Abstract

Being a farmer who works directly in the environment certainly has many risks at work, one of which is the occurrence of unwanted events that can threaten the health of farmers. Some problems are classified as emergencies and must be handled immediately to avoid fatalities. One example is the occurrence of snake bite emergencies in farmers. This study aims to determine some emergencies in agricultural areas and how to provide first aid. The method used in this study was a literature review of articles from article search engines such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and Science Direct analyzed using the PRISMA technique by including articles published in the last five years. The results found that emergencies that often occur in agricultural areas include venomous snake bites, pesticide poisoning, contracting dengue fever from mosquitoes, and rat bites that cause rat-bite fever. First aid methods that can be performed on someone whom a snake has bitten are by calming the victim, immobilizing the victim's entire body by laying him in the recovery position and immobilizing the affected body part using either a sling, splint, or pressure bandage immobilization (PBI) method. Nurses have a role in educating and counseling farmers on how to first aid someone who experiences snake bites, rat bites that cause rat bite fever, and drowning in fishermen.

Abstract

This study employed a pre-experimental research design with a population of 29 respondents. A sample of 27 respondents was selected using simple random sampling. Data collection was conducted using observation sheets, and data analysis was performed using the Paired Sample t test test. The study revealed that prior to engaging in the traditional game of snakes and ladders, all respondents were categorized as having underdeveloped gross motor skills (BB) (100%). However, after playing the traditional game of snakes and ladders, most respondents were classified as having significantly improved gross motor skills (BSB) (93%). The analysis indicated a significant influence of the traditional game of snakes and ladders on gross motor skills in children, with a significant result (2-tailed 0.000 ≤ 0.05). The difference in gross motor skills in kindergarten children before and after being given stimulation through the Snakes and Ladders Game has a positive effect on children's gross motor skills. Playing snakes and ladders provides stimulation that can enhance the gross motor skills of children aged 4-5 years. Therefore, the traditional game of snakes and ladders can be used as a stimulation tool to optimize the development of underdeveloped gross motor skills.

Abstract

Basic Nursing Clinical Practice is the first clinical learning experience for vocational nursing students. The achievement of complete competence will provide a positive experience, ability, willingness to learn actively and independently, and direct continuous learning so that competent vocational nurse graduates are achieved. Self-Directed Learning Readiness (SDLR) is a condition where students have full control in the process of making decisions related to their learning and accept full responsibility for it, even though later they need help and advice from lecturers and Clinical Instructors. Therefore, this research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of SDLR on the competency achievement of basic nursing clinical practice students. This study used a quasi-experimental design with one group pretest and posttest design. The sampling technique used total sampling, with as many as 91 respondents. Respondents were 2nd semester D3 Nursing Study Program students. The analysis used an independent sample t-test, with a 95% degree of confidence. The results of statistical tests using the Independent T-Test showed that there was a positive effect of SDLR on the Competency Achievements of Basic Nursing Clinical Students with a p-value <0.05. Of course, a high level of Self Directed Learning Readiness, can have a positive impact on student competency outcomes in carrying out Nursing Clinical Practice, where competency achievement targets will be met. Achievement of plenary competence will provide a positive experience, ability, willingness to learn actively and independently, and direct continuous learning so that competent vocational nurse graduates are achieved.

Abstract

The puerperium is a period of recovery for the uterine organs as they were before pregnancy as well as physical and psychological changes in the mother. One of the problems during the puerperium is the perineal wound that occurs due to a spontaneous wound or episiotomy during delivery. The wound can be said to be healed if within 1 week the condition of the wound is dry, closed and there are no signs of infection. Delay in the healing time of perineal wounds can be a problem including bladder and birth canal infections. This study aims to determine the effect of water decoction of binahong leaves (Anredera cordifolia) on the healing of perineal wounds among postpartum women at PMB "M" Bogor Regency in 2022. This type of research uses a quasi-experimental research design with a posttest-only research design. The population and samples in this study were postpartum mothers with perineal injuries of degrees I-II as many as 30 respondents. The sampling technique in this study was total sampling and data collection was carried out by observation. Data analysis was performed using the Mann-Whitney U test to determine the effect of intervention in one intervention group compared to the control group. The results showed that there was an effect of boiled water from binahong leaves on the healing of perineal wounds with first- and second-degree wounds in postpartum women. The results of the Mann-Whitney U test obtained a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). The use of boiled water from binahong leaves can accelerate the healing process of perineal wounds among postpartum women at BPM "M" Bogor Regency. It is hoped that the use of boiled water from binahong leaves can be recommended and applied by health workers to postpartum women who experience grades I and II perineal injuries.
