Abstract

Most maternity mothers feel pain during labor; the causes of pain in Indonesia is 16% because they experience complications, and 63% because they did not get information on childbirth preparation. Pain arises due to increased activity of the sympathetic nervous system and results in blood pressure and pulse. A midwife cannot provide analgetic in reducing pain, so complementary treatments are very helpful, one of which is endorphins massage. Massage therapy can systematically affect the skin surface, soft tissues, muscles, and ligaments. It can release of endorphin hormone that can cause muscle relaxation. This study aims to determine endorphin massage's effect on pain intensity in the first stage of active labor at Public Health Center Mampang Prapatan District, South Jakarta. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest type of control group. This type involved two groups of subjects, one was treated (experimental group) with 15 samples, and the other was not treated (control group) with 15 samples. The total sample is 30 respondents. The research instrument used an observation sheet to measure pain intensity using the FLACC scale (Face, Legs, Activity, Cry, Consolability). Data analysis used the Wilcoxon signed rank test and the Mann-Whitney test. Based on the results of the Mann-Whitney test, it shows that the Assign value sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000. This means that 0,000 < 0,05, there is a significant difference between the pain intensity of the experimental group that was given endorphin massage and the control group that was not treated. There is a difference between the pain intensity in the first stage of active labor at Public Health Center Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta. It is recommended that services apply non-pharmacological pain control methods of endorphin massage in labor.

Abstract

Students as academic individuals cannot be separated from stress in everyday life. Academic activities, especially assignments and external demands on oneself, can create stress among female students. Perceived stress can cause the pituitary to release ACTH (Adrenocorticotropic Hormone), increasing cortisol levels and disrupting the menstrual cycle. This study aims to determine the relationship between stress and the menstrual cycle in female students at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Nasional. The method used is quantitative with an analytical design and uses a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique used random sampling. The sample in this study was 150 respondents. The PSS-10 questionnaire and menstrual cycle questionnaire were used to collect data. Out of the 150 respondents, there were 7 respondents (4.7%), female students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Nasional, who experienced everyday stress and 45 respondents (30%) experienced mild stress, and 97 respondents experienced moderate stress (64.7%), 1 respondent (0.7%) experienced severe stress, and out of 150 respondents there were 114 respondents (76%), female students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Nasional experienced normal menstruation and 36 respondents (24%) experienced abnormal menstruation. There is no significant relationship between stress levels and menstruation in female students at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas National, with p=0.811. Researchers suggest that female students who experience stress and menstrual disorders can relax by doing Yoga.

Abstract

Post-stroke patients often have sequelae that are difficult to avoid. One of the impacts that can occur after a stroke is the onset of cognitive impairment, physical disability, and even death due to the extent of brain damage that occurs. Another impact of stroke is Fatigue Post Stroke (FPS), where most stroke patients experience fatigue, and this condition can persist even though other symptoms caused by stroke have improved. This literature review aims to determine the appropriate management of fatigue after a stroke. The method in this study is a literature review by collecting published literature from databases such as ResearchGate, Google Scholar, and PLOS using Boolean stroke management and post-stroke fatigue. The literature search focused on articles related to fatigue in stroke patients. Both used RCT (Randomized Control Trial) design, Quasi Experiment, Qualitative study, and Survey study from the year (2015-2022).  Based on the results of data extraction from the author, two themes can be taken by the author, post-stroke patients who experience fatigue and fatigue management in stroke. The update in this literature review is the manifestation of fatigue conditions that, on average, will be experienced by stroke patients. If not handled properly, it will have a worse impact physically and psychologically, which can certainly interfere with the recovery process. So, it is necessary to appropriately manage both physical exercise and psychological interventions following the fatigue conditions of post-stroke patients. We recommend that in health services, nurses pay more attention to patient responses related to fatigue to provide appropriate nursing interventions and increase patients' desire to undergo rehabilitation.

Abstract

Patient safety is a global issue. Nurses are expected to enhance their abilities and skills in providing quality and safe healthcare to patients. Case-based reflection is one effective method to improve nurses' understanding of complex clinical situations and enhance their performance in addressing challenges in clinical practice. This study aims to explore implementing case discussion reflection to improve nurse professionalism. The method used in this study was a literature review through electronic databases, including ProQuest, Science Direct, PubMed, and Google Scholar. Inclusion criteria for the literature review process were national and international journals discussing the implementation of case-based reflection in hospitals, nursing professionalism, articles published in the last five years (2018-2022), articles written in Indonesian or English, full-text journal articles, and open access. The electronic database search through ProQuest, Science Direct, PubMed, and Google Scholar yielded 85 articles. After abstract screening and exclusion of articles published before 2018, duplicates/same journals, and irrelevant topics, 21 articles remained. Further screening of all articles resulted in 6 articles that will be reviewed for data extraction. The review findings indicate that through case-based reflection, nurses can expand their knowledge and skills in identifying, evaluating, and managing patient care more effectively. This can positively impact healthcare quality, patient safety, and patient satisfaction with the services provided. Therefore, the implementation of case-based reflection is crucial in enhancing nursing professionalism.

Abstract

The fulfillment of sexual needs is one of the physiological needs, no exception for prisoners. Deprived of everyday sex life, prisoners will result in sexual behavior deviation, where the distribution of sexual desire is sublimated in various abnormal ways. It is necessary to consider the need for the implementation of mechanisms for providing access to sexual needs in prison to prevent the occurrence of sexual irregularities in male prisoners, which in this case, will also protect the reproductive health of the legal partner/wife of the prisoner. This study aims to know the relationship between the fulfillment of sexual needs and sexual behavior deviation in male prisoners at second-class prisons in Bondowoso. This research uses a correlational analytical research design. Seventy-three respondents following this study and collected by purposive sampling. Data was collected using a questionnaire and processed with the Spearman rank test. The results of the analysis of the fulfillment of sexual needs are mostly not good, which is 66 people (90,4%), and sexual behavior is deviant mainly, which is 54 people (74%). The correlation coefficient analysis shows the value of fulfillment of sexual needs is 1.000 and sexual behavior deviation is 0.549. A significant linear relationship exists between the sexual need fulfillment variable and the sexual behavior deviation variable (p=0.000).  Midwives must care and be able to provide counseling and education about risky sexual behavior to vulnerable groups, including prisoners. This activity aims to break the chain of transmission of STIs and HIV/AIDS due to deviant sexual behavior.

Abstract

Labor induction is the stimulation of labor before there are signs of spontaneous labor. Induction of labor is performed if the risks of waiting for spontaneous delivery are judged to outweigh the risks of shortening the duration of pregnancy. Several labor induction methods are recommended, namely pharmacological and mechanical or non-pharmacological. Pharmacological induction is induction by administering prostaglandin E¹ analogs, namely misoprostol, and oxytocin, which will affect uterine contraction. This study aims to determine the relationship between vaginal administration of misoprostol and intravenous oxytocin with successful delivery. This research uses observational analytics with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling used the accidental sampling method with a sample of 32 respondents, which was carried out in August 2022. The instrument used for data collection was an observation sheet. The results showed that of the 32 respondents for successful delivery, almost all experienced successful delivery, with 24 respondents (75%). Multivariate data processing using the Spearman Rank test calculated using SPSS obtained a p-value < α = 0.001 (value α = 0.05). It can be concluded that H1 is accepted, which means there is a relationship between the vaginal administration of misoprostol and intravenous oxytocin with successful delivery in pregnant women.

Abstract

Giving weaning food (MP-ASI) too early has many impacts on the health of babies, including diarrheal diseases. This is because the baby's digestive system is not ready to accept food other than breast milk, causing a reaction in the digestive system. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between a mother's level of knowledge and giving MP-ASI (weaning food) on babies under 6 months. This study uses an analytic design observational with an approach Cross-sectional. Data were taken from interviews and questionnaire sheets at Posyandu Kenanga Desa Labruk Lor, held in November 2022 with a total population of 32 mothers with babies aged 0-6 months and a sample of 32 respondents using the technique of total sampling. Data collection includes coding, editing, and tabulating. Bivariate analysis using uji Chi-Square shows p-value= 0.001 < α 0.05 means a relationship exists between the mother's knowledge level and the provision of MP ASI to infants under six months old. A correlation value of 0.543 means that the mother's level of knowledge has a strong relationship with the provision of MP ASI to infants under 6 months old. The conclusion of the study, there is a relationship between the level of mother's knowledge and the provision of MP-ASI to infants under six months at Posyandu Kenanga Desa Labruk Lor in 2022. The suggestions are that research sites should conduct counseling activities related to exclusive breastfeeding and MP-ASI provision to increase mothers' knowledge.

Abstract

Child health problems in Indonesia are affected by the high infant mortality rate (IMR). One of the reasons for the high infant mortality rate in Indonesia is the low level of breastfeeding immediately after birth (initiation of breastfeeding) and exclusive breastfeeding. This study aimed to determine the relationship between mothers' knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of the sub-district health center. This study used an analytic survey study using a cross-sectional method. Data was collected using a questionnaire with a sample of 81 mothers with children aged 0-6 months, taking samples with purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Characteristics of the last educational research respondents 30 (37%) had junior high school education. The employment status of housewives was 34 (42%), 21 (25.9%) private, and 15 (18.5%) farmers. The average maternal age at productive age was 20-35, namely 46 (56.8%) mothers. The level of knowledge of mothers about exclusive breastfeeding mostly has a sufficient level of understanding of as many as 39 (48.1%) mothers. Mother behavior of infants aged 0-6 months mostly gave exclusive breastfeeding to their babies, as many as 47 (58%) mothers. There is a significant relationship between mothers' knowledge level about exclusive breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding to infants aged 0-6 months in the working area of the Krai health center with a p-value of 0.001. Mothers should actively ask midwives to explain the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding to motivate mothers to provide it to their babies.

Abstract

Forecasting is the science of predicting future events using final data. DHF is an infectious disease caused by mosquitoes carrying the dengue virus. Based on data from the Ministry of Health for 2020, there were 95,893 cases, with 661 cases dying. This study aimed to determine the number of patient cases in the future and the influence of climate factors on DHF in Tabanan Hospital. Prediction analysis in this study using the Linear regression method. Evaluation of measurement measurements using MAPE and significance tests, namely the F test and t-test to determine the magnitude of the influence of the independent variables on the dependent variable. This study resulted in a prediction of DHF at Tabanan Hospital in the 65th period of May 2022, totaling 74 DHF cases with an accuracy of the MAPE forecasting error rate of 16.99% in the good category. The F test shows a significance value of 0.31, more significant than the value of α (0.05), and the variable’s rainfall, air temperature, and air humidity do not significantly affect DHF cases. The results of the regression test with the t-test showed that the t-count Rainfall is -1,615 with a significance value of 0.11 > 0.05 where the t-count is a negative value which means that if rainfall increases, then the risk of DHF will decrease, the t value counts Temperature air is 0.278 with a significance value of 0.78 > 0.05, the t value for air humidity is 1.845 with a significance value of 0.07 > 0.05. With accurate prediction results, it is hoped that Tabanan Hospital management can improve hospital services and services.
