a relationship. Then it is recommended to be carried out training of driving safety and SWA on drivers thoroughly.

Abstract

Various activities in coastal areas have negative impacts on the ecological stability of the waters. The result of human anthropogenic activities around the water causes changes and degradation of the aquatic environment. The population development in the Tanjungpinang City area continues to increase and is starting to spread to the coastal area, one of which is the Madong coastal area. The Madong area is used for various kinds of coastal activities, including catching biota, transportation areas, fish ponds or cages for consumption, and residential areas. Thus, this area is prone to water pollution and a decrease in water conditions. For this reason, a recent study is needed related to the condition of water pollution which is described using the Water Pollutant Index. The results of the study show that the parameters of temperature, turbidity, DO, BOD, and pH are parameters that are still in accordance with the quality standard threshold in the Minister of Environment Decree No. 51 (2004). Meanwhile, the TSS value exceeds the water quality standard value, while the salinity is below the quality standard range because the location of Madong waters has a low salinity level. This condition is due to the fact that the waters of Madong are still influenced by freshwater rivers. Overall, the pollutant index value or the Pollutan index for Madong waters of 1.87 is classified as lightly polluted. however, an increase in activity in the future can worsen water conditions and have the potential to increase their pollutant value.

Abstract

In Government Regulation No. 81 of 2012 (regarding solid waste management), waste originating from daily activities in households that do not include feces and specific waste. Solid waste management is a systematic, comprehensive and sustainable activity that includes the reduction and handling of waste. The purpose of this study is to know the process of sorting, collecting, transporting, waste volume, financing, facilities, regulations and management. The method used is qualitative by conducting direct observations to the field and in-depth interviews to gain information about the solid waste management system from sorting, collecting and transporting waste in the Traditional Market of Kiab Jaya Village. The research subjects consisted of one market manager, two cleaners, two market traders and one buyer / community at the Kiab Jaya Traditional Market. The results of the study state that solid waste management in the Traditional Market of Kiab Jaya Village has not done good solid waste management, the sorting of wet waste is still stacked and scattered. The solid waste collection system on the market is done one to two times a week by janitors. There is no transportation of solid waste in the Traditional Market of Kiab Jaya Village, all dry solid waste is immediately burned and the wet one is left to stack until it is dry.
